I tried castor oil too...YUCK! (Reply to this comment)
by BonnieVA
Got no results & made me ill. With my 3rd I ate a whole bunch of watercress mixed in a salad. Of course I was already 7 days late but I began contractions 6 hours later. That's the ingredient in the salad mentioned earlier. Don't know if it was the magical solution for me or not! 2 friends of mine tried it but didn't work for them.

It's hard to believe but nipple stimulation worked for me when my 1st child was 10 days overdue! But, when I told my midwife about it before I had my 2nd, she said DON'T DO THAT, it's too dangerous, only medical professionals should do that (because you might stimulate too much oxytoxin)! I thought that was kind of funny!!!

Try chocolate! (Reply to this comment)
by momofchris
A woman that I worked with had her baby the night after we all had an after work party. She had a huge chocolate desert at the restaurant. We don't know if it was the chocolate or not, but it is a delicious way to try. Much better than Castor Oil.
Do let us know!

This might help (Reply to this comment)

This is advice from 30 years ago. I had a friend that was 2 weeks over due, her doctor told her to go swimming, she did. She also, decide when she got home to race her husband to the apartment door. She had the baby that night. In Denver I guess you would have to find an indoor pool. Maybe you will have a New Years baby!
Happy New Year!

Hi Heather!
I should have read this article before emailing you! I just asked you in an email if you've had the baby yet ... WHOOOPS ... you didn't need to hear THAT question again I'll bet!
I know of two women who went into labor right after eating at Mexican restaurants. Could be worth a try!
Keep me posted! I want to come see the baby soon!
Debbie :)

I once read about ... (Reply to this comment)
by theeye
a restaurant in California that was famous for its special salad that was said to induce labor. Pregnant women came from far and near to eat that salad .. and many of them went into labor not long after.
Of course, when you take a statistical sample of 9 months+ pregnant women and give them <fill-in-the-blank-with-any-hokey-idea>, you're bound to get a bunch of them going into labor soon thereafter!
Hope all has gone well by now! :-)

I think it was great for you to share your experience on this, even if it makes me sorry for you to think of your cramped hand, your tired legs, your unhappy night in the bathroom, and your stolid attempts to get through sexual encounters that made you laugh.
I wish you luck. And who knows, maybe epinions induces labor? Maybe you should pound out another few reviews just to find out.
