TEENAGERS
Oct 02 '00
If any of you out there have teenagers, YOU will know where I'm coming from with this one. My oldest daughter is 15 and in the 10th grade, and my middle daughter is 3 weeks away from 13 and in the 7th grade. The cost for raising teenagers nowdays will blow ones mind, not mentioning their bank account. Okay, I will write up a small list of basic essentials we have paid for thus far, this school year.
1. Locker fees.....$12.00 each
2. Keyboard fees for 15 yr. old...$25.00
3. Accounting for 15 yr. old....$25.00
4. Basic school supplies...at least $55.00
5. Fall pictures....$25.00 per package
6. Band fees for 13 yr old (including cost of instrument) $200.00 plus (also reeds for clarinet are $1.00 apiece)
7. Football games...$5.00 a ticket plus refreshments
8. Clothes for school......$400.00 and climbing daily (and this was budget shopping for BRAND names)
9. Homecoming dance $5.00 plus picture fees $10.00
I can tell you now, these girls are worth every penny spent, also the oldest has a part time job,and helps pay alot of her own way!
I just never dreamed how much teenagers could actually cost. If you think it cost alot for a baby, just wait until they grow older and let you know that EVERYONE else has one, and they won't wear it unless it is brand name!
All in all, I am extremely LUCKY for having great younguns that don't ask for as much as some kids do. They try their BEST to bring home good grades and to get along well with others at school.
Don't think for a minute that I'm complaining about my teens, because I am not. I'm just trying to give you a General idea how expensive they can be at times. (Ha, ha)
Thank you all for reading!
