I was given this stroller at a shower and thank my lucky stars every time I use it (which is daily).
The carseat is rear-facing 6-20 lbs and is lightweight. It comes with a base that stays strapped into the car so all you do is snap the carseat into the base and your off. An easy release of the big red button removes the carseat for portability. Extra bonus: Grandparents can purchase their own base for around $20 and you can feel secure knowing they're using your carseat (not one bought at a garage sale or borrowed).
When you have a wee one, you just unsnap the carseat from the base and place it on the stroller and off you go. No need to wake baby up while transporting from carseat to stroller.
The stroller is a dream. First of all it is tall (not unreasonably so) so no more bending over to stroll your little one.
To use: One latch releases the folded stroller, then you just let it "fall" to the ground while holding the handle and you'll hear a click. The click means that it's unfolded, locked and ready to use. There is a snack/drink tray for mom and a removable one for baby.
The seat in the stroller has two positions; one for infants/sleeping babies (with a head rest) and another for children able to sit up. The cover is terrific as well. When pulled down all the way, it almost completely covers baby. Plus you have a peek-a-boo window up top to see what's going on and mesh siding to allow air to flow through. There is plenty of storage space, both on the sides and the large bottom basket. The wheels are large, but not bulky. This allows for a very smooth ride.
One of the best features is its ability to be steered using one-hand (a MUST for a busy mom). The handle in the middle allows for single-handed steering and is also the handle used to pick it up and place it in the trunk once it's folded down.
To fold it down you just press a button on either side and let it naturally collapse. You'll hear a click and that tells you it's ready to be loaded into the trunk.
Of course with luxury comes a price, you will need to allow for enough trunk space. It's not overbearing, but because of the stroller's roominess, it is wide.
When you have the carseat locked into the stroller (which happens by placing the carseat on the stroller's lower handle until it clicks) you can pull the shade from the stroller and the one from the carseat and form a barrier of protection for your little one.
I am not looking forward to my son growing out of the carseat, I've gotten so spoiled by using this system.
If you are pregnant, or know someone who is, this is THE gift to buy. Because it is pricey, it's perfect for a group to go in on (say each donates $10).
Did I mention it's all washable???
This is ideal from birth to about 3 years old.
