Have a Scary Birthday? Halloween Birthday Party Ideas!
Oct 09 '00
Do you know someone who has a birthday on Halloween? Well, here are some Halloween Birthday Party Ideas. Even if you don't know someone with a Halloween Birthday, you could use these for ideas for a Halloween Party.
The cake is one of the highlights of a birthday party. Here are some ideas that will help make is a bit scary. Buy or make a normal sheet cake. You can buy a cake that is airbrushed black or orange. That isn't necessary though. You can buy the plastic bugs and spiders to decorate the cake. If the child's name is short enough and you have artistic talents, you can write the child's name with spiders. If that isn't possible, just decorate the name with bugs. Black and orange candles will bring out the Halloween spirit.
Here are some drink ideas. Forget the normal cokes and cool-aid. Let's have fun! Orange Bug Punch is a neat, scary treat for the party goers. If you want to make it black, mix a variety of food colors (purple, blue, orange, and red). For Orange Punch, you can use Hawaiian Punch, Orange Fruit Punch and Sprite. A big rubber spider with the legs hanging out the punch bowl will add a thrill. Want floating bugs in the punch? Freeze a raisin in ice cubes. Raisins make excellent bug impersonators in a frozen ice-cube.
Game Ideas are another 'Party Must Have.' You can basically use any normal birthday party game, just add some bugs, skeletons, or gore to it all. I have a few ideas that I can share with you.
Bobbing for spiders. You can buy the huge rubber spiders. Use these instead of apples. Play 'Bobbing for Spiders' just as you would 'Bobbing for Apples'. The kids can keep the spiders as a prize or you could give a prize for getting a spider. This is one of the funniest things I have seen yet.
Balloon Pop. Put different Bugs in Black Balloons. You can purchase black balloons at your local party store. Put a plastic bug in each balloon. The bugs should be different. If you can't find different bugs you can mark one bug with a permanent marker. Determine the bug that will be the prize winner. Have the kids use their bottoms to pop the balloons. The child who has the winning bug, wins a prize.
You can have the usual 'Costume Contest.' This isn't a new or unique idea, but a costume party at a birthday party would add to the fun.
To find all the items that I have described, you can go to your local discount store (i.e., Walmart, Target, K-mart, etc.) when Halloween is in season. You can also try a party store. They carry these things usually year round.
