Classic Cartoons are Back!

Written: May 30 '00
Pros:24 hour classic cartoons
Cons:none so far

The other day while channel surfing with no apparent goal in site, I discovered a really great new channel had been added to my DirecTV without me knowing it. I do not know how long it's been there since; I keep stations we don't watch locked out; as I have seven minor children.
Anyway, the new channel is called Boomerang and is from the same people that do Cartoon Network. They show the older classic cartoons only; which, according to their description on the guide on the television, 90% can not be seen anywhere else.
My kids have been enjoying the old Johnny Quest series, and Auggie Doggie, Jabberjaw, Top Cat, Flintstones [my personal all-time favorite cartoon], and many others. Also they show the cartoons in 'bunches'; they have a couple hours of the same cartoon series; before switching to a different one. So when you see an old favorite, you can just curl up on the couch with your kids and both enjoy them. You, going down memory land; and them discovering them for the first time.
