My husband bought this on his own. I actually looked at him puzzled when he gave it to our 1 yr old daughter, thinking that she wasn't ready for something like that BUT I was so wrong. We have gotten so much use from this ride on toy. We use it all winter long inside the house and outside in the summer. The long handle is GREAT! It really saves on the parent's back so that you don't have to bend over to help your toddler push his/her way along. It's very sturdy and is just the right height for a comfortable fit (we're both 5'7"). My daughter is 3 now and still struggling to use the pedals as intended on the bike so we're on our 3rd year w/ the added benefit of having the handle. Hopefully this summer she will figure out how to do it herself but in the meantime, I'm glad I have it since I'm 5 months pregnant and not able to bend over to push her. I HIGHLY recommend purchasing this for any child's 1st Birthday and beyond.
