Summer Birthday Party
Jan 13 '00
I'm actually getting this idea from a friend of mine that I go to church with. She had a birthday party for her daughter last year in the middle of the summer. It was a "Sprinkler Party" and all the little girls wore their bathing suits. They had a sprinkler set up underneath their trampoline so when the kids jumped on it, they got wet by the sprinkler. All the kids loved that. Then they had a little wading pool. They loved that too. Then I think the most fun they had was on a slip-N-slide that was also set up in the backyard.
The kids all had fun running about in their bathing suits and getting wet. Then after lunch and birthday cake and ice cream.....then came the parting party favors. She had another small pool set up outside filled with water......and goldfish. Dozens of them..... She had bought small goldfish bowls and let each child fish around in the water with their hands until they caught themselves a goldfish. Then they put it in their bowl and she gave each one a little baggie with fish food in it for them to take home with them.
This was one of the cutest birthday party ideas that I have ever seen.
