In this busy busy world of come and go, nothing can slow down the whirlwind of life and give a more powerful message than a good old fashioned hug!
The message behind this simple action goes beyond the wrapping of arms around anothers body. It speaks much more than that. It tells the person they are important to you. You are putting the brakes on your busy schedule to think about and enjoy them. If even for just a few minutes, you are making an important statement of love, respect and trust. I can feel my kids relax instantly when I stop and cuddle them for a few minutes during a cranky time of day.
And if your own intuition isn't good enough there is plenty of research to back up the benefits of hugs. Research is showing the sexual promiscuity is directly related to the amount of physical hugs and warm touches they got growing up. It makes sense. If they don't get their basic hug needs met at home, they will find them elsewhere. Hug your children today! Hug your teens today! Hug your husband today!!
