Who named it "morning" sickness?
Feb 12 '00
I have to say that until I actually became pregnant and experienced this for myself, I had no idea what the big deal was about. I mean, in the movies and books you read, you always see the women wake up in the morning, get sick and go about their merry way. Yeah RIGHT!
I am currently pregnant and just got over my bout with morning sickness. I actually thought that I would be one of those lucky few who got through the pregnancy without experiencing it. But whenever week seven rolled around, I found myself hugging the toilet. And it wasn't just in the morning. Mine started at more like noon. And lasted until bedtime.
It wasn't just the throwing up that was so bad. Maybe I could have handled it if it had been just that. But it was the loss of energy also. It was like I knew I needed to get to the toilet, but I had to make myself get off the couch first.
I lost weight due to "morning" sickness. And the bad news is that I found nothing that seemed to help it - except time. It finally went away around week fifteen!
