I Will Always Love You....

How many times have I told my kids that I will always love them. I sometimes don't like the choices they have made, but my love for them will never change.
When I had my first child 22 years ago, so many people told me not to spoil him by holding him too much. I thought to myself, if I want to hold my child I will and I will never regret how much I did hold each of the children. I would rock John to sleep for naps and at night time and kiss him and hold him oh so close. Amazing though when we had a babysitter who probably didn't want to hold him the whole time, was still able to put him down and have him fall asleep. SPOILED???? Only with lots of love! All my children were raised that way.
I kissed my children a lot and always had hugs for them. They were told all the time that they were loved and they knew when they needed a hug, I had one waiting!
As they grew up and entered their teens, they knew when things went bad, they could always count on my love to help them through. There were times when the words "I hate you Mom" or "You are the meanest Mom" would fly out of their mouths (and for new parents with darling little babies...yes this will happen to you too) but I still would hug them and let them know that even if I didn't like what they were saying I always loved them.
Humans need to feel and hear that they are loved. Give hugs to family and tell them how much you love them. One can never give too many hugs, kisses or praises when it comes to raising children!
My children are grown now and the best rewards for showing my affection to them are the hugs and kisses I get now whether we are in public or in the privacy of our home. They are not afraid to show their feelings! They also tell me "I love you" when I get a phone call from them as they travel near and far. It is times like that when I can sit back and say I did a pretty good job SPOILING my children with love!
