Worked for me

I don't know if I was just lucky or if I actually did something right, but my 3-month-old has been sleeping through the night (an average of 10 hours) since he was six weeks old. And before that, he would sleep about 5 hours, wake up to eat, then go right back to sleep for another 3 or 4 hours.
I have a few things that I try to do to keep this sleep pattern alive! First, I make sure the baby knows that is it night time. Lights go out, things are quiet, etc. for that particular feeding. All other feedings are done with noise and lights. Also, I try to stay on schedule as much as possible. This can be hard with a newborn, but I try to do everything but feed him to satisfy him so that I KNOW it is food he wants and not something else. And a few times I have even..GASP!...let him cry a little bit till he fell asleep. Doesn't hurt him one bit. He still wakes up with a smile, forgetting the crying he did the night before. Just a few tips that worked for me.
