| kereee's Full Review: Evenflo On My Way Travel System |
In May of 2000, I was approximately 6 months pregnant, and decided that it was time to register for my baby shower. I had gone to Target's, and spent the day picking out all of my wants and needs. Initially, I registered for a regular, ordinary stroller. As time passed, my mother had purchased the stroller I had registered for. Weeks later, my mother had looked up my registry list and had noticed that my stroller was purchased 3 times! Well, my mother was furious, and wanted to make sure that the stroller I kept would be hers! So, she decided to purchase me a travel system, knowing that I would keep her stroller over the basic one I had registered for.
I am very glad that my mother bought me this stroller! Although my son Kyle, at 4 months, is already growing out of the car seat, I got some great use out of the carrier seat, and continue to use the stroller wherever I go. The base is attached to the back seat of your car by a seat belt. This base stays in your car, and the carrier seat snaps onto the base. If you are constantly taking your baby in different cars, I would seriously consider purchasing an additional base. I can become irritating to constantly be taking out the base along with the carrier.
As far as the carrier seat goes, this seat was my saviour to sane and peaceful nights! My baby felt so insecure in his huge crib, and could not settle down to sleep. One night, I decided to put the carrier seat in the crib, and my baby loved it! It made him feel snuggly and safe! Up until a couple of weeks ago, this is where he slept each and every night! This carrier is fairly easy to carry, and fits onto most shopping carts as well. Kyle is getting too heavy to carry in this seat anymore, but he did get four months out of this seat!
As well as the carrier seat serving as a car seat, this seat also snaps onto the stroller as well, allowing your baby to face you. Kyle is currently sitting up in the stroller due to the fact that he is a big boy and also very nosy! This stroller is lightweight, and glides along very smoothly. It retracts so it can easily fit into your trunk or otherwise. The only problem I had with this stroller was figuring out how to collapse the stroller. It took a couple of times, and I almost left the mall without the stroller, but I am a pro at it now! I must admit that if you plan on going to a crowded event, you will most likely be more comfortable bringing an umbrella stroller since it is not as big. All in all, I love this travel system, even though I never had any intentions of owning one!
