Bringing Home the Bacon

Alot of people here on Epinions know that I am a *PROUD* Mother of 3 beautiful daughters. Although I am involved to the hilt in their lives, I am also a WORKING MOM! I started working because I had to when I was 17 years old. My almost 16 year old was a bit over 6 months old at the time, and her Dad wouldn't keep a steady job. I wanted better for us, therefore
I went to work waiting tables at a local restaurant.
During the last 15 years I have only been out of work just long enough to give birth to my other two daughters and then it was right back to work I would go. I missed out on alot when they were babies and I will regret that ALWAYS. That first step, word, and a whole lot more!
Once when my middle daughter was about 2 years old, she came down with pneumonia and was hospitilized for 5 days. Her Dad would stay at the hospital at night, while I was working a 10 hour shift, and as soon as I got off at 7am, I would go to the hospital and stay with her until time for me to get ready for work and leave her again.
It broke my heart to have to go, but I had to make sure that we had money to pay our bills!
Things are alot different now. I am no longer married to their Dad, but to a WONDERFUL hard working man that breaks his back to give us all that we need! He tells me all the time that I don't have to work if I don't want to. To tell you the truth, I am so used to working now, and my girls are so busy with school and numerous other activities that I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I wasn't working. Also, with 3 growing daughters(2 of them being teens), it takes alot of income for us to afford all the things that they need, and within reason, the things they THINK they need! LOL!
I take my hat off to all the SAHMS! That is a true job in itself and I'm sure the rewards are something wonderful. My daughters know that I keep on doing what I'm doing for them. I only want "The Best" for them and I hope that they are satisfied with me as a Mother.
