I purchased the Graco Duo Rider just before my second child was born. My oldest was 2 1/2. As a Nursery nurse, I meet and become friends with a lot of mothers. After talking with them, I decided on a side by side stroller. Those who had used the other type felt the older/bigger child did not have enough room when riding in the back. Also, as the children grew, the one in back was able to pull hair and otherwise bother the one in front, starting fights.
I have used my stroller for nearly two years. My nearly 4 1/2 yr old can still ride it in, although she will soon be outgrowing it. Although the stroller is wider than a single stoller, I haven't found it to be much more difficult to maneuver than my single stroller. It will fit thru most doors of stores. And, for trips to the zoo it is wonderful. There are two large baskets under the seats and I make full use of them.
Finally, the stoller collapses easily and is easy to set up.
