When we first decided to buy a double stroller, I was determined to get the "front to back" model. I thought the "side by side" model was too big and would be difficult to get through doorways and would be hard to maneuver. My husband shared my opinion.
We went to a baby store to check out the double strollers. We found both the front to back type and the side by side. I began to push the front to back and found it hard to steer and it was rather heavy. Meanwhile, my husband was checking out the Graco Duo Rider. I asked him what he was doing and told him we (isn't that nice of me to use "we") did not want that one, we wanted the front to back. He said, "Just push this one and see if you like it better." I started to "test drive" the Duo Rider. I was amazed at how much lighter it was and how easy it was to steer around. A big selling point was folding it up and picking it up and pretending to put it in the back of our minivan. It was so much easier to do this with the Duo Rider than the front to back model. Pricewise, they were the same. We finally put our then 2 year old in it and he was a happy camper. He refused to get in the front to back for some reason (other than the fact he is a 2 year old and will do it when HE wants to). The only problem we could forsee is having difficulties getting into small stores. My husband actually did not see this as a huge problem as he will do just about anything to keep me from shopping!
There was no contest. The Graco Duo Rider was the winner. We went ahead and purchased it and are very glad we did. We have used it on several occasions for both children. I am positive we will get our money's worth out of this and you really can't go wrong with a Graco stroller.
