Save Those Empty Toilet Paper Rolls
Dec 03 '00
Hanukkah is a Jewish holiday. During this festival, a candle is lit at the end of every day. Traditionally, each candle is placed in a Menorah. Here is a menorah you can make with your children using empty toilet paper tubes.
What You Need:
5 Cardboard toilet paper tubes.
Masking or scotch tape or glue .
Cardboard or Poster Board strips. (approx 2"-3" wide)
Yellow and orange tissue paper.
Tempera paint, brushes and water or magic markers.
What You Do:
Take the 5 cardboard tubes; keep one tube the length that it is and cut the other 4 in half . The center toilet paper tube will be the tallest.
Tape (or glue) the tubes to the cardboard or poster board with 4 tubes on each side of the tallest tube.
Paint or use magic markers to color the menorah.
Glue pieces of yellow and orange tissue paper in the ends of the tubes to represent burning flames.
