Motherhood..No Greater Gift

It's Mother's Day and I woke up to sun shining through my window and the birds chirping a beautiful song. With all this beauty surrounding me, nothing compares to the beauty and joy I experience when I look into my children's faces. Right now, they are both still asleep with their angelic little faces. I have been in their room twice already this morning just to stare and marvel at these two little human beings that were once inside me.
I thank God daily for the two beautiful gifts He sent me. There is no greater feeling than to have my oldest son wrap his arms around me and say "I love you, Mommy". My youngest is too young to talk but he tells me the same thing just by the way his eyes light up the second he sees me.
I remember when they were both newborns and how I would spend hours just cuddling them and soaking in the smell of their hair. We had an instant bond the moment I knew they existed inside me and at that point I knew I would give my life to protect my children.
Every day watching them grow amazes me. I love to experience life all over again through their eyes. They find beauty and joy in everything they see, hear, touch, taste, and feel. Their innocence is overwhelming. My biggest wish is that they can retain some of that in their adult years. I want them to be able to always see the beauty in life and always stop to pet a kitten, marvel at a rainbow, and just enjoy breathing in the cold fresh air on a rainy day.
Of all the accomplishments I have had in my life, none is greater than becoming a Mother. It has been my biggest wish and my biggest fear. I pray everyday that I have the ability to be the best mother to my children that I can be.
I take such pride in the fact that there is one thing in life that no one else can ever do but me and that is being Tyler's and Tanner's Mommy.
