Rosedon is for anyone who is looking for a small quaint hotel with a perfect location in the town of Hamilton. I can't think of a better choice! At the Rosedon, the staff will get to know you, and remember you on your first day! This is probably what impressed me the most.
I stayed there with my child and mother two weeks before Christmas. We were greeted by a friendly front desk in a warm lobby atmosphere. The main house (lobby) was definitely decorated with a touch of love. We enjoyed the huge Christmas tree and decorations through out, all with an oh so very "homey" feel to it.
We didn't stay in the main house, we stayed going down the stairs to the right of it, that opened up into a lush tropical landscape, that I call the courtyard area, with lovely additions that are equal too, if not better than the main house. Rosedon has a "minimum" room, which I believe there are two, this is your best price, followed by moderate/standard, deluxe, and luxury. We stayed in room 28, which I believe was standard. It opened up into the beautiful courtyard which was well manicured and the heated swimming pool. There is a beautiful gazebo as well. Our very clean room consisted of two double beds, eating area, satellite t.v., refrigerator, coffee maker, bathroom soap/shampoo, to name a few, concerning room amenities. I personally enjoyed the table with a book on the history of Rosedon, and many magazines on things to do. I'd also like to add, turn down service, with a chocolate on the pillow! What a nice touch.
We had full breakfast included that was just perfect. We could eat it anywhere we wanted, in our room, outside on the patio, by the pool, or in the main house. There is also "tea time" at 4:pm daily in the main house that is complimentary with neat small sandwiches with the crusts cut off, and little cute pastries. This is a good time to also get to know other guests staying at the Rosedon. They also have an "honors bar", you just take out the drink you want, sign what you took, and it is charged to your bill when you check out. It's all about honesty. How delightful!
We found the staff at Rosedon impeccable! They have worked there for a very long time, at least 10-20 years! The staff were so very helpful with all our "tourist" questions, and accomidated all our needs. Rosedon is like a bed and breakfast. Rosedon is not a waterfront property. The harbor is across the street (no beach). If you want to see the beach, Rosedon will provide taxi to Southshore, where there is pink sand!
Although I traveled with my daughter and mother, there were many business travelers, and couples as well. I think my kid was the only one of her age there. But that was o.k., we kept her busy.
About two weeks after I left the lovely Rosedon in Bermuda to home in Kissimmee, FL, I was pleasantly surprised by a thank you letter from Rosedon. They invited me back! I also got a letter from the Bermuda Tourist Bureau for a survey. I have never, in all my travels, have had such a lovely reception. Thank you, Rosedon!
