The first time I visited St. Thomas, I merely saw Frenchman's Reef, and then dreamed about it for years.
The second time I visited St. Thomas, my dream came true. I stayed there, feeling like I was hanging from a cliff right out of heaven. Morning Star Beach is sensational. What a joy!
This luxury resort has on-site restaurants with food far better than one would expect. I've never been a person to enjoy food at motels when I could indulge in the flavors of nearby restaurants. However, this is far from the case at Frenchman's Reef. The entrees are delicious. They offer anything from chicken, steak and absolutely, delicious seafoods . . . some of which I had never tried.
There's a coffee shop available for your snacking pleasure.
Speaking of snacks, there is also a cocktail lounge. You will not think of a drink that the bartender cannot prepare. The bartenders delight in preparing non-alcoholic drinks, too, should that be your choice. There are many choices of liqueurs, wines, beers and spirits that suit your liking. You can have them with or without those little colorful umbrellas.
Frenchman's Reef offers an Italian Restaurant, an American Restaurant and an Eclectic "Tavern on the Beach." You will find yourself merely steps away from universal foods.
Frenchman's Reef overlooks Morning Star Beach, and the view is spectacular. Of course, there is no word that can convince you of the beautiful feeling you will experience while there. Writing about it and experiencing it is as vast as the difference in Richard Gere and Minne Pearl.
Though Frenchman's Reef is a luxury hotel, it is priced according to most everyone's pocketbook, depending on the type room you prefer or can afford. There are ocean front rooms, garden view rooms, quality rooms and deluxe rooms. The list goes on and on.
I thought we'd never decide; however, we finally opted for the ocean view room. It's not often that I have the pleasure of enjoying the Caribbean.
Both times I visited St Thomas, it was in December - a lovely time of year in the area. I suggest December through February as great times for a trip to Frenchman's Reef. It gives you a nice break from the cold weather. Also, hurricane season ends November 30, so you can expect plenty of sunshine and wonderful temperatures.
Although I love St. Thomas and desire to go again, I believe I could experience full and complete pleasure at Frenchman's Reef, wherever it would be situated. It's my hope that it remains there forever and is never moved, but, believe me, I'd find it if they move it to Alaska. (That's somewhat stretching the truth, but I mean what I say . . . only 'somewhat' stretching it).
Go! You'll have the time of your life!
