I only read one issue of Interview, I am not an extremely experienced reader. There is a good chance that I will leave out things and exaggerate other things. In short, this epinion is about my first impression.
Which was shock, I didn’t know what to make of this magazine. Interview is different right from the start, from it’s extra large size to it’s powerfully colorful pictures. Visually it’s impressive, filled with beautiful people doing beautiful things, you will be hard pressed to find a genetically imperfect person in an issue. Without reading a word of it this magazine makes for good eye candy. While this magazine was chock full of ads surprisingly it didn’t detract one bit from the effect. The ads were as stunning if not more so than the magazine’s photographs.
As for the interviews, I can’t comment on the particular people that were interviewed because I didn’t know who most of them were, guess I’m just not hip. Most of the interviews seemed pretty shallow, skimming the surface seemed to be the theme of this magazine. But in the ultra-hip world where this publication lives anything more than shallow is just a little too much. If you want to know what the beautiful people are doing and most importantly what they look like pick up Interview…for me that was probably my last issue.
