A One Sided View by butlersfb13 Pros: This News station has an interesting take on the news.
Cons: It is one sided news and is not always accurate. Fox news is always particularly interesting to watch even if you are not a conservative. I'm not a big fan of Fox News though because I'm not a conservative and I want some real news.

An Insightful Film by twichell-k Pros: Well Composed/Written Music
Compelling Characters Unique Premise Good Choreography Cons: Pacing Frequent Alternating Characters Dragged a Bit in the Middle Fame opens the public's eyes to the slightly romantacised life of attending college at Juliard. The musical numbers are overall fantastic and leave the viewer feeling raw with the emotion express through the song and dance. Yes, the film was a tad slow in places and could get confusing, what with the alternating characters, but I would still recommend it.

It was refreshing to see a movie that displayed all branches of the arts and how each section's schooling, careers, and relationships with each other played out. As a performing arts student myself, I can testify that many of the tactics and techniques showcased in Fame are accurate and actually improve different skill sets. So, there is a bonus for accuracy which will appeal to the more analytical of viewers. Also, there are scenes and songs, particularly in the beginning of the movie, which definitely help build character development for later on in the film. Fame, for the most part, is a movie of character study and a coming-of-age film, and, in my humble opinion, the actors, along with the writers and director, pulled off a thought-provoking and realistic image. All of the people who worked on this film should feel proud of what they created-- a unique musical with a plot and characters that resonate with the viewer long after the credits have rolled. |
