Bath & Body Works deal!

OK I already broke my vow to not buy anything til the end of April :( But it was such a good deal that I must now enable all of you muahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

I went to bathandbodyworks.com and added one bottle of Banana Smoothie body lotion to my cart as well as a temptations body wash. Checked out and entered free4u in the promotion box and got the body wash for free as well as the $25 madras tote bag. All that for $15 and that included shipping!

19 more days on hiatus. Then I'm getting some Banana Smoothie body lotion. At least I already have that tote bag!

Oh what a super deal! If I wasn't in the middle of moving, I'd be all over it.... On the other hand, I deserve something just for me! That really is an awesome deal :)

Go buy the Banana Smoothie lotion now. How will you feel if they don't have any left in 19 days? I say, fall off the wagon temporarily and then get right back on! :)

I'll never be on a no-buy! I can't do it! So why disappoint myself? LOL.

I might take part in that deal, although I'm going to Bath & Body Works tomorrow. But that madras tote bag is an online special only! Which Temptations Body Wash did you get?

I got the soap today! Thanks! I didn't open the box yet, though!

Oh good! I'm so glad you got the box. I got the Frosting Forever body wash. I've never smelled it before so I hope it doesn't suck. But it was free so I shouldn't care :D

It sounds good - I can't wait to smell it! Tomorrow I want to get:

Frosting Forever 3-in-1
Frosting Forever Lotion
Banana Smoothie Lotion
Melon Cooler 3-in-1
Cinnamon Buns Lotion
Frozen Daiquiri Lotion
Home fragrance oils in several scents if they have them

Everything else I think I can live without or have from a previous season (Pecan Passion and Frozen Daiquiri 3-in-1).

I have a bunch of coupons to use; we'll see how I do.

RE: Bath & Body Works deal!

Yesterday after work, I went to Bath & Body Works and got a bunch of Temptations stuff:

Forever Frosting 3-in-1
Cinnamon Buns 3-in-1 (it's different and better than last fall's version!)
Melon Cooler 3-in-1
Forever Frosting Lotion
Frozen Daiquiri Lotion
Banana Smoothie Lotion
Forever Frosting Home Fragrance Oil
Frozen Daiquiri Home Fragrance Oil
Banana Smoothie Home Fragrance Oil

They have a new scent coming out (not in the Temptations line) called Sparkling Peach - it's a pretty nice peach scent! I thought of Chelledun (Michelle) because I know she likes peach. I got a 2 oz. mini lotion for $1.

Yay! You thought of ME??? I DO love peach! The name sounds so appealing, because I used to be really addicted to peach sparkling water. I am going to have to get some of this...Spending a dollar isn't really cheating on my pledge, right? ;)

Heck no! In fact, if you do the boo boo lip thing and bat your eyelashes, you might even get someone else to give you the dollar to buy it and then technically you didn't cheat at all :D

Yes, I thought of you because didn't you like the peach stuff from The Body Shop? I REALLY like the Sparkling Peach. I can't wait for it to come out. I want to get the EDT and the Body Cream in that scent. You should get the mini lotion...spending $1 doesn't count if you're on hiatus!

Paula (Uglybugg) - I placed my order at Bath & Body Works.com. I couldn't resist. I got the little tote with the samples!

RE: Bath & Body Works deal!

Paula ~ I'm so disappointed in the Frosting Forever 3-in-1. It has this plastic/Play-Doh scent oddness mixed in with the frosting scent. I thought it might just be my particular 3-in-1 but I went back to B&BW today to check out others, and sure enough, they all smell this way. I think I'm spoiled by Philosophy's Buttercream Frosting, which has NO plastic/Play-Doh scent oddness to it. Ugh. I'll probably end up exchanging it for another Cinnamon Bun Heaven 3-in-1, as you can never have enough of that one. I can't wait for you to get your Frosting Forever 3-in-1 - I want to know if yours has it too. Even my Home Fragrance Oil in that scent has the SAME funk. :(

Yes, you can return things to the store that you bought on the website, as long as you have your invoice/receipt. I'm hoping that all of the ones in my store are from a bad batch or something, and that yours smells really great. I'm definitely returning mine. I just reviewed it. Two stars.

I read it and was relieved I didn't get it. It was a very funny review although I know you didn't mean to be funny. Just the way you described the scent made me laugh because I know exactly what you mean.

I probably am the only one who bought the Iced Tea but I am a fanatic for it so maybe I will like showering in it.

We will soon see....

No, I bought it - it's much more subtle than the other scents released this year. I like it.

I have the Iced Tea Twist as well (I got it in the little 4 oz. when those were out last month). I don't like it, but that's just based on showering with it a few times. I have to use it a bit more to get more of a handle on the scent.

I was back at Bath & Body Works on Friday. The new Sparkling Peach smells like a mixture of fresh peach and that funky good but slightly artificial peach sparkling water scent. It'll be out in everything (shower gel, eau de toilette, etc.) on April 23.

That's only 3 weeks and 2 days away. Certainly do-able (is that a word?)...............but not for a beauty product addict!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why do you even try to stay on the wagon? I can't give myself that kind of goal because I'll never be able to do it. I have no willpower. Which is why I am not a size 2. :)

so pathetic I am- 5ft tall, and a mere 85 lbs. So hard to find clothes- and I say that for real. Being a mom of 2 and having to shop in the juniors is well, strange- nothing really for the moms in that department- all kind of slanky and skin bearing.

Hey Stacey, I got my frosting body wash from BBW today. I think it smells good! I'll use it tomorrow and let you know if it still smells good or whether I've bathed in Play Doh. But I always had a thing for the smell and taste of Play Doh so my opinion may not be reliable LOL. Oooh and that cute little madras bag. I love it!

I have to hem jeans and other pants too. I'm 5'4". If I can't find petite clothes, I'm hemming! I hate that most clothes are too long.

I'm exchanging my Frosting Forever for a Cinnamon Buns tomorrow.

I'm glad to hear that the madras bag is cute! I can't wait to get it and the samples that are in it.

I like Play-Doh too but not in my body products. I loved the smell of it when I was a kid but I'm not sure I ever tasted it! I have a weird thing for the smell of basements, that cold cement stone smell..sometimes I stand in our garage or basement and just breathe deeply. I wish I could bottle that smell! Of course BF thinks I'm a wacko! LOL!

Me too. I'm only 5' so it's really hard to find pants that fit. Plus I'm about 10x bigger than a size 0 so that makes it even harder. Giggle. I guess that's why I'm different from the women who love to shop for clothes and why I buy so much beauty stuff - I know it will always fit :)

OMG that bag is so cute. Way cuter than I thought it would be. I have it hanging on the hook in my bathroom. I'm staring at it. Willing it to bring us some nice weather so I can carry it around while wearing my new white capri pants.

The cement smell! I know it well. Can't say that I'd like to bottle it, but I know what you mean LOL.

ok back from shopping....

I did happen to find 4 tops today, but no pants- I could not find any jeans in my size that did not have stretch in them- I like just plain denim.

Anyway, I went to BBW and got a nail file (wow, big purchase), and the Temptations Perfect Peach 3 in 1, and some grapefruit Eau de Toilette for $18, that smells like expensive perfume, but it's not. I also got a coupon for buy one signature collection item and get one free on my next purchase.

They also had a deal on buy 2 signature collection items and get one free, but I opted for the tempations line instead.

Nice haul! I think you will love the grapefruit EDT. I'll be interested in knowing what you think of the Perfect Peach 3-in-1 - I have mixed feelings about it at this point.

I have mixed feeling as well. It isn't very strong or peachy, really! Sort of...soapy. Definitely not up to par with The Body Shop's stuff. Looking to be a two or three star product for me.

Well, I used this tonight, and it smelled really good at the store in the bottle, but my feelings are mixed as well, it did not come out strong scented bath wise to me. I'll use it a little while longer before I write a review- maybe I can find a postitive side.

Ooh- also something positive that has nothing to do with BBW- I bought a pair of Columbia shorts for $9.99 at T.J. Maxx- what a deal!

OMG that bag is so cute. Way cuter than I thought it would be. I have it hanging on the hook in my bathroom. I'm staring at it. Willing it to bring us some nice weather so I can carry it around while wearing my new white capri pants.

I have two coming. They said one per customer but two are on the way. But what are the samples? Anything good?

Patty = freezing in NY and positive there will never be grass showing again

I received two little packets of Jaqua lotion that reek, a Goldie lip gloss, a Frederick Fekkai hair treatment, something that removes self tanner, a Caudalie face mask. I think that was all.

Two or three stars for me as well. The new Sparkling Peach scent they are bringing out in a few weeks is FAR better than the Temptations peach!

Bath & Body Works shipping takes too long. I should have had my package by now in my opinion! I like Goldie gloss. I wonder what two Jaqua lotions they are - I love some of their lotions/creams. I'm looking forward to that little madras bag.

My closets and linen closets runneth over with product...

I'm amazed that you didn't receive yours yet. I got mine on Monday and I think they come from Ohio or Kentucky. You should have got yours first as you're closer!

The Jaqua lotion I received was pink champagne. It's nice lotion but the smell is too strong and floral for me. I washed it off twice and could still smell it. Ick.

I placed my order on 4/4 and it was shipped on 4/9. It must be coming by way of an actual snail. I think Bath & Body Works is in Ohio. Weird. Hopefully I'll have it tomorrow.

I just read a review on that and the reviewer loved the smell. I don't think I will if it is floral. Ew. I believe she said it was floral as well but liked the floral scent.

I love Goldie lipgloss so I am happy that may be in the bag. If my orders ever get here!

I got my Bath & Body Works.com order today! I love the cute madras bag - it'll be perfect for summer. Bugg is right - the samples are so-so. But for free, it's better than nothing!

Did you all see that in the catalog they sent, there is a coupon for a free full-size Temptations 3-in-1 with a $15 purchase? This is the same coupon they've been giving out in stores.

It's definitely floral to my schnoz. I detected a tiny bit of grape when I first applied it, which would make sense as the name is champagne, but the floral overtook the grape and was just too much for me. Nice lotion though. Too bad it smells gacky.

I hope you get a Goldie too. It looks and smells really nice. I'm trying to resist trying it for a while though.

I'm so glad you finally got your order! I love that bag. I didn't get a catalog with my order. Wah. I swear BBW has something against me when it comes to catalogs and coupons. I never get anything in the mail or in my online orders even though they have my address and phone #.

Do they have your home phone number or your cell number? I heard from a store manager that they do not use cell numbers - if you give them a cell number, you will not get coupons and catalogs. Supposedly, their entire system is based on non-cell, non-private numbers (I REALLY question the non-private thing, though). Once I fell off the list, and used our phone number anyway when checking out at the store when the clerk asked for my phone number. A few weeks later, my BF got a coupon in the mail. I asked the store manager about it next time I was there and she said that because I gave our phone number, which is in BF's name, their system automatically generated a coupon in HIS name. Weird, huh? I don't know how true ANY of that is, but that's what she told me. My advice is to call Bath & Body Works and tell them that you never get anything - and have them put you on their mailing list manually over the phone. They will send you out a coupon right away just for calling. They are really nice on the phone. Their number is 1-800-395-1001.

They have my real #. Although I used to give them my old # and I got coupons in the mail. Now that they have my real, live #, they ignore me. LOL.

Thanks for the advice and the phone #. I'll give them a call to whine and nag in the morning.

so pathetic I am- 5ft tall, and a mere 85 lbs. So hard to find clothes- and I say that for real. Being a mom of 2 and having to shop in the juniors is well, strange- nothing really for the moms in that department- all kind of slanky and skin bearing.

Holy cow! I might be the shortest of the SHLEPS but you are definitely the smallest! LOL I'm an inch shorter than you but the last time I weighed 85 lbs. was when I was in highschool! I hit the 100 mark when I got married in '96.

Not only is it hard to find small pants, but a short inseam too- it's a nightmare! I have to hem jeans!

I can buy pants in the PETITE section and STILL have to get them hemmed! My best friend laughs at me because I even have to get capri/cropped pants hemmed sometimes or they just look like regular length pants on me LOL It does seem better now than 10 years ago though. There was a time that EVERY SINGLE thing I bought had to be hemmed! (pants, dresses, skirts, etc.) I always have to have pajama pants hemmed too.

RE: ok back from shopping....

I went in BBW the other day and sniffed. OMG that iced tea one is WEIRD! I never expected to smell something like that in a shower gel! I liked the apple one. The melon was okay but I still have no desire for scents like that after the mega cucumber melon craze years ago. I'm over it! The peach didn't really smell to me? (in the bottle). I like peach scents but it just wasn't strong enough or something. The buttercream smelled good but I could already detect the fake plastic smell moonsista pointed out. I had the frozen daiquri last year so I'm over that one too. The rest didn't appeal to me. *sigh* I would've gotten the apple if they had it in the little bottles. I refuse to buy the huge bottles unless it's a scent that I absolutely HAVE to have because I'm madly in love with it. Otherwise I never use it all! I have the mini bottle of the hot chocolate one from Christmas and I still have 1/3 of that left!

I looked at those cute boxed sets like moonsista has also.... one of them has a pineapple and blueberry shower gel in it and I really wanted it but I couldn't pay $20 for a mini shower gel when one is a scent I don't like (raspberry) and another isn't great (the blueberry, as Stacey told me). So $20 for the little pineapple one just wasn't justifyable to me. And I can justify almost anything LOL

I also went to Victoria's Secret as I have a $10 gift card and I didn't get anything there either. I sniffed and sniffed and sniffed... I did like one of the new Beauty Rush shower gels but I don't want all that glitter in a shower gel... no thank you!

Hmmmm...I sure do hope that a little birdie doesn't put a tiny bottle of the pineapple in your mailbox next week! ;) It should be enough to get you your pineapple "fix"!

The glitter in the Beauty Rush shower gel doesn't get on your skin at ALL and doesn't stay in the tub or in your shower sponge or wash cloth. It's like the Caress shower gels that looked "glittery". Somehow the glitter (which is smooth, by the way) disappears. The Beauty Rush shower gels are really nice! Great scent, great lather, and they look nice in the shower/bathroom with the shimmery gel and the neat chrome tops.

So glad capri pants are in style- that's like the only thing I don't have to worry about hemming. That's probably the main reason I learned how to sew- everyone at our house has to have their pants hemmed- and yes even if I get them in the petite dept- I still have to hem.

I found a pair of jeans via Old Navy.com that fit without hemming, so I went back and bought 5 more pair so I would not have to hem.

Oh and yes, that iced tea one at BBW was weird!!!! I am enjoying my Grapefruit EDT, but not so much the Perfect Peach stuff.

I have given up on jeans for the most part... I do have a couple of pairs of Levi's that I found in petite departments that are perfect length. All my other ones are boot cut and I just have to wear them with heels and then they are fine. But if I take off my shoes... you can't even see my feet LOL

BBW Iced tea

Ok yeah, the Iced Tea scent from BBW is exactly like iced tea. But I am trying to think of why I want to smell like iced tea. It's good and all but I dunno...I am not exactly sure what to do with it.

The Apple is fine. Not any better really than Body Shop's apple scents. Not any worse.

QVC had a long Philosophy special on last night and OF COURSE, I ended up with a big skin care package (great deal) and some 3 in 1's. I don't even really like most of them but the new scents just got me. Coconut, another Apple, and Fresh Lemonade along with the matching salt scrubs. Yikes.

I will have to take five showers a day to even make a dent in all this stuff I have.

Patty

BBW Sparkling Peach?

They are having a sale at BBW - $5.00 for all kinds of scents and formulas but the one I am interested in is the Sparkling Peach. The others, I already know about.

Can anyone tell me if the Sparkling Peach is plasticy when in use? I put the shower gel, body cream, body mist, and something else in my cart (and they have $10 off a $30 purchase too, BTW) and then I stopped, remembering people mentioning a plastic, chemical, fake peach scent from BBW.

Is this the one?

I hope it is since I DO NOT need this stuff but love peach scents. Real ones not chemicaly ones.

Anyone try this stuff? I know Stacey mentioned she liked it but I wasn't sure if it was just the sniff test or real use.

I think it was the other peach one (Perfect Peach?) that was plasticy (although I like it). I think a few have tried the one you're talking about but I also don't remember if it was the sniff test or an actual use test.

I have the Sparkling Peach body lotion that I got a few weeks ago (they had mini bottles at the registers for $1 or $2). I've used it quite a bit. It is definitely NOT plastic, chemical, fake peach scent. Thankfully, it's nothing like Jaqua's disgusting peach and it's nothing like BBW Temptations Perfect Peach!
It's also not a boring peach - it's a bit complex and I love it! I am going tonight after work to stock up! Hope this helps you, Patty. If you have any other questions, let me know. :)

I ordered it. I was thinking of the Perfect Peach apparently. Sheesh, now they are overlapping scents.

Thanks. I feel better knowing it won't smell really fake like I read in reviews of the Perfect Peach.
