RE: New WYSIWYG Text Editor Help Thread

So any word on when the new editor will see the light of day. Taking September off was enough to recharge my batteries and I'd like to submit again - but I refuse to spend two hours wrestleing with that broken editor.

Hopefully, next week, according to Yoel.

RE: New WYSIWYG Text Editor Help Thread

*raises hand*

S'cuse me, but while it's fantastic that the HTML wig-outs will be all squared away when this comes out, what about the absurdly huge gaps between paragraphs? Have those been taken care of too or will we still have to wrestle with those?

(My apologies if this has already been answered - I skimmed through the thread where I left off but didn't see anything)

RE: New WYSIWYG Text Editor Help Thread

That one hasn't been answered yet, as far as I know. I'm assuming that will be fixed, as well. But, yes, I know what happens when one assumes.

"absurdly huge gaps"

I've been working on editor bugs the last week or so, trying to get as many of them fixed before the staging release tomorrow. (Staged, so only a small percentage of people will see the changes. The release will go out to everyone early next week.)

As for the AHG bug (see post title), I think it's fixed for most users. If you are using IE on Windows, you *may* get an extra space in the pros/cons. I ran out of time while trying to squash this bug.

We are planning one last release before the end of the year at the end of the month. I'm on point for the editor bugs, so I'll do my best to get them fixed by the end of the month.

Yep. When I delete the extra break marks, I get the "You have an opening x without a closing y."

I'll be patient and stop complaining now. I promise!

I'm a little late to this party, but my problem seems to have come down to an "{i}" or other symbol being moved in between {br }'s. My solution has been to preview my review as a little more progress has been made, in order to pinpoint broken code, fix it, and continue. I always copy the "fixed" version (ascii) to a text editor. It's been working pretty well...

RE:

Interestingly enough, while most people seemed wigged out about the HTML hiccups, it was the AHGs (like the acronym by the way XD ) that drove me to the breaking point. I'll throw a small party and bake cookies and brownies the day I post a review and the AHGs disappear. =D

Which you can take out by removing the <br /> tags from the HTML code for the pertinent form space. If it bothers you, that is.

Man, I worked on the editor for a good 8 hours today. I think I have all the bugs fixed, and I found a hack fix for the IE bug I described above.

This version of the editor will go out at the end of the month.

Rex is correct, if you aren't happy with the html that the editor has created, you can click the HTML code button and eradicate it yourself.

Also, when the toggle link goes out on Monday, you can do the same, toggling between the 'visual' and actual code, to fine tune how your review is displayed.

...drolllol...

Those who enjoy using both will be pleased.

Those who feel . . .'challenged' will still feel . . .'challenged'.

Hopefully everyone will give it a fair shot and some 'play time' to continue to figure it all out.

...tom...

P.S. thanks for your time spent on this. Take a break now.

Actually, I misspoke: it's the paragraph tags: <p> </p>

I can't spend

1 hour writing a review and 2 hours trying to post it. I have used the Word Document things; I have tried to use links but I gave up on that. I have gone to the source and tried to do html myself, which I do know how to do. After a multitude of can't publish because of html I took anything with bold, anything I tried with the html for bold and the review is naked. Still I get You have an opening x without a closing x.
You have an opening x without a closing x
You have a closing x without an opening x.
You have a closing x> without an opening x.

So I decided to go back to Word and delete what I had in bold. I now have You have an opening x without a closing x

You have a closing x without an opening x.

and

a whole bunch of html that I can't put here but the words say style definitions, msonormal, widow orphan, etc. etc. within the body of my review.

OH and I just got You have an opening x without a closing x.
You have a closing x without an opening x. when I tried to post this reply - THUS THE xss

OH and I tried Notepad..I'm done with attempting to post reviews until this is fixed or someone wants to post it for me.

RE: I can't spend

Jo, I paste into Notepad, then copy everything again from Notepad and paste into the WTF editor. I use the editor to add bold and italics.

Is this message displayed above the title input box or the review body input box?

If it's the title box, remember that this field cannot have HTML.

The review body box does allow HTML, but it's limited to these tags:

<b>, <i>, <br>, <p>, and <a href>

RE: I can't spend

YIKES I've been here for 8 1/2 years. I know how to submit reviews. And I can read. I know there is no html in titles. My review right now is naked. There is no html in it at all. I could not use links, bold or any function so I figured if I got rid of anything this system thought was html I could publish it. I cannot.

Here you go

My friend buys fitness items on line like I buy jewelry. She has the Total Gym Elite which is very similar to the Total Gym 1700 Club. There are differences but one is that the Total Gym Elite can only be bought at QVC.

The price is in the $325 range which in my opinion is a good price for a machine I think gives you a lot for the money.

The Total Gym is made by FitnessQuest. Like all of these systems the Elite requires little assembly or maintenance.

Total Gym Elite claims to combine strength training, cardiovascular conditioning, and flexibility in 20 minutes a day.

The measurements are 51 inches long by 15 inches wide by 10 inches high when folded. By the way folding the Elite was very easy. When open it is 44 inches high by 16 inches wide by 94 inches high. The maximum weight is up to 275 pounds.

You’ll get a one-year limited warranty.

You’ll get an mat that you can put the Elite on; the flexibility bar (called the Pilates bar on the 1700) which you can see at the base of the Total Gym Elite; press up bar; dip bar, and a t-bar.

The Elite has a nicely padded back. My friend keeps it in her slightly moldy smelling basement (hope she doesn’t read this) but the smell had done no damage to the Elite.

You’ll also get a DVD, a chart explaining and showing how to do exercises. I flipped through these and found them helpful for my friend. I have been on many Total Gym machines so I didn’t need the help.

The Elite has 6 resistance levels going from 4% to 60%. What this means is if you have the resistance at the highest point you'll be moving 60% of your body weight rather than at the lowest when you'll be lifting 4%.

There is a knob on the back. I pulled it out and easily lifted the board to a height that was challenging for me.

The padded bench felt well built and was comfortable. We are told we can do 60 exercises on this. I didn’t do 60 but I did a lot.

Some examples of the exercises I did include using the cable which attached in a second, lying on my back and I was then able to lie down and do flyes for my chest and overhead chest presses. Turning over I could do triceps kickbacks for the muscle on the underside of the upper arm.

Lying on my stomach and putting the triceps bar on the front of the Elite which is the part on the floor I can then go back and forth on the padded board working my triceps and shoulders. In this same position get on your knees and push the board back and forth. When the board is closest to the back you’ll be flat much like you may do on a stability ball.

One last exercise I did involved lying on my back with the flexibility bar. As I pushed up and down I was doing crunches. To add to these put your arms behind your head look up at the ceiling and raise your head up for a double crunch.

I really like the Total Gym Elite and I like QVC. One of the biggest differences between the 1700 and the Elite is that the 1700 gives you a weight bar that allows you to add up to 75 pounds of additional free weights to increase your workout. The weights are sold separately
but that’s a nice feature especially for people who like the feeling of using weights
