**12/15/08*** Edited to correct the statement about these reviews in the "Most Popular" lists. These reviews are NOT counted in the "Most Popular" lists.
The problem with the "Most Popular" lists has been resolved. The reviews in this state are now being counted for these lists.

Ghost Reviews?
Not sure if this is the place for my question, but here goes...
I wrote a review about "Crocs RX Cloud" shoes and it has vanished. I know there was a women who wrote a review as well and hers seems to be gone too. Any idea if you can find them and post them again? |

RE: Reviews without products
It seems really odd the way that this seems to have worked. I just was checking a newer member's profile and essentially *everything* after a certain date (the end of May of last year) has Product Unavailable on it. Even films that are prequels of other things he has written on later. The later films aren't necessarily *later*, just written later.
The same goes with my stuff except for the fact that my product dates were earlier.
Hmm. It shifted back into phase or something. How odd. Maybe it is a server issue?

I've seen that happen before, Ander - entire categories "go ghost," and then when you refresh the page eveything's back to normal. I think it happens when they're in the process of updating the catalog or performing some other CPU-intensive operation on the fly.

Product changed!
I have a problem that I think is related to to switchoever to the new catalog. Last June I posted a review on the HP Photosmart C6180. The product has changed now from that to the Pioneer DVR-633H-S DVD Recorder. Others' reviews of the Photosmart has changed too. This needs to be changed back to the product we reviewed.. |

A Complex of Problems
The problem described (Reviews Without Products) is only the most recent problem I've discovered with some of my older reviews. I've also had reviews for products (mostly books, but some CDs) that have disappeared from the search completely, although the review can still be found from my profile (with product information), and reviews for products that show up on a search, but the review listing doesn't include my review.
In all cases, they're still showing up in my profile listing, and most of them still have product information attached.
I don't know if these are related problems or not, but I do know that these are not for the most part books I've SAPed -- most of them were in the database when I did the review.
I've considered publishing my own index on my Web site, but if people are looking for the product and not for me, that doesn't do much good. I've periodically sent lists with links to the CLs (including most of my reviews of works by a couple of authors in particular), which is about all I can think of to do. (I only just discovered this thread.)
Anyway, I'm glad to hear that you're aware of the problem and working on it, but wanted to let you know about a few additional wrinkles. |

Just wanted to note that 'A Complex of Problems ' sounds like the working title for the next James Bond film.
That is it.

RE: Reviews without products
I actually had this happen to 2 of my reviews that I just wrote about a week ago.
I was just wondering if they will still count towards the promotion since there isn't any category info or product info.
I was just wondering if anyone knew if they would count or not. If not, I might just write a couple extra reviews. |

LOL...I completely forgot all about dress shoes. He was stuck wearing his bright red tennis shoes. They go well with the outfit don't they? :)
At least he was the one that demanded to wear his tie! |

Damon --
if saxguy's problem is the same as mine, looking at his review listing won't tell you anything: my "missing" reviews still show up there, but not in a search, which is where they really need to be. |

..??
So how does this differ from the ongoing search . . .'problems' on the site..??
There are many products on the site that apparently are 'unavailable', as in not found, by search.
Or are you talking about specific product URL pages where other product reviews are available but not yours..?? Which you believe is published at that URL..??
Just curious what you mean.
