Mattresses

I've read a lot of reviews on Restonic mattresses. Some good, some bad. Just wondering if the people who loved their new mattress still do love their new mattress.

RE: Mattresses

Good question, Susan!

I once did a coffeemaker review and raved it up, then it started doing horrible stuff and I had to revise the review and change my rating. ha ha. I hated that, though, and hoped that no one bought one on my say so.

Susan, I have received EMAILS from persons long after a review was written asking me exactly what you asked here. And I replied to them. So, perhaps you could do that.

I notice that you're new to Epinions. Welcome! If you want to ask a Reviewer about a mattress, click on his/her name and their Email address is usually on their profile page. Just click on it, and you'll be in the letter mode.

Thanks for the good question and hope you get an anwer.

Lorace

RE: Mattresses

You could always click on the "Comment" link and ask the question there. Ask three or four reviewers and you're bound to get a couple of answers.

comment on Corsicana mattress

I'd like to warn folks about Corsicana Bedding. They claim to be committed to customer satisfaction and offer a 20 yr. warranty on their products, but it's all B.S. I am stuck with a Rest Assured mattress and boxspring that has been kept scrupulopusly clean and covered while being slept on alone by one 145 lb. person (me) for 35 nights and by me and my husband (193 lbs.) for 25 nights and is now leaning up against the wall in the den while we sleep better on a 4" futon. The manager of the store told me when I was looking at the mattresses that this mattress was an excellent mattress, a very good value, had this great warranty, etc. After I called to complain about the backaches it was giving me, he said, "Well, it's just a cheap mattress." I called the manfacturer and was told they would honor their committment to customer satisfaction and exchange the mattress for a different style, one more comfortable for us. She said I could bring the mattress to the closest facility (which actually isn't too far - one of the reasons I chose it, local goods) or see if the store manager would agree to the exchange. I called him and he said to have this person call him to affirm what I had told him. Then the woman called me back and had a whole different story - someone would have to inspect the mattress and determine that it has more than 2 inches of sag before they would exchange it. I am disgusted with Corsicana and Future Tech of Lawrenceburg, TN, will never again patronize these businesses, and want to warn other people of the perils of dealing with these people.

You should write your mattress up as a review on Epinions, since few people will see your complaint here.

If Corsicana is not one of the brands listed on Epinions, there is a chance that one of the Category Leads can add it. You should contact pogomom (pogomom@hotmail.com) and ask her if your make and model of mattress can be added. If you do sent her an e-mail, be sure to give her the following information:

Manufacturer
Model name/number
Price
The manufacturer's Web site address
A link to a photo of the mattress

Let me know if you have any questions.

sleepworthy mattress

You should try a Sleepworthy mattress. They are less expensive than the other popular S mattresses (Sealy, Serta, Simmons) and sleep like a dream. I love mine and have had no problems!

RE: comment on Corsicana mattress

I have a friend who is dealing with basically the same issues with Corsicana. Her mattress was replaced after it began sagging in the middle. The mattress they replaced it with did the same thing. When she talked to a regional manager for Corsicana about the issues, she was told that Corsicana had discontinued making that line of mattresses because they were defective. However, they offered to provide her with another mattress, but she would have to pay the delivery fee. SHe said no and then she contacted the Better Business Bureau in Texas and filed a complaint. She has seen some progress, although they are still offering to replace the mattress. At this point, she just wants her money back so she can buy a reliable, and comfortable mattress. She has also considered retaining legal counsel to sue them for products liability, and breach of warranty. If anyone else out there is having trouble with a Corsicana Mattress, you should contact the Better Business Bureau in Texas.

RE: comment on Corsicana mattress

I have an issue with a Corsicana Mattress Queen Pillow Soft. This was a 30th Anniversary Edition from 2001. Does anyone else have this particular mattress?

Send me an email at john.horn@grandecom.net, if you have one of these mattresses.

corsicana bedding inc

My son has one of their sets, but the store he bought it at is out of business. I tracked it down to Corsicana bedding, but not real sure just which set it is. Luckily we live in Fort Worth and intend to take it to their front door. His mattress is just like a hole in the middle, less than two years old. Knowing my son he won't have the receipt on it but if nothing else I intend to get it replaced.

mattress

Ive been in bedding business since 1986, and very rarely do i see mattresses that really had something wrong with them. If something is wrong, its usually cause the owner didnt have a proper frame (especially on a queen size), put a new mattress on an old box spring, had extra foam/boards under the mattresss, or thinks body impressions means sagging. Corsicana is one brand we have sold two years now, and havent had one single complaint. They use the same spring systems found in some "big s" brands. I recommend the Comfort PLush for a great midgrade set.

RE: mattress

I'm considering buying a Corsicana mattress from someone who posted it in a newspaper. She said it's never been used, still in the plastic. It's a queen pillow-soft American model. Any more insights into this company? The price is hard to beat! Did those with problems have a frame with a middle bar? Anyone else who has had luck with this brand?

RE: sleepworthy mattress

When you caried the mattress back did they charge you a "pro-rate" on the warranty?
I have a Regalia mattress from Them that is 5 years old. The store I purchased it from is also out of business. I was told when I purchased the mattress that there was a 15 year non-pro-rated warranty on the mattress. Now that the mattress sags so badly on the edges that you can't sleep on it, Corsicana Mattress Company says I have to pay one-third of the cost of the mattress to have it replaced. Even the companies on the internet that sell the Regalia mattress claim it has a non-pro-rated warranty. Now what is the deal? Do tehy have a non-pro-rated warranty or not.

RE: sleepworthy mattress

I have been a dealer with Corsicana Bedding for four years and NEVER have they had a non-pro-rated warranty. The store you bought it from fed you a line to get you to purchase a bed. Unfortunately, that's how alot of these "fly by night" dealers work. In every mattress there is supposed to be a warranty card that fully explains the warranty. If possible, I would switch to the comfort plush(non-pillowtop). It's the best spring mattress they carry, unless you switch to a memory foam mattress. I did 4 years ago and will never sleep on a spring bed again!!

RE: sleepworthy mattress

Hi. Just wanted to know if you still like your Sleepworthy? I'm ready to buy one, and accidentally came across this Epinions page. Please let me know since it's been a year and a half since your post about liking your Sleepworthy. Thanks

RE: sleepworthy mattress

I have an opportunity to purchase a Corsicana Euro Visco King for $949 and a Queen for $745. The prices seem to be good but I can't find much info on the web to make an educated decision. Got any advice or Corsicana information?

RE: sleepworthy mattress

I bought a Sleepworthy Empress mattress in 1998 and used it for a year until moving overseas. It was the third mattress that my wife and I bought in a space of two years, and it was not only the only one that provided a comfortable night's sleep for me, but it was the least expensive of the three.

When we left the country, we put the Sleepworthy in storage until returning to the U.S. in summer 2006. We moved into a house that already had a decent-looking bed, so we just used what was there (it had belonged to close friends). A month later my wife was complaining of back pain; previously, I had been the complainer, but for some reason this mattress wasn't bothering me.

We pulled the Sleepworthy out of storage and set it up. My wife got the first decent night's sleep she'd had in a long while, and I'm finding it extremely comfortable, too -- far superior to the better-known mattress that came with the house.

The Sleepworthy mattresses are manufactured by a family business in North Carolina. They're a little hard to find, as they're mainly marketed only in the Southeast, I believe. You might try contacting the company directly; that's what I did, and they gave me the name of a retailer where I was living in Charlotte, N.C.

RE: comment on Corsicana mattress

well let me tell you i have dealt in mattresses for quite sometime and believe me the national standard on replacing a mattress is 1 and a half inches to 2 inches of sagging.first of all i am proud to own a corsicanna mattress ans i think it is obsurd to think that the mattress should not be looked at and examined before considering a replacement.it sounds like your complaint should be with your retailer.people feal as if a mattress set should be replaced just because they think so.well let me tell you all national manufactures work the same and thats a fact so deal with it.

RE: comment on Corsicana mattress

again it sounds like your problem started with the associate of the store and the manager.why scrutinize a fine product like corsicana bedding just because someone upset your fealings simply because the mattress needs to be examined it sounds as if you have not done your homework .as i myself am a owner of a corsicana mattress set for quite some years and it simply is the best mattress i have ever owned.
