corsicana

I am dealing with a place in Springfield, Or.
Here is an update: I still can't get this warehouse to even call me back. However, I did call Corsicana directly, and talked to the rep for this area. They say that they have never had any mattresses with a "bad batch of foam" and they are also concerned about this seller. Obviously the store lied and is trying to screw me over. I probably recieved used beds. If this is the same store you are having trouble with, you should send me a message and I will give you the Corsicana reps name and number, if there is more than one of us going through this perhaps we could get our money back. I bought it from Northwest Beds and More. I've looked on the BBB and they have had a few complaints filed against them already.
Either way, these are still just poor quality mattresses. A good quality mattress would never sell so cheaply to begin with. I would never buy this brand if I had know what I'd be going through.

Who is the "you" you mention in your post? I can't tell from the context.

When you reply to a specific post, click on the "Quote" link on the right to quote that post in your message. Then it's absolutely clear who you are directing your comments toward.

Aha! Thanks, Bob.

I just took possession of a Desire mattress from Unclaimed Freight in Arlington, Texas today (made by Corsicana). It is a 14-inch thick euro top, with springs and foam (not sure if there is memory foam or not). I literally just took possession today. Is this, by chance, the replacement mattress you took? I will post again if I have any problems. Supposedly, my salesman will replace mine within the first year if there are any problems. I have the warranty card, too. So, we will see.

Last August I purchased a King Mattress Set. I had it roughly two weeks before it had a huge dent in it. I say dent because it was there all the time. You could roll up hill to the other side of the bed. I am not as skinny as I use to be but, I also don't weigh that much to make a permanant sink in a new mattress. I called the store she told me there was nothing she could do. I travel a lot and was out of state for almost two months. When I got home it was still dented. I drove down to the store and made it clear there was something really wrong with that crazy thing. The store owner said that since I had been gone, several people had complained of the same problem. She said they would replace it now. She said something about the mattress having faulty springs.I told her I didn't want the same mattress, I wanted to upgrade. So now I am paying more money for the same brand. It is being delivered today. I will let you know in two weeks if anyone should buy this thing.

Hi!
You mentioned you would follow up on this mattress. What model did you buy? How has it performed so far?

I have another question. Realistically, what IS a good brand of mattress to buy? We are in the market, but, I have heard such horror stories about Sealy, Simmons, Serta, Sterns and Foster, and now Corsicana bedding. Are there any that are "safe"?

corsicana

The "new" one I got was a Corsicana, the Royal Heritage line in a plush version. I know from store to store they call the mattresses by different names, like "Desire" and "The Willow" etc to make it hard to comparison shop. It may be similar but I have no idea. Make sure you get it in writing from the salesperson about replacing it. Otherwise, your warranty won't cover it. I called the manufacturer, and they claim that they will not do anything about anything less than 2" of depression in the mattress, which is ridiculous. Honestly, I wouldn't even risk it, and I would try and return it now if you could.

Here's another update. Corsicana would do nothing, the told me I had to deal with the store. The store offered to allow me to exchange it for a a new pillowtop, the first mattress I had got (that serverely caved in). Since it was $90 cheaper than the second one, the "upgrade" I got, they would have owed me $90. However, they said they would refuse to refund the difference even if I exchanged, essentially pocketing my 90 dollars, as well as saying they would charge $50 FOR DELIVERY!!! outrageous, when it was free before and I live 5 miles away.

I have Officially filed a complaint with the BBB. This company, Northwest Beds, is scamming people and conducting dishonest business practices. I have found more people within the community going though this. Corsicana had terrible customer service also, and refused to even deal with it, and will continue to deal mattresses to this seller.

If you want to get a new mattress, I swear by Denver Mattress Company, based out of Denver of course, but now have stores in alot of states. They make the beds themselves I owned one for 3 years and it looked brand new the day I sold it (and only cuz I was moving). No sagging or anything, and they are VERY affordable. You could get a pillowtop from $600 to over $1500 I believe. I paid $350 for my mattress set a few years ago (what I paid for the p.o.s. corsicana) and it was great. You might have to pay for shipping, I will have to pay $200 to ship it but I really believe it will be worth it. If you have one in your area, even better. They are usually affiliated with the group of stores "Furniture Row".
Their website is www.denvermattress.com

Comfy in Corsicana Bed

I've read some of the reviews and I've had a different experience. I love my queen-sized, Esteem Pillow top. I fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow. My mother, who has severe back problems slept in the bed for a visit and she wanted to take it home with her. I don't know if it will last as long as some others, but I'm not convinced it won't and I'm loving it now!

RE: sleepworthy mattress

I have a Corsicana memory foam mattress that we paid well over $800 for, and it is crap! the whole side is coming out of it, and it is leaning to one side really bad. It is so out of shape that it hurts your back. I am hoping that they will warranty this because we have only had this mattress about 3 years (bought it on closeout) but probably will give us the runaround. I am wanting to go back to the dealer who sold it to us and complain and see what they have to say about it, but they might play dumb, too. But as for you, STAY AWAY!!!!! The best luck we had with a mattress is a spring air, I wish I had it back, it didn't sleep half bad when we got rid of it :) Anyway, I am sticking to name brand stuff from now on. Good luck to you.

RE: Corsicana Mattress

In response to "safe" brands, there is a brand out there, it is not very well known, although it is very well known here in Missouri where I live (The company is in Cape Giradeau) it is called Campbell Matress Company. I would feel safe owning one, in fact I think my kids have one upstairs, my mom and dad had one, my mother and father in law had a couple, and my husband's grandparents had several sets with no problems. They are reasonably priced, and I looked at a set the other day, and it was at a small furniture store here in town and the sales lady was more than glad to give me the phone number of the customer service department to talk to them about their company and their mattresses. If anyone wants any more information, please let me know. I hope they carry them in your area. Blessings to all.

New Corsicana mattress, question about size

Hello. I just went to my local mattress firm and bought a Mattress Firm Direct Ambition PIllow Top mattress which is made by Corsicana. The price came out to be $382 not including tax. When I brought it back home and propped it on top of my old box / foundation, I saw that it was significantly shorter than my old mattress, by 4 inches or maybe a little more. Is this normal to have varying sizes for mattresses? I am only about 5'7" and I frequently touch the edges of the bed or my feet hang off half way out when I am sleeping sideways stretched out. The tag says it is 74" long and I am not sure how that compares to normal full size mattresses.

Do you still love your Corsicana matttress set? Is there any sagging or visible indentions when you have been out for a while? Wanting to buy a king size and trying to get a good one for my back.

RE: Corsicana Mattress

Thanks for this post! We grew up in Southern Illinois and have relatives who live there. That is not far from Cape Girardeau, MO. I will let my relatives and friends who are in the market for mattresses there know about this company.

For all of you out there considering buying a Corsicana:
DO NOT BUY THIS BRAND!!!! of course these dealers are going to promote their product. It's a bunch of B.S. Here's the nightmare expeirience I'm going through right now:
about 6 months ago I was broke and got talked into buying a pillowtop Winslow model from the "Royal Heritage" line Corsicana makes. The dealer was in a shady warehouse, I should have been more careful to begin with. After a month I noticed indentations where I sleep. Being very busy I didnt think much of it, until recently I had back pain and the sagging was very noticeabe. Please note that I sleep alone and weigh 110 pound. I called the store, and the dealer claimed that my bed was defective, that the company sent some out with a "bad batch of foam", and that dozens of others who bought the same bed had the same problem. He offered a refund, but I was stupid and decided to "upgrade" and paid even more for a "nicer" one. They exchanged it without any trouble. However, I have had this new one, a plush version of the same line, for 2 WEEKS and its is caving in worse than the other. I don't care what any seller says about standard "settling", a mattress should never be sinking in that much, whether 1 or 2 or 10 inches, especially after that use. I called the dealer and he now acts as if he has no idea what I'm talking about. He made me take pictures to prove I wasnt making it up. He said I probably won't have anything done about it, despite the warranty, and I have to wait until he "files a claim with the manufacturer". This is piece of crap bed and now they are trying to rip me off. Granted I have not dealt directly with Corsicana, yet. But the moral of the story: these are terrible quality and DON'T BUY ONE, no matter how cheap it is or what a great deal it seems like. Fork over a little extra and at least get a better brand (if you want a great deal and good quality, I highly recommend Denver Mattress CO). Alot of these beds are being sold as clearance and closeouts, but as I've learned, many dealers like mine are selling used and refurbished beds as new, especially with these cheaper brands. BUYER BEWARE! Well, that's my two cents. I will update once I find out what will be done about this one I have.

Hi!

Just reporting back in, as I said I would. I have hit the 6-month mark with my Corsicana mattress and I absolutely love it.

You had mentioned they change the names of the mattresses from store to store. But, on the Corsicana Mattress website, you can see series numbers and such for each mattress - those never change.

On the site, there are different "lines" of the mattresses. The one that I bought is in the Pinnacle line and is named Desire. The style number is 190-3.

What I found helpful in researching the mattresses prior to buying is to know the specs of the ones that I find comfortable. This helped with comparison shopping and with making sure I was getting what I found most comfortable. This will also help if you are considering buying a Corsicana mattress, but, the names are different from the store at which you are shopping versus other stores, or versus the website. I can't imagine why they would have different names from the store to the website, because mine didn't. It was called the Desire in the store and on the website. But, nevertheless, if you know the specifications, you can find the Corsicana mattress online.

Continued....

RE: Corsicana Mattress

...Continued from Previous Post

Again, I have the Desire mattress, from the Pinnacle Series. The specs for my mattress can be found at the following link, listed under Desire:

http://www.corsicanabedding.com/2007pinnacle-foamencased.html

After I read all the comments on this board (of course, by then I had already paid for my mattress and was awaiting delivery), I called Corsicana Bedding and spoke with a very nice customer service representative. She was very knowledgable about the product and, while she did not know the names of the mattresses per se, she was dead on in her matching my specifications to the model number, off the top of her head!

I know that everyone's experience may not be the same, but I really love my mattress. We had had financial difficulties for most of our marriage and had to sleep on used, hand-me-down mattresses. It had taken a toll on our backs. I spent $1000 on this set, which is not considered a price to be paid for a top of the line mattress, by any means. But, what we got is HEAVEN! I didn't realize what toll bad mattresses and not getting a good night's sleep had taken on our bodies, until we got this mattress.

We recently went to spend our anniversary at a 5-star hotel. I am such a snob now until I didn't sleep as well on their mattresses (which were Sealy, I think, and, supposedly top of the line). I travel a lot in my line of work, too, but I can never wait to get back home to get to my bed; it is the best!

I will write back in in another 6 months. I hope I am still liking my mattress then, too.

One More Thing

Sorry...

I meant to say that, at the store I purchased my Corsicana mattress, at the foot of the "bed", they had the name of the mattress, along with the specs. I found out that this spec sheet was given to them by Corsicana mattresses. I asked them to make me a copy of it prior to purchasing. They gave me the copy and it helped me to do some comparison shopping. I would imagine that any reputable Corsicana Bedding retailer would have these sheets.

Thanks!

RE: Corsicana Mattress

I read a few comments on the Corsicana Mattress and has had the same problems with it. A BIG DENT in the mattress. We brought it back to the store we bought it from and had it replaced, but still have the SAME problem.... The store claims that we had a defected one, but the problem still occurred in the mattress. It has created problems for our backs (Both my husband and myself). So I wrote to the company that makes those mattress and hope we will get a response from them.

RE: corsicana bedding

We rotate our mattress regularly, but the problem still occurred. So maybe you feel that there is NO problem, but there are quite abit that feels differently, so that company has not stood behind their product and we feels that they are telling a tall tale to their vendors also. Yes we spent $1200.00 on just the top mattress, so it's not like we paid cheaply for this mattress. Whether you spend more or less, they should still satisfy their customers 100% and maybe they will be returning future customers.

RE: Corsicana Bedding

Being a dealer of Corsicana myself, what the retailer told you about not feeling when the other moves was just a sales pitch or should I say a lie. The only way you would never not feel when another person moves is with an all foam mattress. As far as you dealing with another retailer with your return, you should not have any problems b/c your warranty is with Corsicana and not the retailer. If your problem is truly a warramty issue and not a comfort issue Corsicana is the best about handling warranty claims. GOOD LUCK!

RE: Corsicana Mattress

It sounds like your problem is with the retailer selling refurbished mattresses as new and not with Corsicana. Do your homework and don't deal with shady dealers.

Corsica Comfort Plus Mattress, Horizon series

Can anyone tell me anything about the King size mattress that Corsica Bedding has in the Comfort Plush Horizon Series? I am trying to find my son a new mattress but can't afford a real expensive one. I had seen this particular one, but don't know if it is firm enough for someone with a bad back. Please, I would like some info if anyone knows anything about this mattress.
