InfinitiPhoto.com Scam

Do not buy from InfinitiPhoto.com. They are running a scam. I ordered a Sony DSC-1M yesterday and received an email (attached) saying I needed to call them and "confirm" my order. I had feeling before I called that it was a scam. Sure enough, the guy asks me "What kind of battery do you want with that?" What?!? No battery? (BTW, I double-checked their web site, the product specs describe the lithium battery twice.) I laughed and told the guy he was running a scam. He said I should complain to Sony and started rattling off an 800 phone number. Then I said, "allright, I will take it without a battery and find a battery somewhere else." He didn't like that. Clearly he was going to lose money on the camera at the advertise price if he couldn't sell me the battery or other over-priced accessories. So he then feigns hurt feelings for being called a scamster and I asked if he could just cancel the order. "I already cancelled it" was his reply.

Do you think their accessories are overpriced??? Case in point, Infiniti sells a no-name 512MB memory stick duo for $249, TigerDirect sells Sony-brand equivalent for $99.99, other brands are cheaper.

Infinitiphoto IS bestpricecameras

I was looking for a GS400 camera and, naturally, stumbled on infinitiphoto.com with their impossibly low price. After reading online about what a scam they are, I decided not to order from them and found another webpage with a great price, bestpricecamera.com. Low and behold, I got the SAME sales guy from the other place. I told him that I talked to him at infinitiphoto.com and he told me that he never heard of them. I thought I might have miswrote the numbers and names, so I went to the infinitiphoto webpage and checked.

I called him back and told him that my 30-second search showed this to be the case and I was "accidentally" disconnected. I called back again and, after an apology, I was quickly--within seconds--transferred to another sales person who told me that "Ben" was busy with another call. I called back Ben's extension several times and he didn't answer.

I was told at one time by a sales person that they had 250 sales people, and another time the number was 75--and yet I managed to get Ben on more than one occasion. With this kind of luck, I may have to play the lottery! He told me that all the negative reviews online were from competitors; How he was certain of this, I am not sure.

When I finally got through to him the last time, he said that they were affiliated with infinitiphoto but were different companies--something too ridiculous and confusing to follow. I said, "When I asked you before, you said you never even heard of infinitiphoto." He literally used an excuse that was equivalent to when our government uses, "national security" to avoid dealing with an issue.

Earlier he had said to me, "Look, all I can do is give you my word." Back in the day, that used to mean something. To the unscrupulous, it is just another sales technique.

His word...

His word is worth about as much as these bait and switch websites.

I am checking to see if this website is in the database. If so, you should write at least an express review (under 200 words) to warn consumers of this site's tactics. I will be back with info on how to do do that if I find the site in the DB.

If we all write reviews about these places, people will see them and will be warned and, hopefully, will avoid these types of sites.

By the way, there already is a thread for this website further down. I would appreciate it if you could move your posts to that thread and I will delete this one so we have just one thread for the same site going. Otherwise, the boards get all clogged with duplicate threads. When you copy your posts to the existing thread, leave a message here that you did so I can delete this one, please.

Thanks!

Patty

RE: www.bestpricecameras.com

What a crock these guys are....ordered a DVD camcorder for $539. Online order went thru. Said nothing about camera not being available. Well 2 weeks went by - no camera. Decided to call - they said they tried to contact me (did not)and that the camera was backordered and would be available in 2.5 weeks. OK. so this would be 12/5/05

So I call today to check - no the camera will not come in until after Xmas now. But they do have a full kit for $779 that they could ship right away.

Told me that what I ordered was OEM, no battery, no manuals, just the camera. The webpage does NOT state that - not one place! What a rip off - Camera was a "lost leader" to get me there and order a kit.

Will NEVER do business with them and hope others will not too.

Do not order from Best Price Camera www.BestPriceCameras.com

www.expresscameras.com

Add www.expresscameras.com to the list of scam photography sites. It's the same process - you place an order, get an e-mail asking you to call and comfirm a while later, and then comes the experience of dealing with the weasles. They tried to sell me everything from memory cards to freeze dried turkey giblets, and when I insisted that I just wanted what I ordered, I was told "okay" and saw an e-mail 10 minutes later stating the merchandise was backordered and could not be shipped for at least a month. Watch out, and be leary of sites that offer considerable discounts over the market rate.

Infinitiphoto.com

This is the same company as those mentioned above. My experiance:
Bought lowest found priced Canon DV camcorder at website. After 2 days, company called and asked what size battery I wanted with this camcorder and gave me $70-$130 price range. I was told battery is not included in cost when I asked where the battery was that Canon put in the box at the factory? Said 2 types of kits are sent to authorized sellers, with and without battery. I chose lowest priced battery, instead of cancelling, because the price was still lower than anywhere else. 3 days later, after seeing money gone from my account $95.00 more than authorized to seller, I called and was told there was an extra fee for shipping the battery in the box and also an additional insurance fee for the battery. The whole package weighed 2.0lbs for the camera, manuals, accessories and battery and was all in one box. I am contacting Mastercard about this practice and also the BBB and New York Attorney General about this fraudulent practice. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM or their related "shell" company names. They are crooked dealers!

BestPriceCamera.com

12/26/2005

Well it seems BestPriceCamera.com can reach lower. They billed me $500.00 and never sent me anything. I had ordered a Canon Rebel XT body and knew that was what I was going to get. Two days before Christmas the item never came so I called to cancel. “Victor” was my rude sales guy/manager. He told me the item never shipped and billed me anyway. Hope my credit card company can help me out.

Wow, I wish I read this first. I ordered a camcorder from Bestpricecameras.com and got the same sort of response listed above. As "Adam" continued to try and upsell me everything and the kitchen sink for the camera. He became more and more belligerent the more I refused his generous offers. I don't think my amusement at his ordeal helped the situation any. I told him to quit or he'd lose the order. When he didn't, I cancelled. For anyone considering using these guys, beware.

bestpricecameras.com

I wish I had come looking at these posts before ordering as well! I ordered my Canon 20D in one of the kits 10 days ago, got a confirmation call 2 days later with the guy trying to sell me batteries. I was like, whatever, just send me the cheaper one. Then I thought about it, looked around and found them cheaper elsewhere, called the company back and cancelled the batteries and the guy was kinda snotty, like how are you going to use the camera? And I told him I found a better price elsewhere. So going on over a week now, I haven't been charged for it, no other emails, nothing. I call them today. Oh well that's backordered 2-3 weeks. I was raving. I told them I was lied to and that I was very unhappy with the service and to cancel my order. It took me a couple times telling them to cancel before they did. Now I worry they will still charge my account, so I'm keeping an eye on it. Stay away from them!!!

I had a similar experience with bestpricecameras.com. Adam was the ripoff artest I dealt with. They called me two days after placing the order. He wanted to confirm my credit card. Then he informed me that the camera didn't come with a battery. He wasn't happy when I told him I didn't want to order a battery from him. He then told me it would ship in 2-4 weeks. I hung up. Called back in 5 minutes and told ADAM I wanted to cancel. He said its alread done. Amazing these guys can stay in business. Hopefully we can get the word out and shut these guys down.

bestpricecameras.com

i got scammed too. i worked for a large internet provided for a number of years, then for a large computer mfg company. i thought i knew better when it came to shopping online. i feel like such an idiot. i *found* the nikon d70s kit on bestpricecameras.com for an insanely low price. blinded by the sales price, i ordered it. i rec'd an email stating that i would need to confirm the order, etc. they called me on a sunday morning to confirm it. they *sold* me a battery (i thought it came with one) and never did give me a total price, but i was half asleep so i didnt catch it. ffw 4 weeks, i tried to call them during stated business hours becuase i hadnt heard anything about my order and my emails had not been returned. after fighting with the phone system i got a recording saying that i had reached them outside of business hours. even though their web site states the hours and i was well within. i never did get ahold of them, but about a week later 2 charges showed up on my credit card for a total of about the same as what the camera would have cost. one of the charges is for a walgreens on the other side of the country from me for $535. how in the heck do you spend $535 at a drug store?!?! i think they took my credit card number and used it for other stuff. not only are they scamsters with the product they sell, but possibly theives too. be super careful shopping online. like i learned, if its too good to be true, it probably isnt real.
-feeling scammed and other yucky feelings, miranda

They are a complete rip, guy calls me up asks me if I want an extended battery and quick charger for $30 more, I say ok, try's to sell me an extended warranty, i say no. They go ahead and add it on anyhow, ship it, original price ordered was $265, price charged to my carad $407.

Total scam, they will just hang up if you call them and ask them for an RMA number.

AVOID bestpricecameras.com at ALL COST

bestcamera again

Just got scammed also with a Panasonic PV-GS300 advertised at $489 on their web site.
I paid a total of $869.99 for a non-existing "deluxe package" and a supposed "optional" Battery and Charger.
Can't return the camera. They never replied to my calls within the "7 days".
Too Bad, the camera is great.
Nobody has filed a complaint with the FTC yet?
Why not make a joint complaint and take these crooks out of the market?

Bestpricecameras + Genius Camera ??

I knew if I checked here y'all would validate my suspicions about BPC. I mean, the Rebel XT at $130 below the best discount price anywhere else! Sony 50" HDLP at $300 below.

Thanks for the heads up. Otherwise, when I skipped over the ridiculous price, I would always have wondered..."gee, maybe it was just an overstock sale".

When I called them, I asked if they have (XT's) in stock. They said "No, but we will get them within 10 days."

Right.

Apparently thay make more money this way than by completing a normal sale. This is obviously a business model that works for them, but it is based on customer ignorance. Thanks to all of us for educating one another and hopefully the masses.

Anyone know if Genius Camera is one of their satellite companies? They also post the same price, and the web-link site indicates the XT is not in stock at their store.

bestpricecameras

Hey,
One of my mates just ordered for me a Sony T9 camera on www.bestpricecameras.com .The price looked more than interesting (wondered why) but I figured the company/website looked pretty serious. Later on , Infinity photo called my mate to ask him if he wanted to purchase a battery and a charger, cuz the camera doesn't come with it (????). My buddy called me then to say that the price went up from $315 to $509. What the *%@£??
Today I found your website where everyone agrees that this company is a big scam. I freaked out!
So I called my mate telling him to cancel the order, block his credit card.
He called Victor (not Ben, or maybe this is Ben too!?) at Infinity Photo. The dude refused to do anything pretending that the package was shipped already.
Then I called them and here's what they do. According to "Victor", this company buys tons of products from Sony, Canon.... that's why they are so cheap. On the flip side, items come one by one, so there's NO RETAIL BOX (which always includes a battery, a charger...).

So to sum it up, what you buy is ONLY the item you see on their website. Don't expect to receive the same box that you'd find in a retail store. They sell packages that you can upgrade (or they make you do so).
Finally, the more items are shipped to you the more expensive the shipping gets!!!!
After 30 min of discussion with Victor, he decided to refund $50 (the new shipping price) on my buddy's credit card. I should get it on Monday. if not you'll read me soon!

All in all, go buy somewhere else! such as B&H camera.
Good luck and think twice. And thanks to everyone who writes on their stories (shorter than mine!)

G-MAN (France)

BestPriceCameras Scam

I have to agree with everyone of the above opinion. Unfortunately their prices seemed to good and I bought after all. Here is my story:

I have bought a Canon EF70-300 USM IS from this joint and though I get a good deal (for soem reason I did not reserach their rating prior to buying from them like i normaly do). The lens was listed at $519 and I would receive a free tripod, lens cleaning kit, and LCD cover protector. When I was gone, they called my wife at home to "confirm" the order. Well, they did their usual tactics and upsold my wife to an order of 729.99, which includes a 3-piece hi-res filter kit, a lens pouch and a 5-year warranty, as well as a hood. Beside the fact that I would not have wanted all this, I thought to check out the deal at B&H Photo and they came up $35 cheaper. Well, I received the package 4 days later and received the lens, the warranty, the filter kit, and the pouch. No tripod, cleaning kit, LCD cover or hood were in the box. I tried to contact them several times but no answer. I went to B&H and quote the stuff I actually received and bestrpricecameras "overcharged" $120. I probably never see any of the other items based on experiences that other people had with them.
IF YOU PLAN ON BUYING FROM THEM....DO NOT....DO NOT...DO NOT.....
If the deal seems better than any place else, it is.....
Their practices are boderline criminal and I will investigate my further actions to make sure they get closed down

4/18/05: ATTENTION-ATTENTION
My debit card was just charged for $98.96 from a company who verified my credit card info at a Brooklyn cell phone. Somebody authorized several credit cards under that same phone number.
I was a little surprised to find out that the only time I used my card was at bestpricecameras.com who is based in Brooklyn. They are not only crooks, they also employ them. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY OF YOUR CREDIT CARD INFO AND STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!!!!!!!

RE: bestpricecamera.com

Wow, I really wish I would have known of this website prior to my business transaction with Best Price Camera. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau against BPC and strongly recommend others to do the same. BBB does not have the authority to enforce retribution or repayment but unless some one else has a better idea the "black mark" from the BBB is a start.

If any one knows of a way to file a claim against this company I would be glad to hear it. I can not believe there would not be some type of safeguard against a company like BPC. Is there some way to place a complaint on their website for others to see prior to them doing business with those scam artists?

Best Price Cameras is a Scam

I owe a ton to you folks here on Epinions.

First I tried PCandPlasma and got the same experience as everyone else. The price was too low and the guy was incredibly rude and pushy. I asked him why the TV was so cheap(the Sony KDSR60XBR1 Grand Wega which is supposedly being sold at $2599.99, a whopping 2Gs below retail). He said it was the Taiwanese version that lacked the US warranty. I was like "well that's good to know because your website says nothing about that." After pushing him for a while he said "Well you dont really want that one anyway because it has Taiwanese menus and you wont be able to read them. I mean, I've worked in commission sales and know that there are different selling styles but my lord! I was like "well, were you planning on telling me that somehow before I ordered it online?" It says nothing about this on the website! The guy literally sounded like he was in a room like the one from the movie "Boiler Room" where young commission driven stock monkeys are pushing junk stocks under extreme pressure. This stuff is a reality.

So I dumped them and I called BPC who had a mysteriously similar low price (I mean when two "companies are within $20 of each other at 2Gs below retail, come on!) and got a similarly slimy New York scamster. I mean literally, it might have been the same guy in the same room or at least another guy, probably a friend of the other guy. I call and he answers "Hello?" and I say "I wanted to ask you about one of your TVs." "Which one?" and then I told him and he said "What about it?" and I said well is this the US version with the US menus and he says "yeah, just like you would get at Best Buy, so can I place your order?" Wow. Talk about a quick sale! He couldn't even spend 20 seconds answering questions to make a 3g sale.

I agree with the other member that suspects that they are literally in the same office (or basement) together.

I am going to find out how we can bring a suit against them or get them shut down. I will be working at the Texas Supreme Court next year and will be able to figure this out. The building is closer the Attorney General's office as well. I can't wait to call these guys and tell them that they are about to get shut down.

BestPriceCamera

I almost ordered a Nikon 80-200mm lens from this outfit, but I happened to notice that they were selling the Nikon D200 several hundred dollars below the lowest prices at places like KEH and Adorama and B&H that I got suspicious. Called the president of a very-good-but-pricey camera outlet I've dealt with before and asked about BPC. He is a (nauseatingly) straight shooter, and he gave me much the same story I found described repeatedly when I Googled "bestpricecamera" and "scam." FYI, word in the retail world is that they make a good bit of their income by investing the money they receive, so even when (or if) they eventually return money for unreceived merchandise, they've made a substantial return on it. This is second-hand information, so I cannot vouch for its accuracy--but I trust the source.

I sympathize with those of you who wrote to report your own sad experiences, and while it is little consolation, those of us who were warned off by your reports are very appreciative of your efforts. Is there any way to get these scam artists blocked from coming up on Froogle and other internet search engines?

RE: bestpricecamera.com

Take them to court. Go to small claims court. They will wither show or not. If they don't show, you get a defaul judgment, thus you win. When they don't honor the judgment, go to the sherrif to have the judgement enforced, and the wages will be garnished and the like. That's why we have lawyers and courts!

FYI, you don't need a lawyer for small claims court.

mOTHA**&^%*S Worthless &%&*(%$*&, I hope they rot. Almost fell for them. They got all my creditcard info and stuff, then they asked about buying batteries..lol. I said WHAT..lol Just cancel the order. Now, I have to call by bank and cancell my checkcard and replace it. DO NOT BUY ELECTRONICS THAT COME WITHOUT THEIR BATTERIES. This is a sign of refurb and also it may not be authentic brand.

P.S. Sorry for the choice words on top.

Avoid BestPriceCameras!!!

Like others on this message board, I've been scammed by BPCs. Story: Great price advertised on their web for a Canon EF 24-105 f/4 L lens. Place the on line order, then receive an e-mail requesting I phone them. E-mail back saying just send me the lens, don't want anything else (note: they never respond to any e-mails). I finally call, and get talked into paying for an additional processing fee (not listed on the web) plus an extended warranty for the lens (sales rep said the lens only had a 90 day warranty, although Canon provides a 1 year warranty). Skipping ahead, refused the shipment, which UPS returned to them on 6/15, and am still awaiting a refund (so the post which says that they make money by using the money for investments before providing the refund might be correct). The customer service rep was extremely rude and hostile, and said I wouldn't get jack. Have filed a complaint with the BBB and a credit card dispute with my CCC, but even if the dispute is resolved in my favor, will probably be out a significant restocking fee. Do not buy from these crooks!!!

Best Price Cameras Scam

I was just shopping around for a Fujifilm s9000 and comparing prices, when I saw this site InfinityPhoto.com selling it close to 300 dollars below retail. Everything looked legit, but I just got this strange feeling. Usually when something seems too good to be true there's a catch.

So I decided to research the website to see what came up. I tried the Better Business Bureau first using their phone number, and what came up was "Best Price Cameras." There were plenty of complaints, mostly about selling practices, and close to half of complaints filed were unaddressed or ignored.

I came upon Epinions after typing "InfinityPhoto Scam" on Google and found many had been ripped off by this company. I feel bad for everyone who got lured in, and I feel lucky to have second guessed myself.

This company is 100% scam, there are many shell sites with different names all owned by the same parent company/person.

Hope this company is somehow litigated or brought down, their business practices are shady and unethical.

Do not buy from BestPriceCameras.com

DO NOT BUY FROM THESE SCAMMERS! They offer a low price on a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT and then make you call up to confirm and try to get you to buy battery and charger and more at prices even higher than their online price. The rude salesguy actually told me if I bought a Lithium Ion battery or used an existing one I owned that I would have to send it in to have them program the camera! By the time they got done it would have cost much more than many other stores I reviewed. The sales guy was pushy, rude and abnoxious and hung up on me when I cancelled the order. THESE GUYS SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN!

best price cameras - scam

I started to place an order for an Epson Powerlite S4 projector on the BPC site when I noticed the url where I was entering my credit card info was not secure (a secure site should begin with https not http)
I erased my info and did a quick search only to confirm my suspicions. I would definitely avoid this site.

Banana Boat Camera - scam, too.

I wanted to thank you all for identifying bogus photography sites. As most of us, I was tempted by low prices that are advertised on the web. I first got uneasy when I started encountering phrases like "NEW* UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED; CARRYING WARRANTY *IN MOST CASES; SHIPS IMMEDIATELY UNLESS OUT OF STOCK"; etc. I tried to contact them by sending e-mails with questions about specific products, 3 different stores - NO REPLIES! One guy kept me on the phone for 10 min, replied, then put me on hold indefinitely. If that is how they treat their sales leads, I can clearly see how they would follow-up if there are problems. I understand from your remarks that I avoided making a big mistake. Thank you again for your help.

Best price cameras:

I asked the customer service about the free shipping on Sunday and was told to call sales on Monday. I called Sales and the man said that this offer had expired and I’m getting the 2nd free offer of the light, which he said that I could sell it and I was lucky to get it. I told him that I did not need it and he said that I could sell it for $55.00, but I asked how come the “special offer” offer of the free shipping was right next to the specific camcorder I was going to order and that there was no reference of the free shipping being expired. He said that it expired 6 days ago when I asked 2 times about when it expired and I said that I could not see anywhere where it said that. I asked for his name about 2 or 3 times during the conversation, as I wanted to speak with his supervisor, which I asked for a few times. He became more and more rude and that’s when he made the interjection of my being so lucky to get the free light and he could cancel my order and I could spend $500 elsewhere. I said that he was being rude and he said that I was being rude and that I should apologize to him or he would cancel my order. I told him that I wanted a supervisor and he said there aren’t any because of the holiday, which I found was a lie after I called back the operator afterwards. I told him that I do not think it was fair that it doesn’t clearly state the free shipping and he said that he was canceling my order and I said that I wanted a supervisor and he said it was cancelled and hung up on me!

I called back and spoke with the operator and she transferred me to a supervisor, Lance, and I explained everything and asked why they have people working at this company like him, and he said that there are two sides to every story and that he was going to listen to the tape of the conversation, which is said would be great and let me know, but he said it would be internal. However, Lance said he would deduct the shipping cost after telling me that it was minimal of what “only $20” and I told him that it was $25, but then he told me that this product is not in the inventory and your company would have it maybe in 2 or 3 weeks! I am not certain if that is factual as both men seemed defensive and left me to doubt whether or not I am getting this item late as a result of my complaint. He said that if I talked with a sales dept. personal that they would have told me if it was in stock, which is why I called back afterwards (see next paragraph). I told him that I might try to find the product elsewhere in the meantime, as there has been no mention of getting it beyond what the confirmation said of taking 2 or 3 days minimum to process my order. After talking with these people I have to believe that it is intentional that my order is delayed. I will not be doing business with this company again and tell everyone I know about my experience including Internet blogs.

I called back the Sales Dept. and asked the availability of the camera and was told it WAS IN STOCK AND COULD BE SHIPPED IN ABOUT A WEEK! Lance is also part of the problem, as he intentionally delayed my order, unless he is so very, very confused. I tried to call him back, but he did not take my call as he was conveniently on the phone for 20-minutes and then he left for “30-minutes.” They asked if I would leave a message, but I had a feeling that I would not be called. Don't buy from this company!

bestpricecamera@#$%^&

agree with everything. Let me tell you my experience:

I saw canon powershot s3 is on the internet for $269.00. I followed the link and put in an order. I got confirmation email. I called a few days later to get an idea when I could expect delivery. I was told that the order had been cancelled because item was no longer in stock and an email had been sent out, which I never got.

The next day I saw the same camera for $289.00 from bestpricecamera. I put an order in and got confirmation email.

I then emailed them and said that I expected to get the original price. The very next day I got telephone call telling me that item was out of stock and not expected for 5-6 weeks. I said that i was willing to wait.

Last week I got eamil stating that the order was cancelled as per my request. I never cancelled.

They are in NYC and I filed a complaint with the department of consumer affairs saying that I expected the camera for $269.00

Best Price Cameras/Infinity Cameras

My God! I think the company you are talking about changed their name to Best Price Camera/Infinity Cameras. The same thing happened to my husband. We paid for a camera with our Discover Card and printed out the order with the confirmation number. The next day, someone called my husband and said they needed to "confirm" the order. They also said the camera didn't come with a battery and my husband said, "That's odd, on the Web site it says it comes in the box". My husband said he didn't want it and thank you for contacting me.

We received the camera two days later and that's when the fun started. They sent a "kit" with a battery and lens for an additional $500. We never authorized them to charge us for these additional items. Meanwhile, my husband tried in vain to call Best Price Camera/Infinity Cameras) to tell them they over-charged us and to fix the order. The battery came with the camera, but they charged us anyway for this stupid kit. Anyway, for four months we disputed with Discover. Don't even get me started on that! We tried and tried to get hold of Best Price Cameras via the phone and the Web. They always had a recording on. Meanwhile, Discover kept taking our charge in and out of dispute. My husband showed how they changed our order (the order number even changed because the crook on the phone put in a new order). We couldn't get hold of the company to get an RMA or even discuss the order. Finally, Discover said they would not dispute any further because we still had the merchandise. We decided to just FedEx it back and then Discover said they would dispute again. Best Price Cameras accepted the return. My husband called them after accepted the return and said he wanted the credit back. The slimy sales guy he originally talked with said that since we opened the box, we couldn't return. We had no choice but open the box. They opened it first and put the receipt in the camera box. My husband had thoroughly documented the whole transaction, took pictures of the box and showed they had changed our order and charged our credit card without our authorization. Two weeks later we had a full refund on our credit card. We threatened them with going to the Better Business Bureau and also filing a formal charge with the NY Attorney General.

Take-aways from our experience:
1. Always use AMEX for big purchases like this. I've NEVER, EVER had AMEX not go to bat for me.

2. DO NOT USE BEST PRICE CAMERA /INFINITY CAMERAS! THEY ARE CROOKS AND THE SLIME OF THE EARTH.

3. Your best bet is to go to a place like B&H Camera. That's where many professional photographers buy their equipment. We bought a camera from them and it was the best online shopping experience we have ever had.

4. Make sure you spread the word about these unethical, criminal outfits. Maybe we can put these people out of business.

Signed,

Learned a Lesson in Virginia

Best Price Cameras/Infinity Cameras

I forgot to add one other thing about our whole ordeal. Right after we ordered a camera from them, someone kept trying to use our Discover Card on the Web. We know it was them because we hadn't used this card for any other purchases. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD. Thank God Discover's Fraud Department caught the transactions.

What to do

I had placed an order at bestpricecameras.com without knowing that they are cheating. Now after placing the order I searched in the web and came up with the reviews that they are engaged in credit card misuse. Now I have been trying to contact them to cancel my order but no one receives the call. As soon as I have known about their scam, I have locked my card. What should I do now. Can they still use my card for transactions? Is there any other way to cancel the order?

How can we shut these guys down?

I wish I had found this message board sooner! Like everyone else here, I recently had a negative experience with these criminals at bestpricecameras.com! After doing some research, I've discovered that all these "low price camera" companies are the same company, or owned by the same people, probably working from the same building. You'll notice on these websites that every single one of them is closed on Saturdays! ...hmmm. I ordered a Cybershot DSC-T10 from these SCAMMERS for $285 (Sony.com sells it for $399). Later that evening I received a phone call from a salesperson "confirming" my order. I was told I had choose a battery for either $120 or $150. WHAT? This would make the camera more expensive than what Sony themselves sell it for! He then explained that I had ordered the "overseas version" and it needed a US battery and charger. He then tried to sell me a US warranty (since this version has no warranty) for an extra $50. Total price to me would be $485...that's $200 above the advertised price on their website. I tried cancelling and the guy got really upset, especially when I said I would just take the camera as it is with no battery or warranty for $285. He told me I could NOT do that and started spinning a bunch of excuses! After I eventually cancelled the order, the next day they tried to charge my card for the camera. Fortunately for me, I only had $330 available on my credit card, so they called me saying my card was declined and they wanted another credit card number. I told them the order was cancelled and I didn't want the camera! Now I am going to have to keep an eye on my card to make sure there are no fraudulent charges in the future.

How can we put an end to this illegal activity? Many more people will fall for this SCAM if it is not stopped. Can we not get a signed petition with hundreds of names and complaints and present it to the local attorney general in the state where these guys operate from? Something must be done!!!!!!

Now I REALLY want to shut these guys down!!!

Those lying, cheating, thieving #@*#$*!'s

Exactly 3 days after submitting my post (above), Best Price Cameras stole my credit card details and attempted to charge $1,100 on my card. Fortunately, the fraud unit of my CC company picked up the charges as being suspicious and put a stop on my card immediately. Now I have to wait a week to get another card, but luckily I had a low limit otherwise these CRIMINALS would have had a field day.

I have read dozens of complaints in many forums all over the web regarding these lying thieves! If anybody has legal connections in high places, PLEEEAAASE let's do something to end this ILLEGAL OPERATION. This is no worse than a stolen vehicle rackett or a drug cartel. These guys are preying on innocents like you and me, stealing our hard earned HONEST money and using it for who knows what!! For all we know they could be running all kinds of illegal operations. They need to be investigated, shut down and hopefully imprisoned.

REALLY MAD in Florida!

I've just filed a complaint!

I've gone ahead and filed a legal complaint to the New York State Attorney General!

I encourage everyone who has been "taken" by these fraudsters to do the same. The more complaints the Attorney General gets, the more chance there is that something will get done!

Here is the link to the 'Online Business' complaint form:

Thanks,

RE: I've just filed a complaint!

You know, this just happened to me today. I received a phone call from my CC security dept, telling me that unlawful charges have been added to my account and they suspected this to be fraud so we closed our account. Those guys are slimy crooks and I will do what I can to help others be aware of these thieves.

I ordered a camera thinking that I was getting a great deal. I guess I was wrong. They just sent me a UPS tracking number that weighs 4.0lbs. From the package that I bought (camera, lenses, hard carring case, tripod,etc...) I can't imagine that it weighs only 4.0LBs. I'm calling tomorrow and canceling the order. I am also writing to the NY Attorny General.

RE: InfinitiPhoto.com Scam

i'm joining the long list of people in this forum who have been scammed by the crooks at bestpricecameras.com. the salesperson also sold me a $250 charger (it was high-speed though) and a $170 no-name battery! i emailed them to cancel the order and they informed me i had to call customer service (which conviently for them opens at 11am the next day, after your order has been processed!) i waited on hold for 46 mins before someone picked up and argued with me for 10 mins that it was too late to cancel the order. i finally convinced him to say "i'll cancel your order", although my debit card was charged AFTER our conversation. thankfully, my work phone tapes all conversations and i have pulled all the tapes and sent them to the FTC. by coincedence, one of my law school roommates (fordham '95) works for the FTC so he's doing us all a favor and expediting the complaint. pretty soon www.bestpricecameras.com will be "url not recognized"...

My bad experience with Best Cameras

I ordered a Canon Rebel XT with Best Cameras online on the 25th. The guy called back to "confirm" the order, which is another way of trying to sell a battery for $180. When I wouldn't bite, they sent out an email saying "sorry we don't have the item in stock". Except that I never received the email. When I tried to track down the order today (12 days after we placed it), they told me about the email. I asked them why, if they didn't have the item in stock, they sold it to me anyway ? They had it in stock until they found out I didn't want a battery, warranty, etc. Crooks.

bestpricecameras.com@%^&*$#

I just made a purchase and gave my credit card # for a Nikon D80 package. Silly me. I should have done more research beforehand.
I just called American Express and asked them to stop the payment from this company. Hope that would stop me from any loss to this scam shop.
Also I wrote an email back to BPC to cancel and am not sure if that would make them cancel. I will call them to cancel at business hours.
thanks everyone for sharing the experience.

This sort of business should have been shut down months ago. Hope someone can do that soon.

BestPriceCamera.com

I placed an order for a ridiculously priced camcorder. When I didn't recieve the e-mail they said I would recieve shortly,
I looked up the website and noticed all the negative reviews. I immediately called the bank and cancelled the card as lost.
Luckily, the sale wasn't even posted. I guess crooks and scam artist have to sleep sometime.
Thanks to all of you who have posted your bad experiences,
you saved me from a potentially very bad experience. The moral
of the story is that con artist con greedy people, and they
apparently also scam thrifty people who are trying to save a buck.
If it sounds to good to be true, back off and buy from a reputable merchant. Thanks again for your input.

bestpricecameras.com - cc fraud

Over the past 2 weeks I have went thought the exact same scenario as most every other post. I attempted to buy a Nikon D80 with Lens and of course got the typical email and the run around with the sales rep and I cancelled my order. He became very rude and hung up on me. 8 days later I had several fraudulent charges on my CC that luckily the fraud dept caught. I then researched the company, which I should have done in the first place, and found out they are pure criminals. With the amount of people that are getting scammed & violated there has to be a more productive way of alerting the authorities than online complaint forms, etc. Someone must have some contacts in the FTC, FBI, BBB that could expedite the investigation/lawsuit against bestpricecameras and all affiliate companies. Hopefully something will be done in the near future!

Best(worst)pricedcameras.com

JVC GZ- MG77 --OK, so as you all know the bait and switch was attempted on my mother who was ordering a gift for me. Pressured her into a "upgraded" package that would include a battery that should already be included- you know the one that if you would buy this at a retail store is called included accessories. So she tells them to hold on don't place the order, she wants to check with me to see if I want this "package". She does not authorize the order. She calls me and I say no, just cancel- see the light already. She calls these "crooks" back to cancel and of corse has to leave 5 messages with no response. Next day she actually gets a "crook" on the phone they say it already shipped, can't cancel. In the mean time I find the reviews on epinions and inform her that her cc info is now stolen and they will be using her cc to buy "kevin", or whoever else there christmas gifts on her dime. I have her report her card stolen, and notify the cc company of this issue and they put it to their dispute department. So of course it has been 1-1/2 weeks and no package has arrived, (buit it already shipped- i bet they sent their elves out to reclaim the package out of the back of the delivery truck), so of course it DID NOT ship.
If you wish to be ripped off, taken advantage of, treated rude, hung up on, and your credit card info stolen to by these crooks christmas gifts- then bestpricedcameras is for you. I can picture their office now, 4 guys in a 200 sf apartment loft above a crack house in brooklyn, ny using stolen cell phones and computers to rip you off. When the order comes in, your credit card info goes out to the highest bidder or their cusin Bob. Just so you know I did some research after this and ordered through beach camera. Paid less then the "package deal" at crooksrus (bestpricedcameras) and it arrived in 2 days with free standard shipping, in the original sealed mfg. box and with std. mfg. included accessories. Imagine that getting what you paid for. So speaking for myself, beach camera was a great experience, bestpricedcamera a.k.a. "crooksrus" is only for you if you dont have enough stress in your life and need something to occupy your time. Good luck and Merry Christmas. Kevin, or what ever your name is enjoy the coal from santa

Bad Business

I also had a bad experience with this online business (bestpricecameras.com). I had ordered an Infocus IN72 projector and the confirmation I received did not contain any information about my order, other than an order number. I called them after a couple of days and was told that they needed additional information in order to process the order. They wanted to know what kind of bulb I wanted in the projector.

These projectors come with bulbs. I shouldn't have to purchase a separate bulb. It is like buying a car and then having the dealer ask if you want an engine in it. The rep said he would gladly cancel the order. I am monitoring my credit card to make sure the charge does not go through.

I would definitely advise anyone to stay away from this business. You can google bestpricecameras and come up with a long list of unhappy customers.

BestPriceCameras.com - beware!

I ordered a Canon professional series lens and wanted overnight delivery.

2 business days later, a rep from the BestPricesCameras.com calls and first thing tries to get me to agree to the inferior Sigma lens. He told me it was just as good, actually better, for the camera I have (Canon Digital Rebel XTi).

I told him it isn't, said I wasn't interested and asked how long it would be until I got the lens I ordered.

He said 3 weeks.

I said that won't do and I want to cancel my order.

He said, "Fine, not a problem." - and hung up on me! No confirmation that the order has been canceled, not a goodbye, sorry we couldn't help you, and all that nice stuff a good company that wants to keep customers does.

I tried to call the number that my Caller ID said called - it was a bad number.

I called the customer service number and talked to a guy there who sounded slightly nicer, but still a weasel. He confirmed who I talked to and that the order had been canceled.

Then I asked to speak to the first guy's manager.

The manager made no apologies. I accused him of bait-and-switch. He had no defense. I told him about the above rudeness. His reply was "That's weird. Chris has been with us for years and we've never got a complaint about him."

It is obvious from 5 minutes of interaction with these people that all they want is to speak to suckers they can pull their crap on. As soon as they get someone who is on to them, they get rid of them as soon as possible.

Don't! Don't! Don't do business with this company!

another bestpricedcamera.com ripoff

Sounds like this website is specializing in a bait and escalate scam. My experience was exactly the same as those many others have described. Ordered a camera kit (Canon XT) and got a call the next day to try to sell me overpriced accessories. When I refused, the salesperson (Victor) got very rude and hung-up the phone. I e-mailed several times to check the status of my order - no response. I tried to call several times - customer service only open from 11 AM to 6PM, WHAT?? I finally got through two weeks later. "Oh, sorry your order was cancelled because of backorders. We sent you an e-mail." NOT. I thought I had this problem covered when I checkrd other "review sites" about this company before I ordered. over 1000 five star reviews on Webbiz and Shopping Cart.com. I don't know whose worse, the rip-off company or the review sites which support their scams. Bottom line - you get what you pay for.

Bestpricecamera does it again

From looking at all the posts these con artists have been pulling a scam for two years and are still going strong. I placed an online camera order for a Nikon D80 in April 2007 and received an email confirming my order. When I would not play their game of purchasing over priced items they sent me an email telling me the camera was out of stock and my order was canceled. I agree with other posts on this company I don’t know which is worse, these scam artists or those that claim to represent honest reviews and keep a company like this in business. This company should be shut down.

bestpricecameras aka expresscameras.com

I think these guys are operating under yet another name now.. expresscameras.com

I tried ordering from both companies and got the run-around.

When ordering from bestpricecameras they did the same thing everyone else has mentioned -- tried to sell me a battery..etc..etc.. then hung up on me when I said I'd rather cancel my order. Hold times on the phone average about 10-15 minutes and their reps never really try to help you place an order.

After canceling my order with beststopcameras.com I called expresscameras.com to make sure their item came with a battery, etc.. I was on hold for about 15 min, then when I finally got through, the guy on the phone was very short with me and rude. He even sounded just like the guy from bestpricecameras. I told him what product I was inquiring about and all he said was "what about it?". He answered my questions but was very rude about it telling me to look for myself on the website. So after he hung up on me, I ordered the items on the website. This time I received the dreaded "item is back-ordered" email so I called them to find out more information. Again, I got the SAME guy (i think) and I gave him my order #. He immediately asked for the CC code on the back of my card...then when I asked him what was back-ordered he transferred me to a recording that said "sorry this dept is closed" and hung up on me. I called back to find out what items they DO have in stock, thinking I could buy something different. I asked him if they had the Nikon d70s in stock, he said "no" immediately, then I asked about the d50 and he waited a moment then said "no". Then I asked about the d40 and he said "hold on let me transfer you" and it went directly to a that same recording and hung up on me AGAIN.

So, it looks like they now have an automated process for getting rid of callers they don't want to deal with.. or who they can't successfully SCAM. I think it's pretty much just a couple of guys (at most) in a little room taking calls all day long. I bet their phones are ringing off the hook (hence the repeated placement on hold so they can take incoming calls).

More evidence that bestpricecamera.com = expresscameras.com is that both of these company's "customer services depts" were closed on Monday and Tuesday after Easter weekend.

Anyhow, I have logged into my bank account site and changed my mailing address and tomorrow will call to try and block any charges. I might have to cancel the card :/

It really sucks that they've been in business this long. Why can't we shut them down? Reading all these posts makes me want to fight back somehow. We should all ban together and war-dial them or something. Or.. if any of you actually live in NY, how about going up to their actual business location and causing a ruckus?

ExpressCameras.com

I recently ordered a camera for my sister from ExpressCameras.com. They were significantly cheaper than other websites, so I had to wonder why. However the order went through seemingly fine.

I later received a slew of "Confirm your order!" emails from the website, 2 a day until I called in. Upon calling in I was asked my order number, gave it, and this conversation followed:

Rep: Would you like to add a memory card to your order for just $199?
Me: No, that's alright I'll figure that part out later.
Rep: I haven't even told you how large the card is - 1 gigabyte. That's a good deal at $199.
(Note: It isn't.)
Me: No, that's fine. I'd just like what I ordered on the website and nothing more.
Rep: You're not going to have a memory card then. Nothing useful, anyway.
Me: That's fine. Is my order confirmed?
Rep: Now do you want the 2 hour battery of the 5 hour battery?
Me: Neither. I only want what I ordered on the website.
Rep: I haven't even told you how much they cost. Is it a money issue?
Me: No. I just want what I ordered.
Rep: It's a money issue. What if I told you they were free? Would you say no still?
Me: Anyone would be silly to not take something for free. It's a buying issue - I don't want to buy more than what I selected on the website.
Rep: It's a money issue then. You're cheap.
Me: No, it's a research issue. I did a lot of research in picking out the items I ordered. I don't want to buy additional items right here on the phone. If you'd like to email me these offers so I can research them as well, I'll consider them.
Rep: Oh please, it's not like you need to do a lot of research to buy a camera! You go on the website and you order it!
Me: ...Is my order all set?
Rep: Is your order all set? YOU aren't all set, because you're going to get a camera and not be able to do a thing with it! You'll have a dinky memory card and a dinky starter battery!
(Note: My sister has a memory card, and no camera comes with a "starter battery" - outright lying.)
Me: *silence because the man has shown himself to be crazy*
Me: Is my order confirmed?
Rep: Alright goodbye sir good luck with your useless camera.

And today I check my email to find? Not a "Your order is confirmed" but rather, "Unfortunately, the item you ordered is on backorder and your order has been cancelled." Notably the "Cancellation number" is the same as the "Order number" which suggests to me this entire website is a scam to force you to call in and get a sales pitch about parts that no one needs. Who knows if one can actually ever receive the items on the site itself.

It's time for a class-action lawsuit.

bestbuycameras.com

I've been on hold for 45 minutes now trying to cancel my order. The people on the other end keep picking up and asking if I need help then putting me on hold again. It turns out that the things they sell do not come with ANY accessoried, no cables, no batteries, nothing at all. TOTAL SCAMMER SITE. The hold recording says "helpful and courtious associates will help me soon" that is a a lie. Strongly recommend that you do not purchase from this site.

best price cameras.com a scam

I agree with other posts on this company. I ordered a video camera and then called to see about the bonus specials listed on advertisement . The bonus items were never mentioned again as I went through checkout. I didn't even get a straight answer on the items, and the man immediately asked for my 3 digit code on the back of my card and then asked if I wanted the 199.00 battery added to the package. Wow, i cancelled. I called my bank to try to put a stop payment on my debit card. They said no! I made them aware that I would not pay for this, so will see what happens next. As of 3 hours later, no charges applied. BETTER NOT BE! DO not buy from them!

Almost fell for it

Thank you everyone for your posts. I was looking at the Nikon D200 body which normally sells for $1200-1600 and BestPrice had it listed for $499.00. It definitely pays to research the company beforehand.

RE: InfinitiPhoto.com Scam

Bestpricecameras.com is the hugest scam on the internet and i knew it before I got off the phone. Their prices are ridiculously low so I called. After getting the price, I gave them my shipping address, however I did NOT purchase any warranties or accessories. They said, "No problem", and said they would let me know when the TV would arrive within a few days. I said "OK" and ended the phone conversation. I suddenly realized that there was no confirmation numbers, no tracking numbers, nothing! That seemed strange to me that they would commit to sending out a huge item to a warehouse without any committment or credit card number...think Amazon or Ebay, etc., etc., etc. I called back immediately to check on my "order".

Sure enough! No record of any order and an irritating sterotype from Brooklyn who was practiced in excuses and abuses.

These guys make money on accessories and warranties and if you don't buy, they can't purchase the items for the prices you have ordered it for. Like all the other would be buyers at Bestpricecamers.com, if you don't buy the accessories you will NOT get the main product. Period! What a scam!

BESTPRICECAMERAS.COM-SCAM

I hope this additional posting added to all the others on BestPriceCamera.com contributes to helping others avoid this business.

As everyone seems to have noticed they have no interst in selling their well priced cameras, but rather their overpriced "packages".

Knowledge is power. Thank you all for you postings!!!

BESTPRICECAMERAS.COM

I noticed the Nikon D40 was almost half the price compared to reputable camera stores. It was good that I read the comments on this website about the scam. To get even with this company, I tried to place an order with bogus information and it successfully gave me an order number. I think it is worth it if everybody do this to BestPriceCameras.com(considering the enormous time and grievances that they did to other people they scammed!). We can also play tricks with BestPriceCamera.com by telephone order then just hang up if they notice that we are playing games. If thousands of us just order with bogus information, then we are draining their resources. Maybe they will close their business for lack of manpower.
Thanks.

CALL YOUR ATTORNEY GENERAL

Good grief, people! I've never seen so many people being ripped off and THE COMPANY IS STILL IN BUSINESS!!! If these were bank robbers, at least they would have relocated to Cuba or something. If you have find a scam, REPORT IT TO THE ATTORNEY GENERAL AND THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU IMMEDIATELY!!!!

I was on the VERGE of pressing the Order button to get a camcorder from BestPriceCamera.com, and then I find out that you guys have all already discovered they are a ripoff! This is what the Internet is for, but YOU HAVE TO TELL SOMEBODY!!

Get them delisted

I don't know why, but apparently the New York attorney general's office can't stop the massive amount of fraud from dozens of companies operating out of Brooklyn. I can't believe they're powerless, but obviously they are. I suggest a new tactic: Get them delisted from Google, and any other search engine they appear on. Complain directly to Google. At some point, Google will have to explain why they're allowing crooks to advertise on their site, or delist them. I noticed they don't come up in Yahoo - maybe Yahoo just has a more stringent anti-crook policy.

Anyway, their business will die if they don't get any traffic. Google is their weak link.

RE: InfinitiPhoto.com Scam

Sadly, I just purchased a Nikon D-200 with an 18-200 VR lens and all the extras from Bestpricecameras.com. This company and more specifically, SAM, returned every phone call and email I sent prior to the placement of my order. After the order was placed, he and the company have NEVER returned a single one of my calls/emails. My order was supposed to arrive today (for which I paid an extra $60)and nothing has arrived as of 2:14 PM, and probably will not. I made the mistake of ordering before checking out the credentials on this website, so I guess I deserve what I am going to have to go through to get my $2600.00 refund. I have already contacted my credit card company and placed the order in dispute. As soon as it arrives, I am NOT accepting the order, not opening the order and returning it to sender. This company is a JOKE and a HOAX, sucking in good, honest people and ripping them off! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM PLEASE!

thenewconnection.com is scam also

This is the duplication of my filing on BBB against thenewconnection.com.

Think twice when buying on http://www.thenewconnection.com

I bought a nikon len on this website.

When they sent me verification letter, an extra item I did not ordered (a filter kit charged by $100) was added to my buy list.

I replied them saying I REJECT this verification because I did not order the extra item they added for me.

After two days, I got the exactly same verification letter again.

I was little annoying this time, then called the phone 1-800-808-1675 mentioned in the verification letter. The guy on the other side was very rude - he made me hold without saying anything several times before I spoke less than 5 words and eventually hung up my call.

Now I have to call my credit card company to cancel this order. Even they sell me only the len I ordered, I dare not trust them for anything.

I have filed a complaint on BBB.

When I search on BBB using this URL, I got below company name as FotoConnection. I don't know whether FotoConnection is the same as thenewconnection.

This is what in the verification letter:
P.O. Box 300425, Brooklyn NY 11230 | Tel: 1-800-808-1675 | Fax: 347-402-1084 | Web: www.thenewconnection.com

camera "company" scams

I have had the same experience as many of you with bestpricecameras.com and others, most recently expecam.com - horrific! I called back after changing my mind on the camcorder I was going to purchase, so when the scammer asked me for the 3 digit number on my credit card, I ignored it and asked about the other camcorder. RUDE! Just horrible. I REALLY blame shopcartusa.com though, for encouraging purchases through these "recommended" dealers. How could they have thousands of excellent reviews? Probably because many of the buyers are not savvy as far as accessories are concerned. And parents who want to get something special for their adult children. With bestpricecameras I said I'd have to check back with them on getting the "retail" package, and contacted Sony about the way things are packaged when you choose "body only" - on an DSLR camera! So that was why I checked 2 of the other shyster companies. I could have saved a dozen hours over the past 3 days if I had found the message board about this. When something sounds too good to be true it REALLY is! It's just that it is so hard to find out which internet companies are legit!

That's the key. If some company is charging $100 or $200 less for an item that elsewhere costs $500 or so, that's too good to be true. But that won't stop a continuing flood of people from doing it.

As to which companies are legit, you must know at least one or two. For example, I'd be willing to buy any sort of electronics (including digital cameras) from Amazon, Circuit City, Best Buy, Costco and Crutchfield. As far as cameras are concerned, I'm also satisfied that B&H Photo is a good source. Sure, you'll hear about the occasional person who has a problem with one of these companies but I'd be willing to place an order with any of them. Of these, I've had exceptionally good experiences with Amazon, Crutchfield and B&H Photo. I've only ordered a couple things from Costco, Best Buy and Circuit City. If someone lists a price that's 10 percent less than the price on Amazon, my crap-o-meter starts twitching and I get real suspicious. You'll find that all legit companies have prices that are within 5 percent of each other, except for the occasional sale.

Yeah, it sucks to get screwed by a shady Internet dealer. Make sure it doesn't happen to you by chosing a company you've heard of and giving it your business.

Ordered an HV20 through BestPriceCameras.com

Unfortunately I wasn't aware of these reviews until minutes after I placed my online order. I immediately sent them a "Please cancel my order" email.

To be on the safe side I'm going to call my credit card company and block any charges from bestpricecameras or infinityphoto come Monday morning.

Thank you all for your reviews.

What I did and it worked

I fell for the cheap price of a digital camera and then received the high pressure up-sell call that left me uneasy. After reading the post here on epinions I sent an email cancelling my order and cancelled my credit card which had already been charged. I also called BPC to cancel the order and they rudely told me my order had already been shipped (which was a lie). I received the shipping confirmation via email a few days later. I refused shipping of the order (I have no idea what they actually sent me). I disputed the charge with my credit card company and sent them my email cancellation, the shipping confirmation email along with BPC's terms which state that customers will not be charged until the order is shipped (my card was charged a week in advance), and a copy of the posts here as well as another site detailing their shady behavior.

Although it took several months to reach conclusion, I was successful in disputing the charge. They tried to charge me a $200 restocking fee, but my credit card company denied it. I think including the stories of other victims in my dispute backup really helped so THANK YOU. I hope no one else falls prey to BPC, but if they do I hope this helps.

Scam to the max!!! Check the BBB!!!

I too have been scammed! :( Please check out the BBB in New York at http://search.newyork.bbb.org/reports.aspx?pid=44&page=1&id=79450. They told me the order would ship and arrive to me in 2 days with the shipping I selected... still no package though!!! I had to call me credit card for them to handle it! I also went to the Better Business Bureau to complain! After all the complaints... how are they still in business... someone needs to stop them from more scams!!!
