Bestpricecameras.com worst scam
DO NOT BUY...repeat...DO NOT BUY from them. They are a total scam. I ordered Sony handycam for $504 without reading all these comments (and I wish I had). The next day the rep called and told me that I would need to order battery. Since it was my first time buying a camcorder and I was in the store and did not have time, I didn't really question and said it was ok. He told me the new total was $743.00 with $139.99 battery. Within moments after I hung up, I noticed that the total does not match. I called, left messages, e-mailed to let them know that if the total is more than $643.99, I would be cancelling. No response. I called back over the weekend to find them closed. I called Monday, and this "Anthony" takes my call to just harass me. I asked to talk to his manager, then "Ishihara" comes up. He abused me verbally for cancelling my order, but said that the transaction was not processed so I would not be charged.
Today, I find that somebody used my credit card to buy purses at Coach for $540, and at some unknown store for $150 things. I read somewhere that these guys pass the credit card info to other losers...well THEY DO!!! BE VERY AWARE. DO NOT BUY from them. Also to let you know, I was billed for $743 for the camcorder that I cancelled and never received. I'm going through dispute.
I had to close my bank account, dispute a transaction and now have to wait for the next statement to see if any other unknown damege has been done. Please save yourself from going through all these troubles. I learned my lesson the hard way. |

Tried the old Bait and switch. After online order the asked me to call for verification.
When I called, they said camera came with inferior battery and memory and then said would be refurbished and sent from overseas. I cancelled order. |

RE: Bestpricecameras.com worst scam
Scam artists. Review the Better Business Bureau complaints at http://tinyurl.com/y2hyjc.
My personal interaction:
I ordered a Canon professional series lens and wanted overnight delivery.
2 business days later, a rep from the www.BestPriceCameras.com calls and first thing tries to get me to agree to the inferior Sigma lens. He told me it was just as good, actually better, for the camera I have (Canon Digital Rebel XTi).
I told him it isn't, said I wasn't interested and asked how long it would be until I got the lens I ordered.
He said 3 weeks.
I said that won't do and I want to cancel my order.
He said, "Fine, not a problem." - and hung up on me! No confirmation that the order has been canceled, not a goodbye, sorry we couldn't help you, and all that nice stuff a good company that wants to keep customers does.
I tried to call the number that my Caller ID said called - it was a bad number.
I called the customer service number and talked to a guy there who sounded slightly nicer, but still a weasel. He confirmed who I talked to and that the order had been canceled.
Then I asked to speak to the first guy's manager.
The manager made no apologies. I accused him of bait-and-switch. He had no defense. I told him about the above rudeness. His reply was "That's weird. Chris has been with us for years and we've never got a complaint about him."
It is obvious from 5 minutes of interaction with these people that all they want is to speak to suckers they can pull their stunts on. As soon as they get someone who is on to them, they get rid of them as soon as possible.
Don't! Don't! Don't do business with this company!

bait and switch
I too was scammed. I ordered the NEC VT695 projector. Salesperson called to ask what type of lamp I wanted. Said that the projector only had a 50 hour bulb. Offered me a 2000 or 3000 hour bulb adding hundreds of dollars to the cost. Had not done my homework and ordered the 2000 hour bulb. Projector arrived and I checked to see what bulb I had installed. Turns out the projectors only come with one bulb. It is rated at 3000 hours. Cost went from $825 to $1170. Could have bought the projector for $985 from other vendors. Cannot return it without a restocking fee. On the plus side, the projector was new. |

BESTPRICECAMERAS.COM IS A SCAM
We should all write letters to our major news affiliates, NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, and persuade them to do an investigative expose on bestpricecameras.com (they operate under multiple names) and other online crooks in such news-shows like 20/20 or Dateline. I've read the reviews about bestpricecameras.com from a number of public forums as well as the complaints filed to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) --- and all this would make such a compelling, informative, and cautionary TV-documentary about bestpricecameras.com in particular and the digital camera gray-market in general.
I too share a similar experience with bestpricecameras.com. I made an online purchase for a Canon Rebel Xt for $449. I called to confirm my order and they said I would have to pay an additional $149 for batteries. I said that Canon should have already have a battery in the manufacture box, but they said that it doesn't. I said I needed more time to think about it and to cancel my order and the guy hung up. Feeling uneasy about the phone call, I googled "bestpricecameras.com" (which, I know, I should've done earlier) and found hundreds of stories about how people were receiving the wrong items, paying more than they agreed to pay, inferior parts, wrong warranties, opened boxes, unitemized invoices, extremely rude, offensive customer service, and, worst of all, unapproved credit card charges after they get your credit card information! Although I told them to cancel my order, I knew I couldn't trust them, and so after reading other people's accounts, I decided it would be best to cancel my credit card to avoid them from making unapproved transactions (one person said that his card was charged for a Barcelona plane ticket!). It's been such an inconvenience but I'm glad I was able to cancel in time before they made charges: 7 days without a card is better than months and months of headaches from dealing with these rude, unethical people.
Such stories and complaints about bestpricecameras.com have been CONSISTENTLY posted online since 2005, with frequent reports to the Better Business Bureau and the NY General Attorney. I have no idea how they still continue to do business.
To shed light on the dishonest scam practices of bestpricecameras.com WE SHOULD ALL WRITE TO OUR LOCAL AND NATIONAL NEWS syndicates to tell them about this store and their unethical selling practices. If the BBB and NYC aren't going to shut this place down, we can at least have reporters broadcast our frustrations and their illegal practices to a wider audience. I wait for the day I tune in for nightly news and see these people exposed for their criminal acts. |

Bestpricecamera scammer elite
Jonathan is the big salesperson at this Brooklyn Boiler room. All of the salesmen take turns being supervisors, managers, shipping department or whatever you request once you have a problem. If you look further you find out that atleast a dozen different electronic sellers on the internet all have 800 numbers that funnel into the same group of salesmen. These webnames and companies are owned out of the State of Washington but operate through New York. This is because if you go to New York's Attorney General with complaint, they see the business is operating out of Washington so they send complaint to Washington State's Attorney General. He looks at it and says....mmmm not our problem they are really working out of New York. This is how boiler rooms can keep their doors open ripping off the public.
You think your getting a great deal on an item and then they start the switch game....they tell you that you need all these accessories that normally come with the item as seperate items that are being sold to you for very high prices...example 6 hour battery for camcorder Best Price Camera's Price $199.00 realistic price from anywhere else $35.00. They tell you that the price on the website is for an imported model of the item you seek but that those are back ordered. They explain that the USA brands are 3 times the price and you can order those without accessories.
They are pushy and typical fast talking New Yorkers and have the pitch down pat. They are liars and thieves and are making millions on the American public.
What do we do about it?? Nothing cause we don't have the time to go after them. I like the idea of Major News doing documentary on these scams. They need to be put out their in all their glory. Hope some major news media will decide to go after them and shut these places down. If we still have organized crime in this country then this whole group is owned by one of them.
My story is typical and I lost about $300.00 and 6 months of grief dealing with this pathetic company. If they do a documentary hope they ask me as I have a nice story to spin.
DON'T BUY FROM THIS COMPANY OR ANY OF THOSE LOW PRICE NEW YORK ELECTRONIC OUTLETS ON THE NET AS THEY ARE ALL CONNECTED. |

RE: Bestpricecamera scammer elite
I just placed an order on Saturday and was concerned that the confirmation did not reference a total $ amt nor did I get an e-mail confirmation. I then called to follow up and found out that they were closed on Saturday. The website did not reflect that. So I called on Sunday and was placed on hold for 1/2 an hour to then be told the item I ordered was not in stock. I asked for a confirmation of cancellation and they said that they do not do that. I expressed my concern and they ended the call by calling me a loser and hanging up.
I've successfully purchased dozens of items on the internet for years and this is the first time I have come across such a scam. |

bestpricecameras.com not only scammers but very rude
I placed an online order with bestpricecameras.com for a Panasonic Lumix camera. The price listed for this camera was $100 cheaper than other online retailers, so being a cautious buyer I searched for customer reviews. The first site I pulled up was full of positive reviews, so I moved forward with my purchase. I have since found several other reviews of this retailer that were negative and from buyers who had a similar experience to mine.
Beware...the items on the site to not disclose that they do not come with a lithium battery - of which they want to charge you $100 or more. I made my online purchase and then received an email saying I would have to speak to a customer service rep to complete my order.
I received a call from a rep this morning who confirmed my credit card information before asking "and which battery would you like with that a 2 or 4 hour?" I responded with the obvious that "doesn't the camera include a battery?" of which he said no and then told me they cost $99 and $149. I told him I needed to speak to my husband and that I would call back. I searched their site for any mention that the camera did not include a battery before calling back to ask where this was stated on their website. At that time, I spoke to another individual who was very rude and simply said "the website doesn't say it DOES or DOES NOT include a battery." I told him I considered this false advertising and he became very angry and told me it's not false advertising because it doesn't say anything. I was so shocked at how angry he was that I asked to speak to the original rep. He transferred me and then when I asked to cancel the order I was hung up on. I called back 2 more times to confirm that my order was cancelled. The first time the rep told me I would be charged a $39 cancellation fee and I told him I would dispute that charge with visa, so he told me it would not be charged. I called a third time to confirm that my card would not be charged. Obviously I will follow up with Visa to make sure I was not charged.
I have made many, many online purchases and have never come across a more rude and dishonest company. It was obvious from their response and attitudes that they know they are running a scam and bait and switch operation. Be careful!

Lots of people come here to share experiences and commiserate with one another. Naturally reviews are encouraged and many go on to write a review. Many don't. They just share their experiences.
This is how it always has been.

RE: BEST PRICE, but NOT w/out $$$ Xtras
I fell for the same trap and last night called my credit company to warn them of possible exhorbitant charges that may appear and that I would contest them. After thinking it over this morning I decided it would be easier to just cancel the card rather than dispute any fraudulent charges at a later date. It seems like there is a good chance that this may happen given all the reviews. I suggest anyone including yourself that has fallen for this, to cancel the card as well. It took 5 minutes to cancel and the new card will be here in 7-10 days. In the meantime I will just use my debit card and change the one automatic payment I had hooked up to it when the new card arrives. It can take months of hassle and countless hours to appeal a fraudulent charge! Those were my two cents. BESTPRICECAMERAS.com is a group of complete crooks that should be thrown in jail for the felonies that they commit on a daily basis. How the BBB has not shut them down is beyond me. STAYAWAY at all costs, do not be tempted by their low price veneer, you will NEVER get it for that price! |

RE: BEST PRICE, but NOT w/out $$$ Xtras
My husband found the bestpricecameras.com site and we ordered a camcorder with them over the internet yesterday. After I placed the order, we did some research on this site, resellersratings.com and the BBB. I am so grateful to have this feedback. One hour after placing my order with bestpricecameras.com I called my CC company and cancelled my card, thanks to reading all the horrendous reviews about this seemingly scamming, scum company. What a lot of grief we have been spared by all of the posts on this site and others. I have never seen such damning reviews EVER. Luckily there were no charges on my card and I cancelled it in time. They don't seem to work from Friday night thru Saturday evening. THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR POSTS!! |

BestPrice SCAMMERS!!!!
MY wife ordered a camera from Bestpricecameras.com in good faith, A nikon D70s with two Nikkor lenses, for $899.00. Yesterday some sales rep called me (her Husband) to tell me that she "ordered the plastic lenses, and for $339.00 more they will sell the glass lenses!" I told him you've got to be kidding, Nikon doesn't sell "plastic lenses". He became very rude and tried to sell me a "battery pack" for $149.00. I told him to cancel the whole thing, at which point he simply hung up. (They do this a lot, it seems.)A While later after about three fruitless tries, I got a lackey from that company to give me a cancellation confirmation number. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY.How they stay in business is beyond me. This would make a great expose for 60 Minutes or MSNBC. All they have to do is place an order! |

Feedback About BestPriceCameras.com
Never buy anything from them.
I ordered Sony Handicam for $469. I got the confirmation e-mail from them, regarding the order and mentioning that someone would contact me within 48 Hrs. After that no activity in my mail box or phone from them. Not only this I tried calling their customer support at-least 10 times, but no proper response. I lost other better deals, which were available over internet on that weekend because of that. On wednesday, when I called 11th time, they said, your order is backordered for 6 weeks and I was not even informed about it. I cancelled the order and hopefully saved myself from any future problems because of the.
in the bold:
NEVER BUY A CAMERA FROM BESTPRICECAMERAS.COM
THEY HAVE POOR CUSTOMER SUPPORT
NO CUSTOMER VALUE, WHEN CUSTOMER CALLS
NO INFORMATION AVAILABLE ONCE YOU FINISH ORDERING ONLINE
THEY PROVIDE 1000 DIFFERENT ATTRACTIONS ON THE WEB PAGE, BUT ALL OF THEM LOOK FAKE |

Almost got me
I was/am shopping for a Cannon Rebel XTI. The best price I have seen (without lens) is from B&H @ $656.00. These jokers advertise it at $299.00. If it looks to good to be true.........
After reading all these posts I'd pay $900 elsewhere before I'd deal with these fools. |

Unreliable store
Bestpricecameras.com is horrible. They do not honor the prices that they advertise. Received this email to my recent order:
"Thank you for your recent order with us. The product you selected is currently not in stock. We will not be restocking it for another 6-8 weeks time. Your card has NOT been charged and your order has been cancelled. We will notify you via email as soon as we restock it.Thank you,Ken"
Since they now have my credit card information I decided to cancel my credit card to avoid fraudulent charges from this fraudulent company. |

unbelievable sales manners
Get ready for a fight when calling them. Friday b/f memorial day they had a Nikon D80 body for 299 but by Wed it had gone to 499. I called to see if they'd give me the cheaper price. When I asked if this would be possible the salesman laughed at me and called me a "funny guy". I told him I wasn't trying to make him mad, just wanted to see if it was a possibility. When the insults continued I asked to speak to his supervisor. He told me he was the manager. He then called me an idiotic customer, swore at me, and hung up. I called back and dialed in another department to try to get ahold of the person in charge, but the same guy answered. In addition to the camera, I was going to buy a Nikor 18-200 VR lense along with some other items. But you can bet they'll never see a red cent of mine. |

RE: Bestpricecameras.com worst scam
BestPriceCameras.com is a COMPLETE scam. They are totally disruptable as this thread confirms, and will steal your credit card info. I received a call from my bank yesterday saying that my account had been "compromised", and I'd have to change my account number. I've never had this problem before, until I made an unfortunate purchase from these frauds.
The fact is I ordered my camera on their website for the $179 price (a Cannon Powershot A540 digital camera). They called me following that to pressure me into some kind “Deluxe Package Deal”, which I told them CLEARLY I did not want. What I thought was being sent to me was what I ordered on their website for $179. Period. However, I did become a bit suspicious later when they ignored my repeated requests (via phone and email for confirmation of my order, which they never sent.
But in spite of that what I finally received was this so-called, upgraded “package deal” (again, with NO previous invoice or any kind of acknowledgment confirming what I ordered).
So, now having some merchandise that I didn’t order (and was charged for) I tried to call them (23 times!!) to get a return merchandise authorization number. I called their customer service number (1-800-281-1823) and also their Toll-free Assistance number (1-800-281-1724 … which did answer but only referred me to calling their Customer Service number). I couldn’t even get through. After waiting on their line for 20 minutes or more (truthfully!) someone would actually answer eventually but then immediately hang-up! It was infuriating to say the least, but I kept trying with no success.
I’ve since filed a report with the Better Business Bureau in New York against BestPrice. I only wish I’d been of mind to look-up that information beforehand.
This company is in the business of ripping people off using low-ball and bait-and-switch techniques (which, is illegal in Washington State by the way). In my case, I didn’t even agree to any of their added “package deals” or succumb to their pressure tactics, but they apparently saw fit to charge me for that anyway. In my case, I didn’t even agree to any of their added “package deals” or succumb to their pressure tactics, but they apparently saw fit to charge me for that anyway. And, they flat-out will not allow anyone to make returns.
Companies like BestPrice should never be allowed to conduct business this way. This is unacceptable. If there's any sort of class action in the works that can be brought against these BestPrice.com scam "artists" that anyone on this thread is aware of, please let me know. I'm there. |

Horrible SCAM. The customer service people a extremely -rude and lie to you. There website state one thing an when you call they give you another story.
The states attorney of New York should look into this outfit.
Seconds after they sold me an item they told me that I would have to buy their overpriced battery and charger or else I would have to cancel my order. I cancelled my order. We'll see how long it take them to credit my account I will call my credit card company and see... |

GREAT PRICE ON CAMERA THAT DOESN'T EXIST
BUYER BEWARE X2!!!! The BEST BUY CAMERA net site offers free shipping on the top-of-the-line Nikon D200 that reputable dealers are selling in the $1200-1400 range for just $529. A phone call to inquire about the camera and how soon it would ship gets a fellow who says that all they have in stock is the "metal" version - for $1200 or so - and that the $529 offer is for the D200 with a "PLASTIC BODY," which Nikon doesn't make. |

A complete scam
Same story as most here. Got hooked on the low price, placed an order, got a call four hours later asking all kinds upsell questions. When I tried to cancel, the agent wouldn't cancel and threw some nasty insults. I had to cancel my credit card number.
I filed a BBB complaint. This business should absolutely be shut down. Can someone in law enforcement please initiate something against this evil company? |

I too ordered a camera from these people-got a confirmation number and then nothing--tried calling them for about 5 days-waiting on hold for 30 min at a time--never got through, so I ordered the camera elsewhere--about a month later, I got an email from them requesting contact about my order--I wrote back and said "you must be kidding"--cancel it!!! I never heard anything more and my credit card has not been compromised--I guess I am lucky:) |

Ex Victim from Best Price Camera
Around two years ago I was scammed by this company. I bought a Panasonic AGDV100B for $3,000. They sent literally a broken dusty camera. They did not answer phones, leave me waiting in line for hours etc. The same experience you all had. After contacting my CC company (Bank of America) they couldn't do a thing because I had received the item. It was a nightmare.
After contacting the "manager" he tried to sell the broken camera and guess what? for the same price I paid for a new one. After many days and many phone calls, I opted to do two things. 1- Talk nice and flirting with the recepcionist, and 2- Talk open with the "manager" that I knew it was a scam and beg them to give me a break. After a few attempts, the manager sent me a good one, gray market though.
I did a research on them...extensive files. The operate under 12 different names. Nobody do a thing. One guy took his time to take pictures of all major NY video and photo sellers, and I want to share with you.
I'm sure if you have seen this pictures before, you wouldn't buy from them...
Here is the picture for Best Price location:
http://donwiss.com/pictures/BrooklynStores/h0218.htm
In that same link you can see other locations for other "stores" most of them scammers....
ENJOY! AND ALWAYS RESEARCH BEFORE BUYING!!!

Echoing Many of the Same Concerns
I recently tried to purchase a Pentax K100D from BestPrice Camera and found they tried to pull a switch on me too. When they called to confirm my order, I was told that I wasn't getting what I ordered and that I would have to pay $150 more. As I tried to get my paper work in order, the guy at extension #283 hung up on me. I called back and found out that actually my order was on back-order and I should ignore the previous conversation, yet when I asked to confirm the price, he raised it again. I canceled the order after he would not give me a detailed explanation for the change in the price. He then hung up on me again. The money has been returned to me, thus far, but do not even try to get involved with these people, something just isn't right. |

Scam for me too
Tried to purchase a Nikon D200 camera body. Got a call saying I should buy over-priced accessories. I said no-thanks. They never sent order confirmation. I called and said what's up. They said the camera is on back-order and they couldn't fulfil my order. It has since gone up in price by almost $300 on their site. Whenever I call them the first rep always hangs up (5 times now). When I call back they always say it is on backorder and I haven't been charged yet and then hang up abruptly.
Don't buy from these crooks. |

BESTPRICECAMERAS.SCAM
Sorry to say that I also fell into this company's trap of low advertised prices. When I did not receive a confirmation on my order, I called them. A salesperson said that the reason why my order was not confirmed was because I did not give them the 3 digit code from the back of my credit card. Once I did that, he informed me that the Nikon D40x Camera Kits that I was purchasing from them (@ $419.00 for ea kit including the lens) DID NOT come with any batteries and then he told me that if I wanted the cameras to work that I would have to buy the batteries also. When I refused (not believing that they would sell cameras without batteries), he told me that the cameras were on backorder and whenever they came in, my order would be filled - but he had no idea when the approx date of arrival would be. He was not the politest individual either. Now after reading all the posts regarding the unscrupulous behavior of this company and their tactics I know that contacting my credit card company is essential. My only question now is...how is it that they can continue to do this and that no one can seem to put a stop to it? |

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!
You get what you pay for. I tried this company without researching as much as I should. Everything looked good until I went to enter my information. Most websites I purchase from will have a confirmation page with any taxes and shipping shown. Not this website. They had my credit card number and I was done. I researched them more in the upcoming days to find many others had found problems with this company, including extra charges on their card. I kept checking my credit card balance daily and after a week or so the company sent me an email to call them for confirmation. I had ordered a Canon Digital Rebel Package for $489 with all kinds of extras. The saleman asked what battery I would like to have (purchase). I asked him about the one that comes with the camera. He said the camera did not come with the battery. He then wanted me to buy the warranty, even though the website said "Everything we sell comes with a full U.S. warranty." The salesman said that the camera I was only the camera body because that is the way it come from the company. I asked him about the lenses to find out the brand. At first he said, if the site says Canon then their Canon, if not their not. I said the site was not specific enough and would like him to check on the manufacturer. It turn out to be a cheaper lens. The shipping was going to be 8 to 10 weeks. I politely said that I would need to cancel the order and the saleman hung up on me. I called my credit card company to get a new card. Next time, I will do my research. |

WIsh I had seen this!! bestpricecamera
I like the others, thought it was business as usual. I consider myself pretty savvy, but today I learned that extra research goes a long way. I had researched so much on which camera to buy, I didn't think to research the retailers as well.I got to them directly from google, which I trust so much(too much).
I have canceled my credit card, and hope that nothing more negative happens. They never answered the phone, nor did I get a confirmation email, only the up-sale phone call, which was my red flag. |

Thank you!
Thank you all for this thread, and my sympathies to those who were taken for a ride by these companies.
I was researching a camera and found a price that, like many here, seemed a bit too good to be true. The place was bestpricecameras.com.
The fact that this site was offering the camera for about $100 less than Amazon was a bit fishy, and upon further review I'm very lucky I didn't jump at this "great deal."
Thanks again for the assistance. |

Beware Bestpricecameras.com
Great advertised prices....absolutely nothing else nice to say, the first company I have ever reported to the BBB!
I ordered a Canon HG10 camcorder, and was sent a confirmation e-mail stating that I needed to call in to confirm my order. When I called I received a very strong armed pitch to that I "needed" their very over-priced accessories in order to get any use out of the camera. I already had the needed accessories since this was a replacement to a older model, so I politely refused, to which the salesman asked "so no accessories?" which I confirmed, he then said that the model I order was out of stock. I told him that he did not mention that in the moments before to which he responded that it was just on back order and would not be available for 4-6 weeks and hung up on me. I obviously found this very suspicious and called their sales department not mentioning the previous conversation to the agent and asked once again about the HG10, the new agent confirmed that it was in stock and quoted a new higher price than what I had been locked in on through their site, I then informed him of the other order, he transferred me and I told this next guy the whole story, he said that he was the manager (name:Jamie, I have an e-mail from him)he said that he had sent me an e-mail informing me of the back order status (he most certainly had not)I informed him that he had not and he said he would send it again, seconds later I did indeed receive the email. He said that it would not be available until Late Feb. or early March (which is 11-13 weeks) I told him about the 4-6 weeks the last guy had said and received about 1 minute of silence as a response. He did offer to cancel my order, which probably should have done, but still thinking it was such a good deal I refused, asking instead that he send me a second email confirming the price that I locked in on, he refused saying it was against company policy and his computer would not allow it. I argued, and he relented, sending a quickly typed note with the model and (to his credit) the correct price. I have now requested that my order be canceled and am waiting to hear back, the one good thing, this was intended to be the first purchase with the credit card I used. I called my cc company and told them of the situation and am now on 24 hour monitoring. Should phony charges show up, only one company that could be responsible. Stupidest thing I've ever done to say no to the cancellation. |

BestPriceCameras.com --- Internet SCAM!!
Same scam.. different day. We were trying to purchase a Canon Rebel, and receieved a call about 2 days later telling me that we needed to purchase a battery. I immediatly could since that something was not right and ask that the order just be canceled. They then just hung up. The attempt to call back was to a disconnected number.
I then googled BestPriceCameras.com and WOW.. how can these guys still not be behind bars. They have been scamming for years now with the same crap.
I canceld my credit card, and will never use an unknow/tusted website with out checking them out first again.
These guys need to be put away... or put in the ground. |

I was scammed Also
I ordered a nikon d40 package from them. I thought I had researched them enough to be confident buying from them. Well as soon as I hung up from ordering I had a funny gut feeling and looked them up on the bbb. Omg my heart sank. We are a military family and dont make much money, so to here I had just been scammed out of $1000 money I had been saving for months to get the camera that I researched and researched. I called them to say I wanted to cancel and they hung up on me twice. So I emailed and called back the next day. The guy says ohh its already been sent out and you will be receiving it tomorrow. I made him give me a tracking number which he was hesitant to do and gave me a bogus one. I immediately called my bank and put a hold on my card and we are disputing the charge from them. They told me I was crazy and when I asked to speak to a manager he says I am. I said give me someone higher than you and finally got some guy who sounded like he was stoned, I am telling him what happened and he puts my on hold three times with out even letting me know. He comes back and tells me everytime that the package had been sent and I will get it tomorrow. Well I still have not gotten anything. I told my ups guy to refuse it if something does come I dont want anything to do with them. I am writing to anyone who will listen reguarding this company. STAY AWAY FROM THEM PLEASE!!!!!! |

Anyone Want to Do Something About This?
So I tried to purchase a projector last night, and I had the same experience as many of you. I ordered the product at a price that was well below the competition. A salesman called to confirm and then told me that my projector didn't come with a lamp or a remote control. He then tried to sell me the missing pieces at a price that would put the total package far above retail. I didn't even give him 30 seconds to explain. I cancelled on the phone and then by email.
I have since read about this company online, and the 80 posts on Epinions aren't even the tip of the iceberg. This is a Brooklyn outfit operating under about 6 different "doing business as" names. There are literally hundreds of complaints.
This business is of course illegal. There are claims here based in contract, tort, antitrust, fraud, maybe even RICO. The Feds and the State of New York clearly don't have the time to fix this. So the question is ...
Is anyone willing to do something about it? I may know an attorney ;-) who would be willing to provide some time, but he would need sworn statements to try to shut them down. |

has anyone actually received the product for the advertised price?
I fully understand the scam they are pulling. It's like when you walk into a dealership to buy a car at an advertised price. Only to have them pump a bunch of numbers in your face, and get you to buy the fully loaded Chevy Cavalier, opposed to the stock model. Same thing. It's not really a scam, you've just got to outsmart the bad-guy. :-)
I'm more interested in knowing if anyone actually received the product that they purchased for the price they have advertised?
I'm one hell of a salesmen, and I'm ready to go head to head with them. I just bought a really nice camcorder from them, and I'm waiting to get my "you need a battery/charger" pitch/email/phone call.
I specifically ONLY WANT THE BODY OF THE CAMERA! Long story short, my body was stolen, so all I need, is a replacement body.
What I'm wondering, is if anyone has actually received their product for their advertised price? Circumventing all their bull crap, has anyone walked away with the advertised price for just the body of the product?
Let me know!

Send them some faxes?
Maybe those of you with computer faxes (with auto-redial) can send them complaints.
A one-pager would do.
I'd send it to *67 (caller id block) 800-281-1724 - their main phone no.
And if they won't accept, I'd try again. And again.
Its a free call (for you).

They Are Still Scamming! Beware!!
I was a victim of the bait and switch technique as well. I felt uneasy after the phone call and immediately googled bestpricecameras.com after I hung up and saw this link. I then canceled my credit card before any charges appeared. They wanted a second phone number from me as well as the 3 digit credit card PIN. I also read that they operate under various names and when I called them back I asked if this was J&K Cameras and Ken replied that it was. I stated that this was odd since I just talked to him under Best Price Cameras. His reply was that this was a call center and then he demanded to know who I was. He quickly figured out my name since I had just spend the last 30 minutes grilling him about the bait and switch and then promptly hung up.
I have filed a compliant through BBB. Here is their report on the business..
http://search.newyork.bbb.org/reports.aspx?id=12668&pid=44&page=0&FindStr=best+price+cameras&SearchBy=company&Address=&City=&Phone1=&Phone2=&Phone3=&MembersOnly=False
This is NOT a BBB Accredited business!!!! Stay away at all costs! If it's too good to be true, it usually is.
I might have been taken for a ride if not for this website, so I wanted to pay it forward for the next person. |

RE: has anyone actually received the product for the advertised price?
I have yet to receive anything although at has only been a couple of days. It has been very difficult to obtain any info except that "YOUR PACKAGE WILL BE THERE ON WEDNESDAY". At this time I am keeping my fingers crossed and giving them until Monday to produce a tracking number. I will let you know if I receive any info on Monday. Hopefully I can be the first person with a + experience dealing with this company.
With all that aside I am still on the way to the bank to cancel my cc and get all new #'s. |

EVERYTHING ASIDE I DID FINALLY FIND SOMEONE AT CUSTOMER SERVICE WHO WAS ACTUALLY ON MY SIDE. HE IS MAILING MY FREEBEES OUT AND INSTRUCTED ME ON WHAT ACTION TO TAKE ABOUT THE BULB ISSUE. ALL IN ALL HE IS DEFINETLY THE BEST EMPLOYEE BESTPRICE HAS.
OH YA, ONE LAST THING THERE IS NO 5000HR BULB JUST 2-3000HR BULBS FOR THESE THINGS.
I WILL LET EVERYONE KNOW HOW THIS ALL TURNS OUT. |

Best Price Camera (DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT)
Classic bait and switch. They advertised a Nikon D300 for $939. I ordered it after I reviewed some of their more than 5000 good reviews posted from SHOPCARTUSA.COM . The next day I got a call from "Victor" who tells me I need to buy the "chip and firmware" for the camera for $439. I cancelled my order immediately. And of course "Victor" got nasty and said he wasn't intimidated by me. (Weasle?) Avoid them PERIOD. Has anyone heard of buying a Nikon D300 camera or any camera without the "chip and firmware". |

RE: Best Price Camera (DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT)
I totally agree with all of the previous postings, and wish I had reviewed this prior to starting the purchasing process. I was amazed to find such a great price on the Canon Digital Rebel XSi, however, after reading the reviews listed on shopcartUSA.com I decided to go ahead and place my order.
After not receiving the confirmation email, I called today to confirm the order, only to find out that that camera did not come with a battery. This would be an additional $179 dollars. When I questioned him regarding the price, he got very defensive, and would not let me check further into competitors prices on these batteries. Then more into the conversation I came to find out that the camera wouldn't even be coming with an owner's manuel, or the software needed with the camera.
Of course I cancelled the order, and after reading this site I also cancelled my credit card to prevent the numbers being shared and used like previous consumers' were.
I agree with a previous comment, how can a company like this still be around??? |

lesson learned
Learned the hard way. Now I will research vendors before purchasing. Thanks to the posts here, I had my credit card number blocked and will be issued a new one. I feel so stupid....but wiser now, I guess. |
