www.bestpricecameras.com -- CHEATING!

I purchased an Infocus projector IN24 from your web site. The product link is as below: http://www.bestpricecameras.com/prodetails.aspx?prodid=640156# I received a call from their staff this morning.

Frist question, asked me to buy a case, either hard or soft. I said I didn't want it, he said, I must buy it. I insisted not to buy that.

Then he told me that the light bulb did not come with my projector and I needed to buy it. It was ridiculous! All projectors in the market come with light bulb.

I didn't say that I want to complain, I just asked him to cancel my order. Then he threaten me on $35 cancellation fee. They don't honor their sales and cheat you on it!

Daniel

Best Price Cameras

Despite seeing eopinions.com's comments on this store, I tried to purchase a Nikon d40x digital camera and accessories. It was the old "if it's too good to be true, it probably isn't" that applies. After ordering online, I received an email and a call from Ken at ext. 223. Ken told me that the lenses I purchased were cheap plastic ones, but he would upgrade them for $199 each for glass lenses ($398 total). He told me that the camera body was a "wholesale package" and did not come with battery or charger. I said I could find those cheaply elsewhere. Then he said that the camera needed a usb cable and "firmware" to work. That was $499 anyplace else, but from him only $299. I said that I wanted to cancel the order because the saw a "bait and switch" happening. He got irate with me. I said I wanted to cancel and he hung up. I then called my credit card company to make sure that no charges were pending AND to have them not accept charges from bestpricecameras.com.

There seems to be a pattern here

CON CON CON

THese guys are the best examples of ruthless online con men around. Don't waste your time or money with their gimmicks and cons. And FILE A REPORT with the Better Business Bureau if you have been lied to or mislead to prevent others from experiencing the same thing.

Baited

Couldn't resist the price.

Everything looked promising, in stock, new, usa warranty.

Two days later order canceled no availability for months but they'll keep me informed.

Assurances are promising, just like their website, that there will be no charges.

When will their business model include no scams?

Best Price Cameras

I felt the need to post this because I want to prevent someone else from making the same $9,100.00 mistake I made with Best Price Cameras. I tried to purchase 2 Sony HVR-Z1U cameras with stands, lights, microphones, etc. After I gave Shaun my credit card number he told me that the cameras I was ordering were just "shells." He said that they do not come with lenses, lcd screens, or anything else. He said that if I wanted to upgrade the cameras it would be another $2,000 each camera. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told "your just trying to be a mooch, there is no supervisor here. Im the only guy you can talk to (with a heavy bronx accent)." Look at the price in the site: http://www.bestpricecameras.com/prodetails.aspx?prodid=213519 they are listed at $1,400. After he hung up on me, I called and was transfered to Victor at extension 202 who presented himself compasionatley and stated "That guy is an idiot. I promise you he will be sent home for a few days." Trust me when I tell you they are smooth. They will talk you into stuff you dont want or need. I have a lot of friends from New York who tell me "they went New York on you bro." To make a really long story short, they sent me a set of cameras and accessories along with 2 tripods that I paid $200.00 each for. The tripods they sent me are radio shack type stads worth about $40. When I called to have the correct stands sent to me I was told that they would ship them out right away. That was last month. 2 weeks ago I spoke to Michael in customer service who said "our records show that the stands were shipped 2 weeks ago, I'll let Victor know to send out 2 more." Today, July 5th, I call to find out what the status is and they wont answer the phone. By the way, they have caller ID. Every time you call them they know who you are. It makes it easier to avoid dealing with you. I have been on hold with Best Price Cameras for over 1 hour today. I just received an e-mail "while typing this opinion" stating "We cannot get the pro tripods, we will refund you. Sorry for the inconvenience. REFUND AMOUNT $200.00" Keep in mind, I paid $400 for the stands. They love to put you on hold while they "figure out whats going on." My next step is to contact Dateline NBC. Hopefully someone can expose them alot more than my e-opinion can.
I just spoke with James who assured me I would receive a $400.00 refund within 7 business days. If they refund my money I will post another e-opinion. My recomendation is to do your research before buying on the internet. Just because someone has the lowest price does not mean you should buy the product from them. My hope in writing this is that another church that is pursuing purchasing cameras for their media department would not fall into the same trap. It is embarassing to tell your Pastor you have been scammed.

Bait & Switch

This merchant like many others I have discovered on the Net will offer basic merchandise at a ridiculously low price with no intention to actually sell you that but want to include add-ons that are of inferior quality, and are exorbitantly priced as the final terms of a sale. I tried to purchase a Canon XTi camera body only which was advertised as in stock. I received an email that the item was on backorder for 6-8 weeks and would not be charged until it was shipped. I waited more than 8 weeks, then sought a status update, got no response, so I cancelled the order. I placed another order with Best Price for the same item listed as in stock and received an email that the item was not available and that my order was being cancelled. I suspect that they will not sell you a body only for the listed price, but will sell you a package, which contains over-priced items, some of which are merely junk. There are other merchants that seem to do the same including ExpressCameras. Their ads are just come-ons, and they will not sell you that item for that price.

Best Price Cameras

This evening I made a purchase at Best Price Camera, and though I thought I just made a great deal something kept me thinking "this must be too good to be true" or that women have a way of putting "the worry" on you. Fortunately I listen. Later, I began to look into the alias BEST PRICE CAMERAS.com. In a very short time I came across a BBB report and this Epinion "stream of warnings"! I must admit it took reading all the past months of listing to to get through to me - I really wanted that camera at that price (frack this company, man!). It was reading the "telling the pastor" that made me pick up the phone and call my credit card.

There was no charge on my card and no transaction pending. I was able to put it a hold it that NO transactions can get through.

I wish I didn't have to read about others' bad experiences, because that would mean nobody had been ripped off. But know this - I heeded the warnings. I download the BBB report and most of your testimonies, I have all names and numbers. Now lets see what happens...

Thank you all,
David

RE: Best Price Cameras

THIS BROOKLYN NY CON OUTFIT HANGED UP THE PHONE IMMEDIADELY ON ME TWICE WHEN I ASKED THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS REGARDING THEIR NIKON D5O AND D40 DIGITAL SLR CAMERAS ADVERTISED ONLINE FOR $219 AND $240. (NORMALY THESE CAMERAS GO FOR $500+): PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY THIS CAMERA IS PRICED SO LOW? DOES THE CAMERA COME WITH A BATTERY AND A CHARGER AND A CASE AND A STRAP? I GUESS THEY DON'T LIKE THESE QUESTIONS AND FIND THEM VERY OFFENSIVE, SO AFTER SLAMING THE PHONE ON ME I CHECKED OUT THE BBB. THEIR YOU WILL FIND 500+ COMPLAINTS FILED AGAINST. AND YES THAT "HOT" CAMERA THEY'RE ADVERTIZING IS NOTHING BUT A COLD, WORTHLESS, EMPTY CAMERA SHELL.

Best Price Camera

I ordered 2 1/2 weeks ago. Received no confirmation of order, or shipping date. Still haven't. I talked to a representative more than a week ago and was told it would arrive in 6-10 days. I called back today and they had no new information about when it would be shipped. I asked to cancel the order and was insulted and argued with by the sales rep AFTER I had been hung up on 3 times on the phone. SCAM DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!!!

They're still in business?

Wow! After all these complaints they're still in business? Not sure how can they get away with selling a camera then tell you later its actaully just a shell they're selling. I never seen anyone selling a camera shell.

bestpricecameras = scam artist, Inc

One price online, then when I called the price went from 1099. to over 1500. Get this, the scumbag even told me that Samsung has a 90 day warranty :) That's funny.
Then he tried to sell me a stand saying it does not come with one. Liar!
Then when I did not bit on either he wanted to charge me over $250. for(are you ready) packaging and insurance. Well packaging is funny given it may be true since they actually may be RE-PACKAGING a factory product and insurance which is $3.00 per $100. after the first $100. So they took the $30. it may have cost and built a virtual insurance company.

I them told him I have a prinout from them online and the total is not what they are saying. He said he will just cancel my order and hung up.

Here is where they have a problem. He thinks as long as you do not bill the credit card they are safe. WRONG!
You are not permitted to take someones card info under false pretenses. It's a FEDERAL ISSUE pal.

Here is a hint on many (not all) internet scammers. They are mostly based in NY and FL.

FTC Complaint

Hello -

This company is a fraud... I am filing a complaint with the FTC (as opposed to the BBB they have the ability to take action). Please, anyone who feels as though this company practices in unfair trade please call the FTC to file a complaint.

I, personally, would take great joy in shutting this company down.

Thanks,

David

RE: Best Price Cameras

J&K Cameras [listed on E-bay] also trading as EnterprisePhoto.com

Thanks for your reviews you saved me a whole lot of heartache!

I called J&K Cameras looking to buy a Nikon lens while on a visit to the US, Spoke to a very helpful guy Alex Ex280. All good?

Called EnterprisePhoto.com because it’s prudent to have an alternate supplier to cover all bases . What was most worrying was the number listed on the EnterprisePhoto.com website routed me through to the same guy I had just spoken to at J&K Cameras, Alex [if that is really his name].

I asked twice but Alex would not confirm that both J&K Cameras and EnetprisePhoto.com were in fact the same company. My spider senses went into overdrive so I Googled reviews on both companies.

Phew

Thank you again [Tue 23/10/07]

Another Sucker

I wish I'd checked here before I ordered from this company, but a few other consumer sites I checked gave them 5 stars. Nothing but a scam. I ordered a Sony DCR-SR42 camcorder for $215. I should have known better, but I know sometimes, you can find crazy good deals. I spoke with Victor after 2 days to complete my order. Victor told me what I ordered was the "wholesale" package and it wouldn't work when I got it. He started to upsell me the full-box camcorder. I got a shady vibe and asked to cancel. He told me my order was cancelled and then hung up on me. I'm pretty scared now that they have my CC info. I have alerted my CC, but the only thing they can do is cancel my card and since I'm going on vacation in 2 days, I can't really do that. I guess I'll deal with it when it happens.

Ripped OFF

BestPriceCameras.com is indeed a ripoff. Ordered a Nikon camera and specifically asked if it came with a Nikon lens and was told yes. Delivered with a Sigma (??) lens and called them back. Their reply - It is a lens for a Nikon. Never deal with them.

BestPriceCameras are Liars & Thieves

I placed an order online Oct.15th for a Nikon D40 & a 512 memory card, which totaled $398.99. I received an email Oct.17 from Chris at Best Price Cameras (chris@bestpricecameras.com) requesting a call to confirm the order.

I added additional items to my pending order & he hastily gave me a new total. I questioned the new amount - which was $592. There were additional fees I didn't agree to & I explicitly canceled the order at that time. Chris became very hostile and rude, stating that I could not cancel the order & I would be charged for the order (the order had not been processed yet). I replied by stating I am not authorizing this transaction or charge to my credit card. Again, he was rude and hostile and stated that I would be charged for the amount.

He did charge the full amount of $592 to my credit charge, which posted on Oct.17. A charge I did not authorize. I have since contacted my bank to report this as a fraudulent charge.
DON'T buy ANYTHING from this site or company - they are thieves & liars!
