Juniper/Barclay do not open

While waiting for a connection at Atlanta Airport for a flight to Akron Canton. An Air Tran, at least she was wearing an Air Tran shirt, asked my husband and I about opening an A+ VISA account. She told us for a $39 annual fee we would receive a round trip airline ticket. I asked her approximately 4 time what the catch was and each time she assured us if we used it one time we would receive the tickets. My husband and I opened an account we were to each receive round trip tickets. We received our VISA card in the mail and each made a transaction. When the statement came there were no points/credits for a round trip tickets in our A+ Air Tran account. I called Barclay who apparently is the company A+ Air Tran VISA card is with. I was told I did not have the account the rep had discussed with us. We have a no annual fee account with NO air line tickets. Both my husband and my self requested an upgrade to the $39 annual fee account. We were assured that would happen and the points would be in our A+ accounts by the beginning of April. It is April 10 and no points. I have called a number of times since I found out about the mix up with the accounts, each time I am given different information. Everything from the points will be in your account by mid-night, it will take another 30 days your account has not been upgraded yet, we are checking your credit, and the comments go on. It is very difficult to understand the representatives. They are not located in the USA they are in Manila, Philippines. I would think Air Tran would not have any connection with a company such as Barclay. I was told by one of the Applications representatives who had no affiliation with Juniper/Barclay. Apparently she writes applications for a number of companies Juniper/Barclay transferred me to her saying she might be able to help me. She said there really wasn't anything she could do and that I was the third horror story she had heard today about Barclay. I intend to contact Barclay daily until I get the tickets promised me. Then I intend to close the account. I can not trust them with any of my financial information. The saddest part for me is I was promised the round trip tickets and I took the rep at her word. I reserved room at the resort for my brother’s wedding. I told him no problem I will be there. I will be missing the wedding due to scam I was gullible enough to believe because I trusted Air Tran!

Juniper_Shame_On_You

Juniper_Shame_On_You

Today was a first for me. Juniper Master Card. Juniper increased my Rate from 7.99 to 23.24 APR. Their reason, my payment was late. Mind you, the payment at best is 4 days late.

As a rule I pay all payments via bill pay accounts and until this late posting of my payment, I have never missed or been late with a payment with their firm. After heated conversations with them my opinion and actions of Juniper are as follows: They are crooks. Juniper Master Card and this industry will continue to rob people unless they become regulated. The reasonable interest that they make on transactions are not enough, they subscript to greed and will not end their blood sucking practices without the applications of a strong hand that is heavier then the one they currently swing.

My responses to their actions are as follows.

1) I closed my account on the spot.
2) My wife closed her account.
3) I have issued payment in full to bring the balance to zero. (I refuse to allow them an opportunity to make one extra penny at my expense.)
4) I will write both to the state and federal Congress and Senate concerning their policies.
5) My memory is long, and I will protest their action at every opportunity and event that I attend. I believe that I come in contact with no less than 30 people per day. Do the math (30 people * 360days). I will commit to this campaign for at least one year none stop.
6) I will never knowingly support any business or associated business related to Barkley Bank and any of it associated firms and or holding.

Note the number 6. The number should really be 666.

Shame on you Juniper Credit Card and the members of its senior management that would support such a business tactic and strategy.

RE: It is OK if you read the agreements

This would be true if:

1) The credit card agreements were written so one can know exactly what they say.

2) Juniper/Barclays/Airtran were ethical and honest businesses when dealing with consumers which clearly they are not.

Juniper/Barclays MasterCard

they do not comply w/industry standards, and cheated me out of $40 prior to my closing my account with them. They are a joke, and I filed a complaint with the Arkansas Attorney General's office. They wouldn't even provide a current customer, their corporate address or phone number. Said you have to fax a complaint, which I did, twice and never received a response.

Juniper/Barclays bank is a RIP OFF. DON'T EVER ACCEPT ONE OF THEIR CREDIT CARDS.

RE: Juniper_Shame_On_You

file a complaint online with the Arkansas Attorney General's office. It's really easy. They will shut them down, if they get enough complaints.

Thanks,

RE: Penalized for being late...they are RUDE ***I have a phone number!!!***

Hi, I had the SAME thing happen to me, 2 days late (I change bank accounts and online banking), and they charged me $40. I had never asked them to waive anything, and paid my account in full ea month.

They do not comply w/industry standard practices, of offering to waive 1 late fee per year. They would not provide me the address or phone # for their President's Office. Just said it was in Arkansas. I file 2 complaints w/the AR Attorney General's online complaint dept.

Did you have any luck getting your $40 refunded?

Camille Park

Juniper Bank address for General Correspondence
Card Services
P.O. box 8801
Wilmington DE 19889-8801

Credit Card Disputes
P.O. Box 8802
Wilmington DE 19889-8802

Use this form when disputing charges on your Credit Card to Juniper
https://gif.juniper.com/images/forms/dispute_cardservices.pdf

When corresponding with any financial institution regarding a complaint always send the correspondence to them via Certified Letter, Return Receipt requested

You should mail a copy of your complaint to:
Apple Computer
Attn: Mr. Peter Oppenheimer, CFO
1 Infinite Loop
Cupertino, CA 95014

If the CFO, Mr. Peter Oppenheimer gets enough complaints in the form of a written letter (a piece of paper that someone has to do something with) perhaps Apple will reconsider their business relationship with Juniper/Barclays Bank

I just printed out a copy of all of these complaints & am intending to send them to Mr. Peter Oppenheimer. If you can see your way clear to do the same thing......if he continues to hear the same complaints, perhaps he will be moved to action & cancel Apple association with Juniper/Barclays bank.

If you don't say something to Apple, then you are, in essence, putting a seal of approval on the way Juniper/Barclays treated you.

BTW, this isn't the only place where people are complaining about Juniper/Barclay Bank

RE: Juniper/Barclay

I have cards with Chase, Citi and Barclays. I have to say that from a customer service perspective Barclays is clearly the worst. I have never felt like a valued customer with them. Chase has always worked hard to make sure that I am happy. Citi has also provided good service. The best test is how they work with you on the phone when you call in. Only Barclays continuously finds ways to disconnect the call and make me go through everything a second, third and maybe even a fourth time. I am in the process of eliminating any cards that I have with Barclays (even if it will mean that I no longer earn miles on US Airways-I just cannot stand dealing with them anymore).

Write to Apple Inc, complaining of Juniper

Write to Apple regarding your complaints with Juniper

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'd like to suggest you write, directly to Apple regarding your problems with Juniper. Here is a copy of a letter I mailed to the Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Peter Oppenheimer, via certified mail, return receipt requested
====================================================
To: Apple Inc.
1 Infinite Loop
Cupertino, CA 95014

Attn: Peter Oppenheimer, Chief Financial Officer

Re: Juniper has ruined Apple Computer in my eyes; I will not buy an IMAC

I submitted a 12 month, 0% credit application, online through the Juniper website on 22 April.2009. I received a phone call from Juniper on 7 May 2009, verbally telling my $3500 credit limit & 0% financing for 12 months had been approved.

When my card arrived, I carefully read the terms & discovered my $3,500 limit had been approved, however, my 0% financing for 12 months had been denied & no reason was given. Enclosed is my recent credit scores of 773 or higher for all 3 credit reporting agencies + I have 4+ years of employment with the same employer & 4+ years of living in the same place. Rock solid credit.

Considering the multiple reported problems with Juniper, I’ve decided I’m not going to activate the card & I decided NOT to buy $2,500 worth of Apple Products until such time as you sever Apple’s business association with Juniper.

Here is a list of message boards with people complaining about Juniper, for years & years & years:

• http://www.complaint.tv/juniper-1378.html
• http://discuss.pcmag.com/forums/thread/1004421876.aspx
• http://www.my3cents.com/showReview.cgi?id=44821
• http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/...Off0401725.htm If you don't use your Juniper iTunes Rewards VISA (issued by Barclay's) for an entire year, they close the card and report to the credit agencies that you requested to close it.
•http://www.epinions.com/msg/sec_~for...~1/pa_~1?nli=1

Looking over all of the complaints over a long protracted period of time, I’ve decided there are too many questionable business practices & problems with Juniper:

• Too many people reporting they made a timely payment, which was not posted by Juniper in a timely manner resulting in late charges
• Interest rates being increased without notice
• Credit limits being reduced without notice resulting in overcharges

I’m certain you are well aware of the long list of complaints & questionable lending practices of Juniper . I do not understand why Apple Inc continues to maintain a business relationship with them.

Your business relationship with Juniper has turned me off & I will not buy the $2500 worth of products.

I’m lucky, in that I encountered problems with Juniper during the approval process & will not even activate the card I received.

I will be posting this letter on all of the aforementioned websites encouraging all others to also write to you regarding their complaints with Juniper.

At some point in time you will come to realize Juniper is turning customers away from Apple, Inc

Juniper (Barclay's) Master Card

I am so upset with this company. I sent my payment in at least 10 days before due. They posted to my account 1 day late and charged a $39 late fee. This made my account over the limit and they added $39 over limit fee. $78 for holding my payment!!!!!! Their service phone number is in the Phillipines. They will not give you a land based USA phone number. "Just keep calling back until you get answered in the USA" which has not happened...been trying for an hour.

Called consumer reporter volunteer line here and was given some alternatives such as complaining to the OCC.gov which I will do...but still want to talk with a usa rep of this company. I finally got a name and the number is not a working number. Writing a letter just does not satisfy me!!

I get more upset by the minute over this. I fully support the president's legislation to make these companies deal honestly and morally with their customers.

I have had a Juniper/Barclay account for over a year without any problem at all. I have not had any customer
service problems or any other irregularities. They are
a lot better to do business with than CHASE!

this reply was posted on 05.02.2007 & is the only reply ever made.....by jb2002......looks to me like Juniper/Barclay is tooting their own horn

would you believe Barclays bank acquired Lehman Bros in 2008?

hmmmm, looks like they are trying to recoup the losses they sustained when Leman Bros declared bankruptcy

LL Bean, a company I've done business with for years, just changed it's cc from Bank of America (good experience there) to Barclays/Juniper Bank. I applied for the card since it would give me free shipping and other perks.

Just to be on the safe side I entered Barclays/Juniper in this site's search. Wow! I'm so glad I did! I have called and tried to cancel my "pending" account. So far I've talked to four customer service specialists who have each told me something different about cancelling an account which has not yet been opened.

I just want to withdraw the application. How difficult should that be? I have a great credit rating and after reading the posts here, I don't want to have anything to do with this financial institution.

I hope I'll be able to stop them before they issue the card. If not, I'll close the account before ever using it.

I did write to LL Bean and suggested that they had made a big mistake partnering with Barclays/Juniper...

Thanks everyone, for your input. You may have saved me a lot of grief and fury.

I just received my Juniper Visa Card. I am NOT going to activate it.

Gentlepeople:

Barclay-Juniper Malfeasance and Fraud
Card *8111
Case Number: 1163334 and Barclay/Juniper 008-358-354

I hereby deny any indebtedness beyond the charges I made using this credit card which now total $469.13. This amount is in the process of being paid to you now. It does not include the $31.27 you erroneously charged my account.

The April 13, 2009 statement for $50.00 had a payment due date of Sunday, May 3, 2009 and since the US Mail is not delivered on Sunday, the effective due date in law was Monday, May 4, 2009. Our bank electronic bank check arrived in your hands on Thursday, April 30, 2009 and I cannot be held accountable for your check processing procedure which you started on Tuesday May 5, 2009 and did not complete until Wednesday May 6, 2009.

Payment details are: These are the details from my bank.
Payee: Card Services, *8111
Amount: $50.00
Payment type: Check
Payment option: One-time payment
Paid from: FREE CHECKING FOR LIFE, *9708
Sent on: 04/24/2009
Delivered by: 04/30/2009
Confirmation: NBDBG6TD

I consider it to be fraud for you to want me to pay $31.27 on a $50.00 bill that arrived on Thursday, April 30, 2009, well ahead of the legal due date of Monday, May 3, 2009. Why did it take seven days before you completed the payment process that you received on Thursday, April 30, 2009? It is illegal to demand an interest penalty of 5466% on an annualized rate for your failure to process money sent to you in a timely manner.

Please cancel my card *8111 immediately.

I have also been extremely disappointed by the poor customer service I have experienced during this whole process.

I also want you to note in your records that my husband, Charles Colin McNaull, Jr., has my permission to discuss the problems.

I look forward to receiving the credit for $31.27 which will zero out the account.

Sincerely,

Earla Sue McNaull

RE: Contact FDIC regarding Juniper

I posted earlier of the horror I've been through with this company. I found out that the FDIC handles cases like this and Barclay/Juniper is one of their responsibilities. Call them at 877-275-3342, they told me to write up the problems I've had with them and fax (703-812-1020) it over to them or go to their site FDIC.gov
I sent my in Friday and hope to see some action soon.
I HIGHLY SUGGEST EVERYONE DO THIS!! If they see how many of us there are that are getting completely screwed by this company they should take it seriously and see how dishonest and I believe unlawful this company is.

thanks for the info, I'll be firing up my fax machine tomorrow morning

RE: REPORT JUNIPER

I have 2 accounts with Juniper/Barclays, I have made monthly payment 5 to 6 times the minimum, in some cases paying off the entire balance, I have never been late. Several months ago they cut my credit lines in half on both cards. I called the customer service department & was treated like a criminal, they said that it was their call and there was nothing I could do about it and they hung up on me. The next thing I know my largest Credit Card HSBC did the same thing as soon as they saw my credit score had dropped due to being almost at the credit limit with my 2 Juniper accounts, all of this without notifying me. So as to not be without hassling me any further on this last online statement one of my Juniper accounts raised their rate to 14.9% from the 8.9% that I have always had. They are the worst of the worst, they are singlehandly destrying my credit and I plan to pay them off & they can go to h--l. Thank you for the opportunity, I will complain to the AG's office here in Texas about the unfair treatment as well as file a formal complaint to the FTC.
