Join this Class Action if your situation applies

check www.www.braunlawgroup.com. This law firm is going after only one of several predatory practices Chase is engaging in. Maybe they would be willing to take on other issues.

"This is a class action on behalf of all consumers who accepted an offer by JPMorgan Chase Bank (“Chase”) to transfer credit balances at favorable interest rates and were subsequently forced to pay much higher rates because their credit reports contained a late payment to a non-Chase creditor. In a classic bait and switch, Chase lured customers into transferring their balances in exchange for very low APRs of interest. Once the transaction was consummated, Chase scrutinized customers’ credit reports for any blemish including a late payment to ANY other creditor. If found, Chase immediately accelerates the interest rate to a usurious amount, often near 500% times what the customer rightfully expected to pay.

Plaintiff alleges that Defendant’s conduct violated California's Unfair Practices Act [California Business & Professions Code §17200, et seq. and §17500, et seq.], and California’s Consumers Legal Remedies Act [California Civil Code §1750, et seq.]. Plaintiff seeks relief for ongoing violations of law."

Take Chase Down

I have a mortgage through Chase financial. I've always kept my ex-husband's name on my loans because my credit isn't the greatest and he never paid child support. He never came around and I always paid the payments. We were with another company at a fixed rate and my payments were 612.00 a month. One day I received an estimate addressed to him in the mail from Chase for a loan on the house. I called him and asked him what it was about and he said he was thinking about refinancing. They sent something to him at HIS address stating that he was preapproved and could get up to 10,000.00 cash back. The estimate I was looking at was a loan which showed a 120,000.00 ARM loan. I owed 70,000.00 on my house. I told him to forget it. I had recently found out that he had physically and sexually abused my daughter and children's division had issued a no contact order. ( I was denied a restraining order due to a custody order already on file, so I was in the process of modifying that.) He said to think about it, that he really needed the money. I asked him if he even knew what an ARM was. Of course he didn't, I didn't really care because I knew I would have to sign the papers and I had no intentions of doing that. When I refused to go and sign the papers they sent a contractor out with him. He was drunk, I told the man that I didn't want to sign the papers and the man sat there and watched him holding me by the arm and even told me stories of other people he couldn't complete due to liens or conflicts. I never spoke with any one from Chase, on one set of papers it said he paid child support and on the other it said he lived here. At one point he called and said he needed a utility bill with his name on it. I told him he doesn't live here -why would there be a bill here with his name on it. He called back and said never mind they don't need to verify residency. THEY NEVER ONCE SPOKE TO ME. When I tried to cancel the loan they said to send in the papers, I told them he had them and I needed them to send me another set. Well, he was the only one on the loan. Two months later, when he was being questioned about the sexual assault on my daughter he commited suicide. Now, I can't inquire about anything on the loan. I've been here 10 years and I'm looking for a place to live. I make the payments every month on time, but when the ARM goes into effect or if something goes wrong I'm screwed. THEY just did all of this without ever even checking the situation or talking to me (but my name and ssn was on everything) and then they sent someone to my house when he wasn't allowed near me or my children. Now my credit is TOTALLY messed up and I can't get anything in my name. I filed a complaint but they said I signed it in good faith. When he died they said if I send in his death certificate then that will trigger their legal team. I know I should have never had him on the loan in the first place, but I have all the kids medical bills and couldn't qualify for a loan at all. So I just send in the payments each month and wait for them to screw something up or take my house. They won't talk to me about anything - they won't even tell me if I have a late payment or if my payment has been received. My Deed has both of our names on it with rights of survivorship so legally everything should've come to me. They created the deed and still won't acknowledge it. I hope someone takes em down.

RE: Take Chase Down

didnt you say you had bad credit to begin with. as long as one of the people is on the mortgage that is all that matters. and all they know is what he told them.

RE: Take Chase Down

So it's ok that I can't inquire about anything on my loan at all??? Yeah one of us is on the loan and he's dead. I'm not crying, I quit crying a long time ago. I just want someone who knows what I can do to save my house. I do have bad credit, I have tons of medical bills from raising my kids by myself for 19 years and one kid that's been in and out of the mental institute 4 times in the last year after her dad did some pretty serious crap to her and then offed himself when he couldn't take the heat anymore. I don't know if I should walk away from this house or if there's a way I can fight for it to save it. I've been working on it for 10 years. And I would think that when a mortgage company gets conflicting information about an applicant they would check it out. THAT's ALL I'M SAYING. I'd think they'd want to talk to both parties before sending someone out to the HOUSE.

Chase is a bank, not a circus?

My situation is a little bit different than everyone else. I got my chase bank credit card as a way to build credit so I could finance a new car. Even though I am only 18 I have 2 jobs and I work about 70 hours a week. I live with my parent and only pay about $50 a month to them for bills. I don't have many bills so it seemed like it would be really easy to pay my credit card. I thought I was doing well until July when chase bank called me I was 8 days late on my statement and I had to pay $100 right away cause of late charges. I asked them why I had no statement and why that even though I payed 2 payments already and had only had the card for two months that this happened.I also told them about how I had called a couple of weeks earlier and asked about my statements. I was told that I had payed both times before I was suppose to get my statement that it didn't count. I was also insured that I was getting my statements and that I was just a regular irresponsible 18 year old. Now it is October I have yet to receive one statement and I am always late because my payment date jumps every month. My credit is now totally ruined and I have no way of buying a new car. My jobs are at risk because my car wont last much longer. Even though I pay I am still at a balance of 500, my limit. I've put so much money into late fees and all the other bull and I'm going no where. On the bright side I took classes on general information for law, courts, and a in-depth look on class action lawsuits. I have all my info so if nothing changes I am taking charge, I will not be another victim. If you've had the same problem please contact me. I have been keeping track of similar incidents.

RE: Good luck...

Yes, Chase is the devil incarnate! I just got off the phone with their customer service representative, Vonda, who, after swallowing the food she was obviously eating during the call (very professional) she got very smart with me about my account. I asked her to explain why I could not qualify for an int. rate reduction (I got rate-jacked to their infamous 29.99% due to utilization, not bad credit), she told me that they base the rate on my account activity with Chase. She put me on hold (probably to finish her meal), and when she got back on the phone she told me that they company pulled my credit report in September 2006) and that's why my rate increased. When I reminded her of her initial explanation and told her that I have an excellent payment history with Chase, she got really nasty and said "I also told you that we base it on your credit report. OBVIOUSLY, YOU DIDN'T HEAR ME." I guess in addition to making all of their credit-worthy customers sub-primers, they hire sub-prime help as well.

Anti Chase

I finally canceled my 2 checking accounts with Chase. I had these account for 11 years. Chase Bank sucks! If I tell you different stories how they treated me, it would take me 50 pages. In short I took an action and said : "NO MORE".

There is no reason for customers and consumers to keep having business with Bank that don't value business they have with them!

It took me awhile to detach but this was the best ethical decision I have made this month!

I simply don't want to have business with people who clearly disvalue me. It's not the only bank in the world.

Also none of my children ( potential customers ) will have business with Chase. If all unhappy people open accounts with good banks, maybe bad banks like Chase would not be open for much longer.

Because having business with Bank that clearly don't value customers is like bad relationship with a man or woman, in which you are clearly 1) financially used and taken advantage off 2) disvalued and 3) not worth of effort.

This is your money, not theirs, you should be in charge of how things are taking place, they should follow rules and regulations, and if they don't - leave them!!!!!!

Don't wait, just do it you can't possibly make mistake with a bank who don't value you.

Sincerelly,
Anti Chase - Hana

Make Haste - Run From Chase

I have a perfect credit history with Chase. I spoke with a Josh B ( Customer Service Agent ) today who threatened a negative report to damage my credit history if I did not answer ALL of his questions as to my reasons for wanting to leave. I said "customer service" but that did not satisfy. He demanded more and refused to close my account. "Ok Josh... It is You".

The "Y'all Come Back"airline that promotes this bank through their frequent flyer program might want to rethink the relationship. You got the LUV, now show it!

Chase Credit Cards

I have had the same issue with Chase as many of you did. Rate increases without notice. I have recorded phone conversations with their reps and none of their stories add up. They even threatened me if I publish them on you tube. I am looking to make a documentary as I am a film maker in Los Angeles on Chase and the credit card company. I’m also talking to a lawyer and if anyone else wants to get into a class action lawsuit let me know

Email me at this email chasecreditcards@gmail.com and give me your story on your Chase Credit Card nightmare. I’m looking for credit card stories only not banking issues. I’m looking to make this a very public matter something Chase doesn’t want.

Chase ripoffs

I realise all banking institutions have there fees and charges and hidden percentage rates. I am in MI. and while only at the bank for 4 months we added up all the charges and fees it is over 1200.00..Well today I closed my account. They agreed they were a liability to me instead of a bank..They refused to refund me any fees and said goodbye don't let the door hit ya! Some of these fees were added as ins. funds of 35.00 -40.00 each which is illegal standard . There is a state wide standard for fees and MI. legal limit is 25.00. I called and spoke with them and they told me i was little so sue them..Goodbye to me. I suppose there is not much to do. One day they will get challenged by someone who can afford to get them.

RE: Chase Bank experience

Hello...This is what they thrive on normal people living check to check so they can get everything you don't have and once you start to spiryl down there is no up from it..I am down 1200.00 because of this ..I direct deposit every 2 weeks. They refuse me overdraft protection..My check gets deposited Thursday at Midnight..So Fri. I go pay all my bills for the next two weeks. I found out just today they wait to deposit until midnight Friday and I have been getting charged 35.00 fees on every bill I paid on Friday's. I had a hard time figuring out why my account was always in the neg- Because of this practice. Our checks are drawn from chase so they feel they have this control...I think this is SLIMY!! I closed my account today!!! They SUCKED as BANK ONE but worse now...

RE: Lawsuit over Chase Bank fees

My mom is getting ripped off by chase bank and now she can't pay her bills anymore. They have charged her so much money in late fees that she has used everything she has to cover them. My mom is 70 years old and is alone after 50 years of being with my father who passed away 2 years ago. I have had to send her money to cover her bills because she has $9.00 in the bank after they charged her account for all kinds of fees. She is getting hit for NSF fees from $70.00 to $105.00 per check they say their covering. I told my mom to get copies of every transaction for the past year and copies of all her checks front and back so I can audit her account to see what's going on. She shows to have money in the bank, but yet they keep telling her she has all these fees. Do you know if there is a class action suit with Chase Bank over this or where I can go to find out? I am desperate for information on this. My mom can't live on her own anymore because of Chase Bank and I am fed up with them. She is in poor health and still has to work a full time job and still can't make ends meet. Something has to give. She is in Arizona and I am in Texas trying to deal with all this. Can you please help me???

RE: Chase Bank experience

Hi,
Chase has charged me with almost $500 in insufficient fees, although I had made a deposit to cover the checks. I found out that my deposit was held.
I went to the bank and was told that the head of the small business department would get in touch with me. Of course, he never did. I work from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm, so I have to wait until Saturday to go back and complain. I feel ROBBED!!!
Yesterday I decided to look on the internet, so I typed -

illegal insufficient funds fee Chase

I am shocked by the posts I am finding.

Good Luck,
I will keep you posted as to my progess with Chase.
Ms. Kate

CHASE BANK IS DISHONEST

I have had so many problems with Chase that I have asked for all 3 of my accounts to be closed. A few months ago I paid the balances via balance transfer for the two Chase cards that had balances owing, using a new card from my primary bank, US Bank. One of the transfers was posted to the account, but the other was returned to US Bank. When I called Chase to inquire, they refused to even look at my statement from US Bank clearly showing that both transfers were made until I settled the account (which because of the returned transfer was now late).
I physically went to US Bank and was told that they had received one of the transfers back from Chase uncashed. The manager not only issed a new transfer, but he wrote Chase a letter detailing the events and confirming that the payment was made in a timely manner and that Chase had given no reason for returning the check. The account was paid and I sent Chase a copy of my US Bank statement showing both original drafts sent directly from the bank on the same day and a copy of the manager's letter confirming that Chase had returned one payment without reason.
Chase has now refused to correct their mistake and claims that they do not know why they returned the check...gee, how convenient! They refuse to take responsibility for their actions and are charging me late fees and interest because of their poor accounting practices!
I would never do business with them again!

Incident with Chase Teller

I just had a very unpleasant experience with a teller at the Chase branch on Park Avenue and 52nd street in Manhattan.

I got reimbursed for some $$$ that I laid out at work so, rather than depositing in my checking and then paying the card I wanted to just pay the card with the check. I've done it before so I know it's not an unreasonable request.

I told the cashier (and, granted, I know I wasn't clear) 'l'd like to put this against my credit card'

She said 'you can't cash a check against your credit card. Do you have an account with us?' I said 'no I don't want to cash the check I want to pay my credit card with it' she said 'oh so you want to pay it TOWARD your credit card..you should have said pay it TOWARD the card.' I didn't say anything and when she finished the transaction she held onto my card and the slip and said 'PAY IT TOWARD...PAY IT TOWARD' LOUDLY.. I was really humiliated. There was a long line of people and three other tellers. I said 'thank you for correcting me' and walked out.. As I was walking out the door I heard her say again (maybe she was repeating it to another teller) PAY IT TOWARD.

At this point I've had it with Chase and am changing banks.

A bank forged my signature onto a legal document

I urge anyone who is currently with ----- bank to move your money. I understand that I am not allowed to mention the banks name in this letter so let me give you a hint. When you were in grade school the boys and girls would
----- after each other in a playful way or game. One of the employees at a ----- Bank branch opened a line of credit on my company without my permission. The employee came into my office and asked about opening a line of credit and was told "NO". Since then the line of credit was used when we were trying to change from ----- bank to another bank due to many many other problems. I still had electronic drafts hitting my checking account and there wasn't money there so they started hitting the line of credit that I never approved. I found out about it 3 months and 12,000.00 dollars later. When asking for a copy of the documents approving this line of credit, I found that the signatures were not mine or my husbands. Let me go on to inform you that the documents signed consisted of a promisory note!! The ----- Bank employee insists that I signed the documents the very day that he came into my office. Well, lets see, I told him I didn't want a line of credit - soooo what I went ahead and signed for it anyway. What did he do, just pull the documents out of his bag with all my information on it already and I signed after saying "NO".
People alway remember "NO MEANS NO"!!
OH they reimbursed me the fees without even a blink of the eye, but still think I should pay the interest accured. What are you nuts? Now, I think its weird that they would reimburse me anything if they really thought I signed those documents. I guess I am the crazy one!! This is what you call taking advantage of the common individual. Do they think they can just do whatever they want with your money, and when you don't like it, they just reimburse you the fees and all is well. I don't think so. But because I am such a little person in a the huge world of banking - I am pushed aside, reimbursed some fees and laughed at.

BEWARE OF CHASE BANK

BUYER BEWARE.
Chase has got to be by far the most unethical, disrespectful bank that I have ever dealt with.

They are greedy and want to maximize their profits at the expense of the consumer.

The situation involved my credit card. I was charged late fees, an over limit fees, and various other finance charges and fees that totaled 240 dollars, in one month.

I chose to use their online service to transfer money from my other bank account to my credit card account, held by chase. Chase charges a fee for this transaction. So my account was over the limit. Chase also charged me an insufficient funds fee. I disputed this and sent them a bank statement PROVING that there was money in my account at the time and there is no way that the account had insufficient funds.

I finally closed the account and paid it in full. But the fees never stopped.

Did you know that if you have a balance on your chase account, you will have to pay compound interest on that dollar amount regardless of how its computed?

Let me elaborate:

If you closed your account, which you should do if your reading this, and you paid the balance in full, the interest that was charged will still be valid on that account.
Lets assume that this interest amount is $100

If you pay that $100, you will recieve a bill the next month, charging you interest on that amount that you owed, this cycle will not break, until you pay them more than they bill you for and hope to get a refund check in the mail.

I am very dissatisfied with chase, and have done everything in my power to make others aware of their business model:

GET AS MUCH AS YOU CAN FROM THESE IGNORANT PEOPLE WHILE THE PICKINGS GOOD!

My loss is your gain, as I have valuable advice:

Never bank with chase, do your research. You have the power of google at your fingertips. This will happen to you if you do. Think enron. Not all big corporations are ethical, and eventually they get taken down.
