RE: FIGHT BACK ON CHASE BANK

Thank you for such wonderful information about the banking supervision site. If I don't get satisfaction through Chase, I now have somewhere to go. Epinions ought to have a special place where "gems" are published because this is too important to miss!!!

Chase

My wife and I have recently fallen victim to one of Chase's little scams.

A couple of years back, we took advantage of a 0% interest offer from Chase. We transferred the balance of a couple other interest bearing credit cards to the 0% account at Chase, then closed those other accounts.

Since we've had the Chase account, we've received offers almost constantly to use our Chase account for other purchases - all at varying interest rates. They also frequently sent those little convenience checks for us to use.

Of course, had we fallen for any of that, the fine print said we had to pay off the 0% portion of the account before any of our payments would be applied to the interest bearing balance. That assured the interest would pile. So we held steadfast, not using any of the falling for this convenient little trap Chase tried to sucker us into.

We've never had a late payment and have always paid nearly double the minimum monthly payment.

I guess, realizing they didn't have a couple of fish on their hook, Chase decided to try a new tactic. They've added a $10.00/month surcharge to the 0% interest account, until the balance is paid.

Like many others who have commented here, we contacted Chase, but gotten nowhere. And like others here, we demanded the name and address of a supervisor we could contact - which they did give us.

The letter was returned - undeliverable. The address was fake. And, no, we didn't make a mistake on the address. It was fake.

I'm hoping someone with connections in Congress can forward this entire thread. Maybe Federal action will bring Chase into line. But, I'm not holding my breath !

RE: Ready to Take Action Now!!!

Did you file suite yet? The reason I ask is I just found out that I have been paying $100 per year to a company that says they are part of Chase called WC Buyers Plus. I call Chase and they admitted that this is an affiliate. To date it has cost me $800 for nothing.

I googled this company to find out its a scam. If you haven't file yet I would like to help.

Thanks.

chase is the devil

I hate Chase!!! I had a credit card with them along time ago and they were always rude and sneaky (raising my APR to a wopping 29.99% without any notification). When that happened I paid it off, closed the account and never looked back vowing that I would never deal with them again. Now my sweet WAMU has been consumed by the devil so now I will have to change my direct deposit and all that other stuff the sever ties with them once again!!!! Why don't they just collapse? Why doesn't everyone know what an unprofessional corporation they are? ANYONE READING THIS WHO HAS HAD NO EXPERIENCE WITH CHASE HEED MY WARNING!!! STAY AWAY FROM CHASE!!!

Chase called and apologized!

My complaint to the OCC yielded results. Three weeks after my complaint, Chase called me and reversed/credited all charges and interest rates.

Keep up the pressure, they're folding!

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (oversight of banks such as Chase) can be reached as follows:
You can reach one of the OCC Customer Assistance Specialists by calling our toll free number, 1-800-613-6743, Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Central Time or by sending an email to Customer.Assistance@occ.treas.gov

Thieves named Chase Bank

Good evening,
Last week our checking account fell into the negative by approximately $50. I discovered this and moved sufficient funds to cover the discrepancy and any reasonable late fees.

These thieves then charged me $128 for the NSF!!!!!!
And, on top of that, they charged me $3.00 more than the account held, putting me in NSF again!!!!!!!!
Since then, I've been hit with another $130 because their exorbitant NSF charges keep knocking the balance below 0.

I'm totally disgusted with this bank and am going to close my account this week.

This is the most disreputable company that I've had the misfortune of doing business with in a long time. I will be seeking legal counsel!!!

Chase

Name should be Chase me out the door, i called the customer service and also the 800 numbers they gave me and wrote a letter they are the most manipulative bank i have ever come to know. I had an account with them for 1 month and they stated that i was using unusual tactics with my account. I have to say that i will never use a big name bank at all, anymore, let them go down.

Chase/Criminals

About a year ago I opened a Chase credit card, which at that time was Washington Mutual. I was a customer in very good standing, i.e., never late, never skipped a payment. Within one year, my interest rate went from 11.99% 54%. YES, you read it right....54%, that is, FIFTY-FOUR PERCENT. 4 weeks after they raised it from 42% to this sick amount of 54%, and after a year of paying them all of this interest along with my normal charges,(a ton of money they made off of me)they sent me a letter stating that I need to pay this debt off and that I am officially dropped from this card. No explanation, nothing. Just...because. Does anyone know if this is legal and/or what can be done? I'm sure their dropping me hurt my credit score. And I think with all the interest I have been paying for no reason my debt was payed off 3 times over! Consumer Affairs and others have ignored my desperate plea's for justice. Thanks all~

RE: Thieves named Chase Bank

Yes, they certainly are a dispicable group. What kills me is.....THEY GET AWAY WITH IT!!! Where the hell is the law! What about OUR so-called rights??? That is all a bunch of hooey. We have absolutely no rights what so ever. They just tell us that to pacify us. It reminds me of the propaganda on the TV's regarding the holocaust. They made infomercials with children playing, couples dining as if they were at a resort when in reality these innocent people were being inhumanely abused and slaughtered. Please read my blog Aug.5, 2009, FedUp2Much. Another horrifying "Chase" story. I've written to OCC, Senators, Consumer Affairs.....nothing. Anybody can do whatever they want and we just have to suck it up. It is nerve-racking, disturbing, and potentially cancer causing stressful! I wish you the best of luck.

Another disatisfied customer!

Chase - What a joke! Fortunately I was luckier than most. They only got me for $67.

I had a Chase Visa card for years but never carried a balance and paid it off every month. Consequently my interest rate was never increased (that I know of).

My problem came when I bought an item that was a scam. Chase refused to give credit for this item unless I paid return shipping to send it back but the merchant would not accept returns. How is that for a stupid policy? I went through the customer service dog and pony show to no avail last week.

I immediately got a new card from a different bank and canceled the Chase card. Tomorrow I have a CD maturing at Chase bank (Opened with WAMU) worth big $$$. It will be taking a trip to a new bank also. I guess Chase isn't smart enough to check and see what other investments their card holders have before they try to screw with them.

I feel so sorry for everyone that has been ripped off by this shady outfit. Please be assured that they will be getting theirs! I will take my pound of flesh with all of you in mind.

AVOID CHASE LIKE IT HAS THE PLAGUE!!!

RE: Chase

I have had many problems with chase when I have paid off my card. On 2 seperate occassions they have charged me finance charges on a $0 balance. Instead of rewarding you for paying off your balance they punish you with bogus finance charges, with mumbo jumbo talk that doesn't make any sense and just a bunch of words to try and justify those bogus charges. I was sick of it. The first time I sent a complaint through the Attorney General www.mi.gov/ag (if you live in Michigan) after the Attorney General reviewing those bogus charges they were removed immediately. So, that PROVES they were bogus and just trying to take advantage of the customers that pay. How many times has someone just paid them without even realizing it. So, here we are again. We had a Washington Mutal Credit Card, they were bought out by CHASE, again, we paid off our balance, and the next month, finance charges on a $0 balance. I called chase to have the charges removed, again they wouldn't, they wouldn't let me talk to anyone higher up and nothing got resolved. Again, I have sent a complaint through the Attorney General, sent them copies of my statements and payments and dates.
My advice to everyone when it comes to Credit Cards: Don't be fooled by their tech talk about this stuff, if they don't resolve it on the phone, take notes dates times and put in a complaint to the Attorney General for the state that you live in. For Michigan it's www.mi.gov/ag
I have learned that Chase does not care about CUSTOMER SERVICE, what they care about is how much can I soak these paying customers for.
Good Luck everyone!

RE: Thieves named Chase Bank

Contact the Attorney General in the state for which you live. You can file a complaint online. I have done that with them over my credit card balance. I had a $0 balance and they charged me finance charges a month later. The Attorney General had the charges removed. Give it a try.

CHASE AUTO LOAN SCAM

We decided to go with Chase Bank for a used auto loan because we could save a little by opening a checking account with them. What a nightmare! I made the appointment for a Saturday so my husband wouldn't have to take off work. My mother (who's van we were buying) went with us to sign the title. When we finished everything she was told she would have to wait until Monday for her check as all the tellers had gone home. She wasn't happy but we went back Monday for her check. The loan officer told me to take the form her gave me to the DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) and I could get my temporary plates. We went Tuesday because they are closed on Mondays.
GUESS WHAT!!!
In Illinois you have to have the actual title to get license plates. By this time they had already sent the title to their offices in Kentucky and now I have a $10,000.00 lawn ornament that I can't drive and it could be WEEKS before I get my corrected title and license plates. "TOO BAD SO SAD" IS THEIR RESPONSE!!!
