most scary movie ever
clearly the most scariest movie by far compared to the exercist is Harry Potter and philosophers stone...purely because all the characters are soo ugly, mainly harry and his friends. |

Amytiville Horror = BORING/Comedy
OMG Amytiville Horror is one the most BORING movies i've ever seen. I watched it last week with a few friends at night, lights off, sound turned up nearly to full expecting to crap ourselves with horror...im sitting there waiting for somthing to happen....an nothing happens the whole movie is pretty much people just sitting there talking about crap...ohh and I am 99.9 percent sure that I saw the string rocking the rocking chair. If you want a good fright then dont get this movie. I think that weird thing in the window is funny seeing as it looks like a purple haired pig with hair. In conclusion this movie should not be clasified as horror. |

RE: Threads
Quote: darylcarpenter I guess no one here has seen the 1984 BBC TV movie Threads, about the aftermath of a nuclear war? I saw that movie when I was 15 and I think it screwed me up for the rest of my life. It made The Day After look like an afterschool special. The hospital scene alone gave me nightmares for days.
Hmmm I'll have to look for that one.

Scariest movie ever? My Opinion
First I would like to comment. While reading the post I was hoping to see "THE TALE OF TWO SISTERS" listed. Well, I found it listed (member: pneuma_9000 posted on: Mar 20 06, Janghwa, Hongreon- A Tale Of two Sisters 2003... What made me think of that was someones post asking for something that really messed with our minds. Well, Tale of two sisters did just that for me. I've watched it twice and still can't figure out what happened as their are so many things going on at the end. This movie is about a sister that does not realize her sister is dead, and continues to interact with her as if she was still there. When it comes to the ending of this momive if anyone has any idea please let me know! This movie reminded me of the grudge.
My all time scariest movie was "THE AMITYVILLE HORROR" (original). When the house says "GET OUT" I about dumped right there LOL. The new 2005 version is more clear on the characters and events of the original movie.
The movie I watched when I was young that scared the living daylights out of me was called "IT'S ALIVE". I think I was only around 11 when I watched it on HBO with my really cool babysitter. I did watch it again just this year (im now 36) and it still was pretty creepy. It is about a baby that is born that is disfigured (looks like a little devil) and really messed up (I think due to chemicals mother was around or ingested). Immediately the delivery room notices there is something wrong as the mother is having extreme labor. The baby is born and people are being ripped apart. The baby takes off all by itself from the delivery room, and goes wild on the town. The father is dead set on getting this child and destroying it. Check it out. Kinda corny, but weird!
I LOVE movies about angry ghosts. Anything like that I will watch. A GREAT movie was "THE HAUNTING". I think that movie wasn't "scary", but the scenery, story, and actors were incredible to me.
The most current movie I just watched is called "THE DARK" and I thought it was GREAT. It is about how the dead found a way to come back by sacrificing another. The dead child interacts with the family of a missing child.

RE: Boring!
I've been looking for a decent horror myself for quite some time. And I completely agree. Horror movies for the most part just aren't worth watching any more. Last one that got me was The Ring. I liked the 'absolutely no escape' theme. I liked Cabin Fever since the story isn't completely rejectable in real life. But, it was more eary than scary.
I'm an atheist. But, since I went to catholic school, sometimes I find the 'dark side of christianty' themed movies fun and intreguing. But, they don't really get me. SO PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU FIND ANYTHING!
My only suggestion and vindication:
Tonight, I plan to play (or at least start) the fourth silent hill, alone, in the dark, since the second one really got to me. |

Freaky Movies
Ok, Being Honest, when i first saw "saw" the guy in teh wire going syco freaked me out. And "wolf creek", i found it disturbing. In "hide and seek" where that freaky charlie monster thingo slashes onto teh screen in the guys dream... that was really wierd. I seiriously cracked up laughing in "saw" when the guy with teh slit throat comes down tehs tairs just after the asian man gets his head blown off by teh trip wire, he makes a funny noise it made me laugh so much, we rewinded it like 60 times just to hear it it was so funny. but i could not sleep at all after watching "wolf creek" |

Scariest in my opinion
1. The Entity (about a woman who's raped repeatedly by an entity. Was suposed to be a true story.)
2. If I Die Before I Wake (a family is awakened by two guys and brutally raped and killed in front of each other, but the teenage daughter outsmarts them. Very graphic, realistic. Mostly why it's scary.)
4. 28 Days Later (Could happen, maybe. Infection spreads causing rage. Not the typical zombie film. Isolation/loneliness and despair.)
That's about it off the top of my head. I hated The Ring, The Saw, Gothica, ect. All the new "trendy" movies are so boring. Making you sit through the whole boring film, just to have some retard plot at the end. I hate movies like that. |

RE: Threads
OMG thank you. That's what happened to me in high school after watching The Day After. It's so scary cause it could happen and the devistation afterwards. Not all scary movies have to envolve chainsaws! In my eyes, this is much more frightening. |

RE: Ur all wussies!!!
Quote: darylcarpenter Here's a few recommendations:
Manos: The Hands of Fate
Devil Fish
Barney's Great Adventure
Alien: Resurrection
The Incredible Melting Man
Blood Waters of Dr. Z
For the scariest movies or the most likely to be on MST3000?
I couldn't have sat through Manos: the Hands of Fate if not for the MST3K commentary track. AWFUL AWFUL Movie. |

RE: Scariest movie ever?
Ahh, I think "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" (1978 version) belongs on any scary movie list. |

Eyes
For me the scariest movie I've seen recently is "The Hills Have Eyes". Just the fact that it took place in todays setting and that the desert is such a mystery.
I want to see a movie that REALLY scares the pants off me. Ghosts really scare me.....any suggestions??

Hasnt been mentioned
I think "It" (1990) by Stephen King was mentioned. That movie made me scared of clowns for a long time after that. I swear that idea for the "Can't sleep clowns will eat me shirt" came from me lol.
Also Children of the Corn was scarey since I watched it when it first came out to VHS and I wasn't supposed to.
Ghost Ship was also one of my favorites. The dancing scene with the captain, the little girl, and the cable... priceless. If you want to stay alive, don't sin.... |
