Golden nails

All right beauty consultants of epinions, I have a challenge for you.

Years ago I used to have a fantastic gold nailpolish made by Wet n'Wild. Of course, I don't think they make it anymore. Now, I love having gold toesies (it's so cute, trust me), but I simply cannot find a good gold nailpolish. Who can help?

Before you get too excited, mind you, I mean GOLD. I've seen faded gold, gold-bronze, and other variations, but the one I had was pretty much a golden nugget melted down. Here's an idea of what I mean. BAM! Gold.

Who'll strike gold for me?? (haha)

RE: Golden nails

have you looked at all the OPI shades? :) they have so many, I'd be surprised if they didn't have something.

OH and also maybe something like Urban Decay or Hard Candy, they have funky colors like that.

Or go on Sephora.com and do a search for gold nail polish, no telling what may come up with their hundreds of brands!

Shantel :)

(who would gladly do all this searching for you herself if she wasn't up to her eyeballs with work! lol)

There may be something like this at Sally Beauty Supply. That would be the first place I would look, or even at Wal-Mart or various drugstores like CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreen's etc. I've seen this quite often but can't remember where now.

This doesn't look gold but it says it is. You would have to actually see it. But I saw the platinum and it was PLATINUM!

Opi Gold

RE: Golden nails

I went to Sephora before coming here, actually, but they didn't have hardly anything in terms of nail polish - even when I did just a general search.

Hard Candy only showed six shades. Urban Decay didn't show anything. I've seen OPI somewhere and so far they show the most promise. Sally Beauty is no gold. Sally Hansen, not quite. E.l.f. doesn't have anything either.

For the past several years since the sad demise of my beloved golden nail polish, I've been on the lookout for another at any store that sells nail polish. CVS. Places in malls. Random manicure places I visit with a friend. No joke. Every time I'm near a place that sells nail polish, I go, "Ooh, hold on, let me see something real quick." But it's always the faded gold or not-quite-gold. It sucks. Or I see nail polish that's just gold sparklies. But I'm looking for a solid color and I'm still hoping...

RE: Golden nails

Essie usually offers every color imaginable, but their gold options don't look too promising.

Rescue Beauty Lounge makes a soft gold. You might be able to achieve the color you want by mixing this shade with a copper-ish shade.

Creative Nail Design also makes a gold shade called VIP Status (scroll down to the "bolds" section and you'll see it). Hard to tell if it's more glittery than pigmented, though.

Goldilocks Rocks

Here are a few more OPI Golds, although it's difficult to tell from this computer if they're the type of gold you're looking for.

Here's another. Might be for kids, but it looks plenty goldy and not super glittery!

Nefertiti and No More Drama from the Lippman Collection may be worth checking out, too. It's so hard to get a good idea of the shade from the online swatches. :(

You might check out Guerlain, too, although their polish can be somewhat hard to find. I hope you find something you like! I know it's rough to have a favorite shade discontinued.

RE: Golden nails

i just read a review of this and it was described like the gold you are looking for

http://cgi.ebay.com/MAC-Gold-Veneer-Nail-Polish-Antiquitease-Sold-Out_W0QQitemZ200202091110QQihZ010QQcategoryZ106258QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

also, check www.makeupalley.com and someone may have the one you like from Wet n Wild listed for swapping/trading :) sometimes those gals grab the discontinued shades and stash them away brand new for occasions like this when people are looking for them!

HOLY CRICKEY

Shantel may have found my gold! The 24K gold in the second link looks like it could very well be exactly what I'm looking for!

Now to gather a little info...

(a few minutes later)

OMG $9.95 for shipping and no returns on nail polish? *cries*

Hey if it doesn't work, turn around and sell it on eBay after reviewing it (for a $2 VH) and I'm sure you'll make your money back.

Does nail polish sell well on eBay? That always seemed strange to me. I mean, I've sold makeup on there before, but in an unused condition and usually in bulk amounts. Well, no that's not true, I did sell one Mary Kay item on there once because it was sooo not my color...

Good tip. I'll be sure to keep that one in mind if I just can't find gold anywhere else (online or around town) and finally just freak out and buy it. =P
