Sephora!!!!!

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I failed to tell you gals that we got a Sephora here in our mall! I almost passed out when I heard we were getting one a month or 2 ago. It opened this past weekend and I was finally able to go over there today and I was in hog-heaven! LOL I am giddy at the thought of having a Sephora at my disposal, anyday of the week! No more shipping! No more driving to Atlanta! No more wondering if something will work based on the sephora.com website (since you can't try-before-you-buy on there).

So I am ecstatic! The ladies working there were super nice and friendly and I think I chatted with all 10 of them by the time I checked out LOL

Whoo hoo! :)

RE: Sephora!!!!!

HAHA! I can relate, Shantel. Since moving to NY there are Sephora stores everywhere! So nice to just walk in and browse :) Not good for the pocketbook though - lol!

RE: Sephora!!!!!

yeah I'm thinking it's a good thing I don't have much free time anymore to just go wander to the mall LOL but it will be nice now to know that if I need something I can run and get it instead of having to order it, pay shipping and wait a few days! :)

Congrats! That's how I felt when a LUSH opened in Cleveland last year! Another nice thing about having a Sephora close by is that if a color or product doesn't work for you, you can return it with no questions asked, even if you've used it! I love that return policy!

RE: Sephora!!!!!

yeah i walked in there for the first time with a return! LOL it was something i purchased last time i was in atlanta but I was so unhappy with it I held onto it until my next trip, and then i found out we were getting one so i just took it to them! It was a $22 item so I was thrilled to have that money back! Which I (of course) turned around and still spent in there but at least I'm happy with what it bought this time!

RE: Sephora!!!!!

I also love their Insider reward card thing. I'm sure you know about this already, though. You get good-sized samples with every $100 you spend. They accumulate online and in the storess. I love samples. And you get a free mini Sephora brand body wash in a cupcake scent for your birthday.

What did you get? I recently got a Fresh brand Appleseed Brightening Exfoliant and Brightening Essence sample set and a LORAC foundation sample...I usually spend $100 every time I go to Sephora and every time I order. I can't help myself...

Yes, that's what I meant (your free sample). I got another one last night at Sephora, the new Sephora Atomic Volume Mascara. Then I went home and ordered online and got a Laura Geller sample, but I forget what it is. I spend too much at Sephora...

Is it full size?

I am almost at 100 points and wonder what I will get...and how much of it.

Shantel hasn't been back so I thought I would answer. They never give full-size. They are deluxe samples. It seems to vary by store and online. I get different samples at the store than I do online, even if it's the same day. The other day when I was there, I got to choose between a LORAC foundation sample, Sephora Atomic Volume Mascara and something else (I forget what it was). The samples are bigger than regular small samples but are still fairly far from full-size. I think they rotate the sample selection pretty often.

Gotcha. I did read after I posted that it was a deluxe sample. I am close to 100 points but don't need anything. I really don't. I am close to buying some 100% Pure makeup from QVC that I don't need but I looked on the Sephora website and, to my amazement, I couldn't find much I needed. I do want one DuWop product though so maybe I'll get that and then push the price up to $50.00 for free shipping. :)

I've been stalking that 100% Pure makeup too! What have you been thinking about ordering? I've been thinking about the cheek tint, mascara and the lipcolor/gloss in the round compact. The tinted moisturizer wouldn't have enough coverage to make me happy so I'm not thinking about that one but it still looks good. I like that girl that developed the products too. I turned on the TV at 6 AM the other morning and there they were. I ended up late for work because I watched it. I love the idea of the color coming from fruit pigments!

I think I deserve a TGIF treat and I'm going over to QVC.com (I mean Ebates.com first!) to order something. I need something.....if it ends up sucking, though, I'm gonna be mad. LOL.

Go order something, Patty....

RE: Sephora!!!!!

I'm back from QVC.com. Everything I wanted was sold out in the particular shade I wanted, with the exception of the mascara but I'm going to pass the mascara by for now because I don't like the look of the brush. Anyway, I'm on Wait List for the powder compact in the lightest shade. I'm thinking about going on Wait List for the cute little compact that comes with a mini mascara. The caffeine eye cream looks interesting too.

Every time I go to Sephora, the products are different for the Insider thing - although this last time there was a repeat item, which was the LORAC foundation sample. The products are always different online. They seem to rotate often too. I also like the birthday cake-scented shower gel (2.5 oz...not a bad size for free!).

I bought a long rectangular compact that has 5 lip glosses in it. I totally forgot the name and am too lazy to go look. It's pretty good stuff but nothing fantastic. I'm using it and like the colors and that it's not all loaded with gross stuff but I expected it to taste more fruity. It tastes a little sweet but I was really hoping for nice cherry and berry flavors.

Thanks for the info! I would expect it to taste like fruit too. And on QVC they always act like everything is so luscious. Patty Reilly (Riley?) is ALWAYS doing that. I guess they do that in order to get us to buy more. I guess fruit *pigment* doesn't mean fruit *flavor* - but it should!

I read some reviews on the QVC site and many say there is no flavor or that the flavor and scent is weird on the glosses and other lip products. BUMMER. But that's good. I'm not as tempted anymore. They have blush that looks like Tarte's cheek stain but I don't need it. I do want it though. I have managed to NOT order from any beauty site for a while. Well, once for bronzer I ended up hating and foundation I ended up hating and a few other things that were mehh. I think I have all the good stuff already!
