Acne:(

Acne is hard because there are so many skin types. I have clear skin but had trouble in the past with patches of break outs. I love Clinique's Emergency Gel and for one or two big zits I use the Spot Healing Treatment. These products make zits heal faster and arent too expensive.

Nothing Works!

I don't know what this place is all about but can someone help me? Ok so from a scale of 1-10 and 10 being the worse I can say that I have a 9. And you bet I've tried all that stuff on tv saying that it works. I must admit that they worked for like a week and then nothing. I've had acne for like 6 years now and I know I need to have patience but I'm just fed up with it. I just want to wake up to a clear face and I want to wash my face without it hurting. Can anyone help me?

RE: Nothing Works!

Lets see i've tried proactive, murad, benzoyl peroxide, pills, cream. I'm afraid to try anything else because I'm just always let down by everything i use. I just recently ordered epiclear and I thought that was going to work. Oh yeah and I'm 18 so this is all suppose to be normal?

RE: Nothing Works!

Hi, I've had acne since I was 15, now I'm 38 and it's probably worsened over the years.

I have to share this with you because I too was tired of touching my face and feeling pain caused by acne.

There's been two past times when I had something work for my acne. Both of them involved Accutane treatments. But as you may well know, it is expensive and probably risky. Because it dries you up so much you have to invest also in humectants, creams, etc. Not to mention the dermatologist bills and the price of the pills.

And then came this...

Last week I went to a pharmacy to get some medication for my wife. It is a special chain of "similar" pharmacies here in Juarez, Mexico that sells very cheap, active ingredient medication.

Since I was there, I wondered if they could recommend something for my acne problem.

"Is it serious?" The guy at the counter asked.

"You're looking at it", I replied.

"It is." He said.

Then he came up with this solution, a 3 month treatment of Oxitetracyclin and aloe vera pills.

I've completed my first week and I have to tell you my skin is clear from new blemishes, I still have the mark and redness of old ones, but I feel no new grease formations and can now shave without bleeding, and feel my face with no pain.

I am positive within two more weeks my face will be nice and clear.

The price for this treatment? I paid about $30 dlls for the 3 month supply. How good is this?!!

P.S. Now I tell my wife to touch my face to a point of massage. It is a feeling I haven't had in a long time. I joke with her about me kissing the guy out of joy at the pharmacy for this remedy.

I truly hope this works for anyone with this problem.

Regards.

RE: Nothing Works!

I have 2 close friends with acne and they both swear by the Body Shop's Tea Tree skincare. It's designed for blemished skin.

I know whenever I've had breakouts, getting a little bit of sun always helped too (a LITTLE bit of sun!)

RE: acne solution

What I'm wondering is, how did you discover this solution?

acne - the real solution!

Well, anyone who suggests that bodyshop's tea tree stuff or a bit of sunshine would work clearly have not had acne problems. Sorry to pick on these suggestions, but trust me.. I have tried almost everything. And the doctors I visited (including specialists) had me try even more things..
I had acne problems for years, many years. Dreadful. I got used to not wearing certain types of clothes and not going to certain places like the swimming pool or the beach. I did not want to scare anyone with the look of my skin and, of course, it was embarrassing too. But never giving up hope I mentioned the problem to my new GP at check-up. He prescribed DALACIN T lotion. It contains an antibiotic called clindamycin. After a few weeks of use (applying once or twice daily) my skin became completely clear!!! I do not even have the marks. (There is a cream version as well, but that leaves grease on the skin and later forms flakes...not very appealing.)
Never stop for less then DALACIN T LOTION!!! And never give up hope. This kind of problem needs proper antibiotic treatment.
I would also suggest to watch your diet a bit. If you can, avoid red wine or spicy food, I found that they make it worse.
I hope this note can be helpful for someone.
I wish good luck to everyone with this awful problem!

Re: Acne Solution

I recommend Bill's Acne Solution. It is easy to follow and it worked for me. I have been acne free for five months now.

RE: Acne Solution

A few suggestions some people often tend to forget:

Exercise does wonders.

Stress will make things worse (I know it's hard not to stress about it, but stress leads to more problems)

Eating well. I don't mean avoiding chocolate and stuff (as that's all been proven false), but just focusing on better food choices; fresh veggies and fruits and whatnot.

Not saying medication doesn't help (by all means, go for it, I know I still have a tube of stuff lying around!), but the other three often get overlooked amidst the craziness of just trying to find one single method of ditching acne.
