Can't move existing reviews in Software to new catalog

I recently noticed that the one & only software review I ever wrote exists in the "old" database format and is not found by Epinions search. So, I searched for the product (SmartMusic) and found the appropriate URL to move my review. Unfortunately, I keep getting the "URL does not exist" error message when I try to move my review into the new catalog.

I tried the workaround method of moving my review to another product with "review" in the URL, but it still would not move to the right product in Software. I had this same problem with a movie review before, and also with a book review.

I was able to move my review back to its original listing only after first moving it to a Kitchenaid (sorry H&G) and then to the old listing. Gah!

Just letting y'all know :)

Jennifer

Try to move it after the migration of the software category.

RE: Can't move existing reviews in Software to new catalog

Glad to report that I was able to move my review after the migration, AND the product is showing with "1 review". Success at last!

RE: Known Issues in the Catalog Migration

Aloha!

I'm wondering if this is the cause of people not being able to see my most recent post. I reviewed "Ikena," the new grammy-winning CD by Ho, Carrere, and Stillman.

After uploading it, I noticed a typo, so I went in to correct that, and was unable to get the page to download, only got a blank screen. When I went back to my account, the review was there, but with a message that says "product info temporarily unavailable." So, none of my readers or people on my mailing list can see the review.

Usually, I would not be worried, I'd just figure it will eventually be sorted out, but I am trying to ride the media wave the Grammy win has given this product.

Sooooo . . . any ideas on what went wrong? how to fix it? When I search for "Ikena" I only get "Ikea" products, not the CD.

Mahalo nui loa!

I went to your profile page and opened the review, so it's probably working fine now. Give it another try and see what happens.

Wow, last night when I looked, the review was orphaned. But now the review is linked to the right product. Odd things happen around here. But glad it's been resolved.

Review moved to an irrelevant product

Hi,

I happened to notice today that my (older) review of the Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker is now listed as a review of the Sony Playstation Wireless Controller.

Here's the URL:

http://www.epinions.com/review/Sony_Playstation_3_Wireless_Controller/content_240809905796

Thanks for your help.

Can you use the "Move" function to move your review to the correct listing? That would be the simple fix, if you can find the correct listing.

Can't move my review of Witch Mountain

I can't move my review of Race to Witch Mountain (the recent movie) accidentally posted to the book category. I have tried on several occasions to move the review, but it fails, reporting that the URL is not valid. Yet I can go right to the URL and view the list of reviews in the proper locations!
