Two November Sweepstakes: Are You in?

I just posted my entry into the 2009 Gift Ideas for the Holiday Season Write-Off. Only one entry counts in this one so I am in and finished. This should be an easy task that everyone should get into. One of us writers WILL WIN!!...unless a post card entry beats us out. Nah!

I happened to have had two reviews just about ready to post so I popped them in for the November First Review Sweepstakes.

I got an early start with that extra hour we received in changing the clocks last night.

Most important! I remembered to REGISTER the total three pieces that I entered today.

November promotions

No, because I cannot find a way to get into the Holiday one. It is not working properly and gives the reader no way to enter a review.

RE: Two November Sweepstakes: Are You in?

I'm going to send a post card just to mess with all of you.

Ah who am I kidding? I'm too cheap to buy one and then the postage to go with it. Posting's easier anyway. XD

ETA: OH OK...I see what you're saying skyrydr...I thought you couldn't find the links. Hmm. You're right, it's not working. Well, I guess we can either report it or just wait for someone to fix it...

It did work for me last night.

Just to be sure. First click on the

Member Center

then

Find the "November Sweepstakes" and click on

"Gift Ideas for the Holiday Season Write-Off"

Then click

"2009 Holiday Gift Ideas Topic Page."

That's the page that has "Write your own opinion" on the right.

Good luck. I'm off now so if its a technical problem I'm sure someone here can help steer you straight.

Randomly working?

Ok, well now it's working. Maybe it just had a few issues earlier? Try clicking the link a couple of times and see if it comes up...that's what I had to do.

I am in!

I like first reviews because they are usually the best earners.

RE: Two November Sweepstakes: Are You in?

I am in as well. I have the holiday one done and I have one first review entered. This is my first time entering the contests. I see from looking that there have been a lot of contests going on over the past few months according to the member center pages. I hope that will keep going.

RE: Two November Sweepstakes: Are You in?

I've been here since 05, and I believe there has been some sort of contest or promotion every month since I've been here. They add fun to the site, and the possibility of a few extra dollars, too. So --- enjoy!!

November Sweepstakes: One week in. Howyadoin'

I just took a look at my input for Novmeber.

I posted a Gift Ideas for the Holidays piece for that Sweepstakes. All ya need is one entry to be in the running for 10/$25 prizes.

On top of that I have 12 reviews of which 9 are firsts as I try for one of the 25/$20 prizes.

I'll also continue to collect my IS on most every one of my entries.

Add a W/C piece and I have a total of 15 posts this month.

Hey Paul,

Hey and Hello. I don't believe we have talked yet but I have seen you around for a bit recently. Good to have you dipping your toes in the water and starting to join in with the community.

As far as continued "contests." I expect they will go on. As the archives show, Epinions has continued to offer many different kinds of promotions including pay-for reviews up $100 one month! We have had a number of 10-4-$10 and 5-4-$5 promotions too. I know there have been at least two, probably three, promotions that helped out charities. Very cool!

Of course we have had a number of sweepstakes going on from deep in the past to very recently. The difference between then and now is that back then there were but three prizes month after month. Now we have prizes for 10-20-25 people per sweeps and have had concurrent sweeps for a few months too. I don't know if you saw the promotion where we were paid X amount for each review depending on which category they were posted in. That was a good one.

We never know what we are going to get in regard to promotions and part of that possibly depends on the kind of reviews Epinions needs in its arsenal to continue to be on top of the competition.

Whatever it is, it's above what I expected when I started writing for Epinion. Good stuff these sweeps and promotions are.

Thanks Pops. Glad to meet you. I am really getting in to meeting every one now and enjoying it. I am planning on entering more in to the contests too. It seems like a good game of chance so to speak. Hope to see you around. And again. Great to meet you.

Are you in the Gift Ideas for the Holidays Sweepstakes? It only takes one post to be in it.

In regard to my other reviews I have about 15 firsts.

Be sure you keep posting and registering.

That may be it for a while for me. I am having Carpal Tunnel surgery on Tuesday and I'm told I will have my arm in a sling for a week or so.

If I do write, please don't down rate me because I don't have caps at the beginning of sentences. ; )

Just registered my three November firsties. Yeah! And, glad to note each said "1 consumer review".

Who knows, maybe I'll write another one :)

RE: November Sweepstakes: One week in. Howyadoin'

I'm at 11 firsties out of 15 reviews. Still need to do a Gift Ideas essay. Maybe now that I've written my own Christmas list, I can concentrate on that.

just wondering

I was curious as to what's considered to be the "first" review. If a product only has an express review, would the first "regular" review be considered the "first"? What if there are only Not Helpful reviews? Always wondered about these things.

RE: just wondering

In both of your examples, yes, you'd have the firstie. But if there's a "regular" review rated SH or higher, then yours would not qualify.
