Expired/Void Check

Hello. I was wondering if my fellow members might be able to help me out here.

Shopping.com sent me a $40 check per my request back in November 2009. I received the check, but misplaced it. When it finally turned up, it was past the 60 day void/expiration limit.

The FAQ on the Epinions site reads:
"What should I do if my check has expired?
If your check has expired, please contact community care."

Around the first week of Jan, I contacted Community Care asking if it's possible to have a new check sent to me since I never cashed it. Unfortunately I don't have a copy or a date stamp since it was a form within the website. I also never received any sort of "we received your question and will get back to you" automated email.

I never received any response at all from Epinions. I emailed again via the Community Care form on Jan 31. As of today, Feb 23, I have again not received any response from Epinions.

Does anyone know their policy, or how I can get a response? I hoped they'd be able to write a new check and charge me a processing fee or something like that.

It's disappointing that they haven't even responded to me in 2 months. Although I haven't written many reviews, I've been a member of Epinions for over a decade. I wrote my first review in years a few months ago. I was excited to return to Epinions and begin writing again, but now I'm hesitant to back a company that's ignoring me.

Thanks.
Eddie

Your best bet would be to send an e-mail to Christal at ccalderon@shopping.com. She is the community outreach person for Epinions and should be able to help you.

Good luck!

Thanks Bob. I'll give her a try.

Hey, Bob, what do you suggest we do when we send a few emails and don't get a response? I know in another thread you suggested sending multiple emails, but if that doesn't work...? I've never had this happen before :(

I hear 'ya... all I can suggest is to keep trying. You will get through eventually.

Epinions really needs an internal messaging system, where you can send someone a message right on Epinions. Another site I use has this feature and you can send both public and private messages to people... and it works brilliantly. I hope Epinions 3.0 has that.

Good luck!

Right: another "channel" for people to ignore me on. Just what I need...

Yeah, I'm starting to be *that* discouraged. My issue is [to me] serious but apparently not serious enough. At least I know I'm doing the right thing by sending multiple emails... I guess.
