IE Explorer "back" button
When I check on the status of my recent reviews, I normally back out using the back arrow button on my browser. I have been having issues with that today. Anyone else seeing this? I use the latest version of IE. I can navigate the site fine, the back button doesn't seem to have any issues until I visit any of my recent reviews and try to hit back.

Strange
It only happens on my four most recent Peru reviews but not on my Shari's Berries review.

RE: Strange
Well, you weren't very specific about what kinds of issues you're having.
But, yes, I've seen some problems using the back button in IE8 on Epinions. Mostly it errors out trying to load pixel.quantserv. I'm not too clear what this means, but I suspect it has something to do with the ad services that load. I'll have the problem for a day or two, then it will fix itself.
user morilla has reported other problems with his back button in the past. He can expand upon those.
Is that the type of problem you're referring to?
And, yes, I agree, it's unbelievably annoying when the back button doesn't work as expected.

Mona already has screenshots of the 'ad page' issue vis a vis the BACK button menu.
I reported BACK button problems a few days after the change was made Here
I'm in XP/IE8.
I'm still having them and they've become more frequent; including, now, jumping back even further from time to time; i.e., it's no longer just ONE page not registering, but sometimes TWO pages not registering on the BACK menu between Page A and Page C or D. |

RE: IE Explorer
Yup, I'm having a similar problem: I'll rate a review, then have to click "back" three or four times before the broweser (IE9) takes me back to the previous page. It only seems to affect Epinions, none of my other web activity.
Funny... I assumed it was the hospital's WiFi quirkiness until seeing your post.

RE: Strange
I am also having the same problems. Like there's some kind of weird ads in between where I am and where I want to back up to.
At present, in my other tab where I have a product showing, the two links showing in between are both: http://showadsak.pubmatic.com/Adserver
*sigh* Honestly, if it's not one thing, it's another...

ETA: I'm on Windows7 with IE8. |

RE: Strange
For all the folks who replied in this thread, do you all agree with me that this weird back-button behavior only happens in Epinions - not on any other site you visit? |

RE: Strange
I've only had this problem in Epinions. And it's a big reason why I started opening a bunch of tabs when I go to rate reviews instead of fighting the back button issue.

RE: Strange
Agreed. Only Epinions and not everywhere. Mostly within reviews. Navigating between member pages and message boards do not exhibit the same behavior.

RE: Strange
Yup: both my laptop (IE9 on a public WiFi network) and home PC (Firefox 10.0.2) have the same behavior, and it's exclusive to Epinions.
I'm also noticing significant pauses for pages to load: evidently some of the third-party content is pretty slow.

RE: Strange
I have experienced this sort of thing before, yes, but very randomly and infrequently with other sites (typically not mainstream ones), but not to the extent that I am now experiencing it with Epinions. |

RE: Strange
It appears that Google Chrome is relatively immune to this problem, although it gets stuck once in a while, too.
