Tommy Hilfiger Women's Dimitri Flip Flops
Avoid purchasing the Tommy Hilfiger Women's Dimitri flip flop. It is dangerously slippery on smoother surfaces such as wood or tile.
I was looking for flip flops for general casual wear. I tried on a pair in the carpeted store. They were very comfortable so I purchased them.
I returned home and discovered to my dismay that wearing them on our wood floor was almost like ice skating. Same thing happened with our kitchen floor tile.
As I bought them for outside use, I decided to keep them and only wear them for yard work.
I was at a neighbor's house caring for her pets, having removed the flip flops just inside the front door before entering. I was ready to leave and put the flip flops back on. I had forgotten a chore so I went back into the house onto a tile floor. As I was finishing up, I heard one of the cats making a disturbance. I quickly turned to see what it was and my left foot slipped, and I slid into the threshold to the carpet and fell on my knee and then my side.
When I returned home, I examined the sole of one of the flip flops. It has the texture of corduroy, with soft fibers. In addition to no grip factor, the construction of the sole actually promotes slipping!
I then went to the web site for DSW and read the reviews. Many of them mentioned the slippery soles.
I wrote a review on the DSW site but it has yet to be published. I also called the store and talked to a manager, explaining my problem with the flip flops and advising them to remove the product from their inventory, as they are a serious liability waiting to happen.
Along with an abraded and sore knee, my lower back and sciatic nerve are quite painful. I have an appointment with my doctor to find out what has happened. In the meantime, I am on anti inflammatory and pain medicine.
These flip flops need to be recalled. They are dangerous. |
