Does the Rating on the Review Affect how much money you earn for the review?

I was wondering if the rating on a review that i write affects how much money i will make on it. Does the IS only depend on the views or is it on the ratings the reviews receives. Thanks alot to anyone who replies!!

Yes, the ratings your reviews receive affects the income share (IS) your reviews will earn.

First, only reviews rated Helpful and higher will earn IS. Reviews rated Somewhat Helpful and Not Helpful earn no IS, and in most cases are not even shown to the public.

Second, the better your reviews are rated, the more likely they are to be found by consumers. If an item has two reviews, the one with the best ratings is on top of the search stack when a consumer looks for it, but the second one still has a good chance of being seen. If there are 50 reviews, the one with the best rating is shown first and #35 will scarcely get any views at all. Better ratings will push your reviews to the top of the search stack. The more views your reviews get, the better chance you have to earn IS.

You may wonder why reviews on Epinions tend to be longer, more thorough and better written than reviews on other sites. The quest for better ratings (and subsequently more IS) explains why.

Thanks for asking... and welcome to Epinions!
