Broken iPod
Yeah, so my iPod broke, and it's gonna cost a helluva lot to send it back to Apple to have it fixed.
I was Google searching for alternatives and happened upon a service called 'iPodResQ'. Apparently you send it in, they fix it and send it back to you for only $29.
Has anyone had any dealings with this 'iPodResQ'? I just want to find out if it's a legitimate site.
Thanks a lot, and if anyone wants to check it out, http://www.ipodresq.com.

RE: Broken iPod
I couldn't find them on the BBBonline site, but I just Googled them and found a bunch of good reviews...
Like this one:

RE: Broken iPod
That review is massively flawed in one big way: He told the company ahead of time he was doing a review. Well of course they're going to offer the very best service and support! |

ipodresq
I found this company terrible. Once they had my ipod for repairs they were impossible to get in touch with. Now, two weeks later, my ipod has broken again. They refuse to pay for packaging and return shipping to them for repairs. If they deem my ipod broken they will reimburse me an 8 dollar fee for my shipping. Another friend of mine had to send her ipod to them three times before it worked. |

Great iPod repairs
I know that iPodmods.com is great at iPod repairs and listed as BBB online . They warranty their repairs, and you can get some customization done like extended life batteries and color LCD screens. They also do free diagnostics checks on iPods that you send them.
I'd definitely recommend them! |

Great Experience!
I was so impressed with I ResQ (formerly Ipod ResQ) that I looked up reviews so I could leave one.
My son's 4 gen ipod had a cracked screen. It was out of warranty and would cost approx $200 to fix through Apple. Through I ResQ (www.iresq.com) I was able to get a new screen for $69, including all shipping. I also ordered a high capacity battery for $15 (it was cheaper, since they already had the ipod open).
I ordered the service on Sunday Evening. Tuesday morning I received the box to ship the iPod back in. I shipped the iPod on Wednesday. I ResQ received the iPod Thursday morning and replaced the screen/battery the same day. I received the iPod back on Friday, fully functional. Wow, less than a week for all shipping and repairs.
If I ever need non-warranty repairs in the future, I will definitely use I ResQ again. I highly recommend! |

Awful Service
I honestly don't know if I'll ever see my iPhone again. They have had it for over a week, and they never answer the phone. When I initially called to authorize the repair, it took over 24 hours for someone to call me back.
FIND SOMEONE ELSE TO DO YOUR REPAIRS!! |

iresq: great service
The warranty on my daughter's iPod had just expired (of course) when the audio jack broke. I researched iresq and was impressed with all the positive feedback, so I gave it a try. I placed the order on Monday, received the packaging for the iPod in the mail on Tuesday, called FedEx to pick it up that day and we received the fully repaired iPod by Fed Ex on Thursday. Really great service. I highly recommend. |

RE: Broken iPod
I just got my 1st generation ipod nano back from iResQ for a battery replacement. It only took 4 bussiness days for them to recieve it, fix it, and send it back to me. It cost about $55 because I had them run a diagnostic to be sure it was the battery (an extra $29). It would've cost me $100 to get a refirbished nano from Apple.com. Though it would've been a 3rd generation 4gb, but I'm really cheap. Plus it's all I really needed for school. Anyway, I saved $45, it was really fast, and it works way better than before. I recommend iResQ to anyone who's Apple warranty has expired, or if they bought it off a friend or pawn shop. I see a lot of bad reviews though, and I don't see why. Oh well, at least they didn't screw me! lol |

Bad experiences with IRESQ
I will add to the poor experiences with IRESQ.
In short, go elsewhere for ipod repairs. I had to have an ipod sent in 3 times for them to complete a screen replacement repair. They fixed a logic board, which wasn't defective. I sent it back, they didn't replace the screen. I finally spoke directly to the technician and the screen was replaced. they gave credit for some of the costs and a month after sending in the ipod, it was repair.
It failed during the warranty period. They refused to honor the warranty without inspecting the ipod. Based on a picture, IRESQ stated that splotches on the screen can only be caused by physical damage. |

iPhone repair
My iPhone stopped working. it wont charge, turn on,or sync/restore with itunes. I have squaretrade warranty and they work with iresq.com for their iphone repairs. My 2g 8gb iphone was in great to excellent condition(no dents, never dropped,no scratches). I always used a silicon case along with a screen protector since i purchased it. When i sent the phone to iresq i removed the case and screen protector since it was peeling from the side. It took them 7 days to get my phone back to me since they received it. The phone turns on now but i havent restored it through itunes. My back panel has a dent right by the switch for the ringer/silent which makes to toggle stiffer than normal. The phones housing doesnt line up correctly and has uneven gaps. The screen has a scratch as well and the chrome bezel around the phone is all scratched up. The repair stated that the frame was replaced(i dont know how the frame relates to my phone not turning on/charging) but it seems to me that this phone was just put together using salvaged parts. The serial number on the back is still the same but ill check the boards info once i restore it and see if it matches. I tried to contact sqauretrade and iresq but its not their bussines hours. Ill call back tomorrow. |

update
I sync'd my phone and I found out that the serial number on the case does not match the actual phone. I was told by the iresq employee that the frame and charging dock was the only thing that was replaced. My hunch was right, they just salvaged together a phone and slapped my original back plate on it and shipped it back to me. This is very dissapointing. Im waiting on my RMA so I can send it back to them. I dont trust them but it seems like I have no choice. I will be speaking to the lead tech/manager that handles iPhones tomorrow. I'll keep you guys posted on the outcome of this. |

iRESQ junk yard = salvaged phones
spoke with the lead technician who worked on my phone. He was trying to say that my backplate was replaced with another one because they sometimes get damaged when remove/install. He didnt know that the back plate was my original but the phones serial was not. After explaning this to him then he said that the logic board was replaced and he must have forgotten to take note of this. Wow! this is total BS now! He coulnd explain any of the scratches and the housing not lining up. All he could offer was to send back the phone and replace the back plate. I asked about the screen and bezel and he said he will look for other ones that are in better condition. I guess regardless of the outcome of this I DO NOT RECOMMEND iRESQ to anybody since this is the way they work. The tech said that he will talk to squaretrade about this. All I am hoping for is for squaretrade to give me money to buy a new phone. |
