Is it just me or does everything seem to be scheduled to be released that day? According to EB, that's when the Xbox 360 will launch along with all their games. It's also when Star Wars Battlefront 2 and Battlefield 2 are scheduled to be released. There are probably many other titles too, but those are the ones that caught my attention. So are people here just going to go nuts and buy everything they can, just get a game or two, or hope that a relative gets in line early to get one of these games for Christmas?

RE: 11/1/05

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is scheduled for arrival on November 1st as well I see. However, Nintendo's reasoning for scheduling the game the same day as the Xbox 360 I imagine would be to conflict against Microsoft's launch. Companies like doing that to force people to go crazy with deciding where their money's going. When the PlayStation 2 launched, that was the day that The Legend of Zelda: Mask of Majora came out I remember. Either you were standing in line for the system, or for that game (or maybe both). The Star Wars games shipping the same day I guess are to put them on the shelves the same day as the system comes. So that when you walk into the store and buy your Xbox 360, you'll also have the option of getting those games the same day.

Just like Halo 3 will come out the same day as PS3 according to Bill Gates.

I think I actually read somewhere that Bungie's saying what Billy said is not in fact true -- that he was just making bold claims that are false. It's like what was said about Halo 2's release date. It was believed at first that it'd make a holiday 2003 shipment when Microsoft said it would make it by then. What Bungie then reported was the game would come out when it was ready to come out. I remember how everyone was really disappointed in what people thought was "Bungie's claim" back in 2003. Personally, I'd love to see Halo 3 make it next spring. But, I have a strong suspicion it won't be coming that early. Fall 2006 on the other hand...

Yay, another half-baked plot to look forward too!

I'm really curious as to how they can make the graphics better. I mean Halo2 has got to be like the best looking game of all time. All nice and shiny too.

Halo 2, the best looking game of all-time? I don't know about that. It's great looking and all, but I would say there are games that embody a greater (or more interesting) style or edge that the Halo series doesn't carry. Resident Evil 4, for example, seriously carved itself a level of realism that had not yet been seen in any game through morbid locations and highly rendered characters. When you get back to the graveyard at night in the pouring rain, just the way the thunder and lighting bristles across the lifelike monstrous wolf figures sitting there with mean looking teeth and yellow eyes was really something. I also loved The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker's cel-shaded technique. Best. Cel-shading. Ever. ;)
