RE: Jenn-Air Appliances. I'm SO disgusted right now

Same thing happened to me. Mine was 5 years old when it happened last year. My husband did replace it pretty easily but the part was $250.

I just emailed Jenn-Air right now because now the frig is not cooling. We purchased all Jenn-Air appliances when we built our house in 2003 (>$5000 worth). The dishwasher handle also broke. It is cheap plastic and it is rusting inside. The cooktop grill as painted black and the paint is chipping. I am very mad right now too!! I won't buy Jenn-Air again.

We have the double wall oven model jjw9630ccs (approx 6 years old) and the led panel on front is gone as well. sometimes you can see it faintly if kitchen is dark.
we have not investigated the repair cost and now we have a new problem . the top convection oven won't heat up. I have not found any answers online so I guess we will have to call repair man.

RE: Jenn-Air Appliances. I'm SO disgusted right now

I HATE Jenn-Air. I was so excited when we remodeled our kitchen a few years ago and we used their appliances. Nothing but disasters. We spent a fortune on the dual fuel range and like the other poster, the digital panel went out and it took forever to get someone to tell us what part we needed. Once it was determined, it took 6 weeks to get the part. After all that time, we blew it off and haven't had a properly working oven for two years. We can get it to auto set on 350, or manually on 375 (the three and seven still work for some reason)so we only cook things that can be cooked at those temperatures! Two more years and we will replace it with a cheaper, plain jane oven.

RE: Don't buy a Jenn-air product!!

Jennair grills are made by Lowes. Notice you can't buy them at any other store. Maytag Sales Corp licensed the Jennair Name for gas grills to Lowes. Maytag since then, has tried to buy it back but Lowes won't have that.

jenn aire

I have jenn aire appliances and if i could get my money back i would
BIggest pieces of crap that are sold at a premium

Refrigerator $6000 broken down 4 times already
Microwave over replaced within 30 days

All they do is sell you parts at 1/2 price but you pay a fortune to have them installed.

Poor Quality Worse Service

We bought a condo with all Jenn Air appliances.

The handle of the over the cook top microwave/vent broke off and between the new part and the service charge was over three hundred and fifty dollars.

We had a recall on the dispenser in the dishwasher and told not to use it until a new part was ordered and installed as the unit may catch fire. That took a month.

Now the side by side refrigerator/Freezer has failed when service was called we were told it would take a couple of days to order and get the part. Obviously Jenn Air has not heard of next day delivery. We lost everything in both the refrigerator and freezer. Still waiting to find out how much the part will cost but the minimum service charge is $125.00.

I would advise anyone who is considering new kitchen appliances to avoid Jenn Air as I have found the only thing premium about them is the price.

Jenn AIr Appliances

These guys don't know what they are doing as a company. High end...baloney....service is low end. Incompetent and unresponsive to customers. I would never patronize this company again. If I could I would have all the appliances I purchased that are Jenn Air replaced. They were in place when the customer service collapsed and the kitchen I constructed was not for me. If it were mine I would have had them all removed. Its a shame this American company just doesn't seem to get it when it comes to meeting customer demand. Just plain stupid. I would buy anything other than Whirlpool products whenever possible. I just returned a newly purchased Maytag due to immediate failure and got GE. Still trying to stay American but the foreign companies know how meet demand and stand behind their commitments. Not looking bright for our future.

RE: Jenn AIr Appliances

Unfortunately, many formerly prestige brands are little more than a licensed badge slapped on an appliance made by the Whirlpool Corporation. There are however reliable prestige manufacturers that sell their products competitively. Bosch comes to mind and to make it just a little bit sweeter, Bosch manufactures most of its appliances in the USA.

JennAire Range

Over the years I have purchased 5 Jenn Aire ranges with oven each for a different home we moved to. I have never had a problem and will buy another. Worst problem I ever had was light in oven burnt out, and I had to have a repairman come change it. The one I have now is 17 years old adn works great.
