Jenn-Air Junk
I bought my dream grill (Jenn-Air) at Lowe's for $1000 plus $100 for the rotisserie. This grill has been the biggest mistake and disappointment of any product I have ever purchased. The grates don’t last from one year to the next. The grill is either extremely hot or too cool to cook a steak. The burners and the covers above them rusted out while still in warranty and the replacement parts have done the same. The regulator has been replaced but the same low temperature problem happened again this week. The replacement burners were too short to reach the bracket and knob assembly. They are wired in place with stainless steel fishing leader. Getting to the burners was also a major issue. It is my understanding that there were three manufacturers of Jenn-Air grills when I purchased mine. Jenn-Air does not make grills. The major issue is that no one is responsible, not Lowe's , Jenn-Air or the manufacturers. I have a nice stainless steel piece of junk for only $1100. Think of how many Char Broils I could have bought for that.

I guess I got a Gem
I have a 3 burner Jenn-Air Model 720-0163 that I purchased at Lowes 2 years ago.
I love this grill, it heats evenly and is easy to keep clean.
I needed the igniters that since a grill fire that was my own fault melted the wires and grounded out the ignition module. Nexgrill was a little difficult to get on the phone, but they were very helpful. After I order the module I realized the igniters were not listed in the manual. I went to Lowes and found out they have a complete listing of all parts for all models they currently sell and can actually get parts for all manufacturer models.
I ordered the igniters through Lowes and they came in in 3 days. If you need parts go to Lowes they can get them for you. |

RE: Jenn Air heat problems
In an earlier post I had noticed that someone had discovered the new propane valves had a safety item built in to limit the flow of gas if it detected a surge. I had noticed my older grill didn't cook like it used to before retiring it. Just prior to starting my Jenn-Air I read this post and have been turning the valve on 'very' slow so as not to trigger the safety valve. Mine will go to 550 deg. with no problem. Hope this helps and happy grilling.

RE: Jenn-Air Built-in Grill Tops
Quote: kjak Does anyone have a Jenn-Air built-in grill top...#750-0142 that has used it for a while? It's a 5 burner without a side burner. Has an infra-red cooking unit for the rotisserie. I would like to know the evenness of cooking, heating up, any low flame/heat problems, sturdiness of the unit, and how the stainless steel cooking grates perform. Is the stainless steel good quality and reliable? Anything else you could tell me about it (pros and cons) would be very helpful. I just purchased one from Lowe's (still in the box), paid about $1000 for it, and also purchased a rotisserie unit. I plan to build a concrete/tile island around it. I just want to make sure I purchased a grill top which will last for years and cook properly. I don't want to have purchased this $1000, only to find out later, I need to return it. It would be a pain to have to remove it from the island structure. If I need to return it to Lowe's for something else...would rather do it now. Thank you so much for any help and advice anyone can give me. I've seen so many reviews, both positive and negative for Jenn-Air grills, it's hard to believe what is true of the product. Some of the reviews may be outdated, since the grill top I bought is probably the most recent...and they may have addressed and fixed all of the "bugs".
Just curious if you installed and have any updates on performance to report back. I just bought the 750-0142 from Lowe's ($699) and am about to install it. Would like a little reassurance if it is a solid unit or not.
thanks in advance. |

RE: Jenn-Air Built-in Grill Tops
I just purchased a four burner model at Lowes. The $649 price seemed to good to pass up. So far (after one week) it works great. It heats up fast and is easy to operate. I have heard some issues about hot and cold spots but can't say I've detected that problem so far. |

RE: Jenn Air 750-0142 Rotisserie
Quote: gasgrill1 My husband just spent two weeks building an island for his built in Jenn Air Grill purchased from Lowes and the rotisserie heat unit turns off when it reaches 300 degrees. Anyone else have this problem and what should we do to get more heat without it turning off on us?
Any resolution to your problem? I have a 2 year-old 720-0336 and have experienced a similar problem with the rotisserie burner. But usually, I cannot even get it to stay lit. When I release the valve knob, it immediately shuts off. However, on a couple of occasions I've been able to get it to burn for a few minutes but then it shuts down anyway. All the rest of the burners work fine with more than enough heat for anything I want to grill. Have only started to try to use the rotisserie within the past couple of days, but obviously, with no success.

Jen Air 720-0138 NG
Built an island and installed this grill about 3 years ago. Great cooker! On the house gas line ... having trouble with the knobs not igniting the burners. The sparks are not strong enough. How do you clean them? |

RE: I Need help please-Jenn air grill
I have the natural gas Jenn-Air 4 burner stainless steel grill with side burner, purchased at Lowes about 18 months ago for well over $1000. After having the grill for about 10 months we noticed one of the knobs was really hot and wouldn't turn off. We had to turn the gas off to the grill from the main gas supply. Tried to disassemble to see if it was jammed or melted. Noticed that two burners had completely split down the sides, allowing the flames to shoot into the openings for the knobs. Our grill is 100% unusable and a fire hazard. If anyone has had this issue please report to the better business bureau before someone gets hurt. |

RE: Jen Air 720-0138 NG
I also bought the Jenn Air grill top from Lowes last year and am looking into building an island for it. Can anyone help with suggestions on resources or advice on how to build it? Admittedly, I have never built an island before but am good with general home improvement and have time to learn. I want to build it on an existing patio with paver stones. I can remove the stones in that area but want to avoid pouring concrete. Any advice or help with materials to use that do not need a concrete slab and where to obtain things like stainless steel doors for the island and metal bars for mounting the grill, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much! |

I Googled "grill cabinets" and quite a few things came up, so you might want to do that. One I looked at was:

See if that helps.

RE: jenn-air low flame
that did the trick.
I also took the time to clean the burners thoroughly and now get a nice even flame that all the gas holes are clear of build up.
thanks

RE: Jenn-Air Grills - Stay Away
I have had the same problem with my jenn air grill Model # 720-0062 it has 4 main burners plus side & rotisserie burner. You could heat it all day and it wouldn't get past 350 degrees. I Fixed the grill and it now heats up to 550 degrees in 7-10 mins with only the 4 main burners on. My solution is there is not enough gas pressure coming from the regulator the maunufacturer supplies for this grill ( 1 psi ) I purchased a 10 psi adjustable regulator with a 3/8 swivel connector made by Bayou Classic , just google it. .It installed in 5 mins all you need is an adjustable wrench. Be sure when you first turn on you completely close the adjustable regulator then only turn it a little till you hear the gas ,once lit you can adjust the flame for as much as you want . This grill works fantastic now and to think I was gonna throw it out .LOL .You can Email me back at slammer818@aol.com if you need any more info... |

RE: jenn air cover
If anyone is looking for the cover(s)for any Jenn-Air grill, or part. You can call 1-800-913-8999 GrillServices punch #1, or go to grillservices.com. After spending over a hour on the internet and being given seven different phone #'s to call. I finally found someone to get the cover specific for my grill. You will need your model # & the serial # from your grill, located inside the grill door.
I hope this helps.

RE: four burner problems
This might help, took me a while to learn. The regulators they made over the last couple of years have a safety built in. I don't know what it save you against but here is the deal. If all of the burners are not turned off when you change the tank it does something to the regulator, the results, grill will not get hotter than 250 degrees.
The solution, if this is your issue, turn everything off including the tank, disconnect then reconnect the tank. Be sure to open the gas valve slowly, then turn the knobs on. hope this helps |
