Wish I'd gotten into this before Bob started to blush.
Let me just add that Bob is sort of like the Red, Red Robin, in that he just keeps on Bobbin' along!
Sorry about that, but Bob, we don't know what we'd do without you. Encouraging people to write reviews is what benefits Epinions cause that's what it's all about.
And I'd truly like to see an Epinion on this product.

Tile floor help
I have several rooms with tile floors that have light colored grout. The only way I can get the grout looking half-decent is to scrub it with a brush - very time and energy consuming. Can anyone tell me if the Flip-It will clean my light grout without serious scrubbing? I already have an excellent vacuum for use on my carpet and hard wood floor surfaces, so I don't really care about the suction on the dry side of the product. Please advise. Also, if anyone has any other ideas about a simpler way to keep my light grout clean without so much time and effort, I would really appreciate the input. Thanks for your help. |

You should seal the grout with a silicone sealer. This should have been done when the tile was installed but it might not have been. Even it if was, you can certainly apply sealer again. Go to Home Depot, Lowes or other home improvement store and look for silicone grout sealer. Be careful to apply it according to the directions and to clean excess sealer off the tiles right away. You might even want to apply it twice but try this first in an unobtrusive area to see if it starts to change the color of the grout.
The sealer should help keep dirt and grunge out of the grout, and make it easier to clean.

bissell flip it
Seem to have mixed opinions. I know one friend who is very happy with it. What I am wondering is if there is anything similar that works better? With 2 dogs and 3 cats, I need to clean the floors often, looking for something that will make it simpler but still worth the purchase and effective. |

Found this a good buy
I just went out and bought the Bissell Flip-It for my home, and I love it. I am currently in the process for posting a review. Thank you all for your opinions and comments!
I have all tile floors in my house, and even though there are a few 'cons', over all it is better than my old mop-and-bucket combo. Found that it cleans very well, and is really easy to put together and use. |

RE: bissell flip it
Here is the bottom line between Bissle Flip it and Hoover Floor Mate I bought the Floor Mate only to return it the next day....I then bought a Flip It... Flip it is the only hard floor cleaner to come with a velcro like sponge. All others only come with a brush, which does nothing but attempt to get the dirt, but does leave nothing but water streaks behind. Try the flip it, I have 3 dogs and I am very very pleased. Also the Flip has a stronger vaccum, lighter, more manuverable in tight corners, like around toilet bowls. If Hoover got the patent on the velcro like sponge first, then I would prefer the floormate...but they did not. |

Does anyone have any current info on the bissell flip-it? As there are mixed reviews, I am wondering if the suction is good or bad or it only works when you pull back on the wet side...also, how does it work on edges, do the brushes revolve. Is it effective on wood (is the soap gentle enough to use on wood) as well as tile? I am on the fence about even taking it out of the box and have only read the instructions...any input would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks! |

My Review
I have a Flip It and have been very happy with how it works on my Laminate Flooring. I have two dogs that shed and it gets the hair up very nicely and leaves my floor shiny! It has two different liquids that you use with it. One for wood floors and the other is for tile and other hard surfaces. You can read more of my review at www.doubledanger.com , I was so happy with the product that I am telling my friends about it!
Hope this helps some of you! |

Bissell Flip It
I have the Flip It and think it does a pretty good job. Yes, one does have to clean the filter after relatively light cleaning; but, this was not made to do carpet cleaning or major heavy duty stuff. The machine will stop picking up dirt if the filter is not cleaned.
I vacuum the floor, then flip it over and scrub away. I then EMPTY both the dry and wet containers and clean the filter. I have cats and dogs and this machine picks up the hair and litter. The floor comes out clean and shiny.

Flip-It
I bought one this year, 2009 and I love it, I have two dogs and a cat and a husband that works construction and is very messy in the kitchen and bath with all the concrete and dust. This little machine works great, the one thing you have to do with any cleaning machine is clean it very well when you are done using it and it works like brand new. I'm still on my first sample bottle of cleaning solution and have washed the floors about 25 times, it only takes 5 minutes for the kitchen, which used to take 30 minutes. I do add a little household cleaning solutions to my cleaning solution and it really gets it clean. As for the suction for picking up the pet fur, you just need to clean it out with your hand, just like a dust pan when sweeping. I won't use a mop or broom again. |

Solution?
I got one for free and I was wondering if I have to buy their hard wood solution or I can buy something else cheaper? I think I also need a replacement spong for the bottom where the velcro is but is it worth getting? |

RE: bissell flip it mop
My sister bought a Bissell flip-it and we can't seem
to get the water to flow. I did take a look at the trigger located in the handle. There seems to be a problem with the plunger assembly. I fixed that as best I could without breaking the plastic plunger. The x-valve to the water tank does not float up or down as it is supposed to. I guess the next step is customer service. I pray that this will help someone.

RE: bissell flip it mop
My Flipit just died after three good years of heavy-duty service. I went right out to get a new one, but Target was out of stock. Some posts have indicated complaints about the Flipit purchased at BigLots. I've heard that BigLots buys merchandise that has been returned to the original vendor under warranty, refurbishes it (maybe), and then re-sells at reduced price. No surprise that products don't measure up. I've loved my Flipit from day one and will get another as soon as I can. |
