Prestige Moving Chapel Hill, NC
We hired this company. They sold us insurance and also say if you buy boxes from them, they will buy the boxes back. Our piano was damaged in the move and they do not return calls or answer their phone while we try to find out how to file the claim. I returned one load of boxes and literally was told "the check's in the mail". In addition we had to repaint our stairwell, though we were not able to completely fix the larger gouges or the dent put into the walls. We are very dissatisfied with the service we have received and would like to warn anyone considering using these movers, get everything in writing. |

RE: Prestige Moving Chapel Hill, NC
I suggest that you write a proper review of this mover on Epinions, as few people will see your complaint here. When you write the review, be sure to include everything you wish you knew beforehand, good or bad. How long did the move take? Did the movers show up on time? Were the people friendly and professional? Did it look like they were experienced? Who did the packing? Who did the loading and unloading? How much did it cost? Were there any hidden charges?
If this company is not listed on Epinions, you should contact one of the Category Leads for this section. They are pogomom (Helen) and mind-full (Amy). Contact only one but either should be happy to help you set up the listing for a proper review.
Remember... almost no one will see your post here. A review, if properly done, will get much better exposure to the public.

Prestige Moving, NC
We hired Prestige to do a job across the state. Nothing was damaged or broken, the movers were helpful and gave us as much help as they could (which was a lot!) the prices are affordable, the service is wonderful. I strongly recommend Prestige Moving to anybody who wishes to entrust their valuables to a trustworthy mover.
I am appalled at the below review! Prestige was the best company we've had in 50 years of continual moving. Yes, they answered every one of our calls, and when they accidentally created a dent, they took full responsibility upon themselves to fix it which is just what they did. Again, I believe Prestige is the right company for a safe, satisfying move. |

BUYER BEWARE!!!!
Prestige is bad news! STAY AWAY!!!!
We hired them to move from NC to NYC. The move was a total disaster - believe nothing Marty Solomon tells you. Despite his WRITTEN guarantee of no extra charges for weight we were charged $700 extra for extra weight. Antiques, valuable and fragile items were thrown in random boxes, wrapped only in brown paper with no protection. Nothing was labeled, numbered or inventoried. As a result we received over 80 boxes with no idea what was in them or even if any were missing. There was breakage, damage to property and utter chaos. He understaffed the job leaving 1 man to unpack over 8000 pounds of furniture and boxes virtually on his own. As a result the job took hours more than it should have. This company is totally amateur hour. DO NOT USE PRESTIGE IF YOU VALUE YOUR PROPERTY OR SANITY!!!!!! |

Prestige Moving Company
Prestige Moving is the worst moving company. First, the guys showed up 45 minutes late. They packed for three hours and left. 60% of the items in the house were not packed. Secondly, when my kitchen was packed, plates, dishes and pots were thrown in the boxes. They were not neatly placed in the boxes. One of the movers cut his hand and continued to pack my kitchen items. After the move was over, I unpacked my kitchen and found blood on the packing paper and some of the dishes. They did not properly label the items. They placed an S for storage and an H for house. They did not check any of the items listed on the box, which would help to identify my items, especially in storage. Now, we have to hire another moving company to unload our items in storage, so that we can open them, sort, and label. Also, when moving into my new location they chipped a lamp and a table. They have not repaired or replaced and we did pay for the warranty. They did not follow instructions about were items should go. After the move, we had to take several items to the storage that was marked H for house but should have gone to the storage. The move was supposed to take three days, it took four days. Maybe if they spent more time packing the first day, they would not have to pack on the day they were supposed to move. When my husband called Marty, the owner, to tell him of the bad service, he told my husband that, “He was not working on that day.” That day was the day of the move. My thought is if your company is working on a particular day, so are you, even if you are not physically there. I do not recommend Prestige Moving; they are very unprofessional and have poor service. |
