My friend

If you think your safe your nuts. The loss of 60,000 plus customers over the last 3 years is what you should be concerned about

RE: Scotts Lawn Service

wow do you know that fertilizer feeds weeds as well as grass??? lol It takes time to get rid of weeds and four months will not cure a lawn.. be patient

Scotts Lawn Service

Myopinion is it is a total waste of time and money. You can do much better yourself and for less money. I tried them this year and I have never had more weeds and other problems. The chided me about not having enough fertilizer applied when, in fact, that was their job. Never in the 30+ years has my lawn been in worse condition. My advice is to steer clear of them and I believe they are a rip-off.

Wait and See

I've had 2 decidedly different experiences witb Scotts. In the fall of 2007 we replaced our entire lawn due to grub damage. After the lawn was replaced we contacted Scotts to provide service to make sure that the grubs did not come back up the next year and destroy the lawn again. They serviced the lawn all last year and it looked fantastic. In fact we were so satisifed we decided to go ahead and renew this year and continue service with the grub treatment. This whole year I have also been working from home. During the year they have only knocked once when they performed the treatment. There have been several times where my wife walked in the door with the invoice and I hadn't even known they were here. We are now heading into August and I have multiple places where the grass is not growing and it appears dead. I know without a doubt that the lawn is getting plenty of water and I suspect that the damage is because of grubs again. They have never made any recomendations on any care for my lawn. I have placed a call to the office and I am waiting for someone to come out and give me a definite cause on the damage.

UPDATE: The tech came out (was supposed to call first but didn't) and said that I had been over watering. He also found some cutworms. He did give me advice on adjusting my watering schedule and said that he sprayed the lawn and would be back in a few weeks for my normal treatment. We'll see how things look then.
