I should have known better
I sold beds years ago, and my Sealy that I love was feeling just a bit to firm so I and my husband went shopping for a new one and we also wanted to move up to a king. We went to Sleep Country and fell in love with the way the Nature's Rest bed felt. But as soon as we got it home I was not comfortable sleeping in it. The mattress felt used as our bodies sank in ruts on both sides. But it was a King and my husband was okay with it.
I had to start sleeping in the guest bedroom just so I could move in the mornings , the pain in my back just kept getting worse. Now after 6 months my husband is complaining, the bed sags on each side and a hard lump in the middle. I contacted Sleep Country and they said they no longer carry that brand any more , they had too many problems. We are now going through the process of the warranty , can't wait to see how it turns out. I am so ready to get a new bed. |

RE: Nature's Rest - Mattress Problems- Pain
We purchased our Nature's Rest king mattress from Jordan's Furniture about 2 years ago. We experienced the "canoe" effect right away. I contacted Jordan's and explained the situation. They arranged for a representative from Nature's Rest to come out and look at our mattress. Unfortunately, the mattress did not meet the 1.5" depression but he offered to send us a pillow top to put on the mattress and also suggested to flip the mattress over. I ended up having to call Jordan's back after about 2 months because the pillow top never arrived. It did arrive after that, but has not helped the situation. I then called Jordan's again and complained about how uncomfortable the bed was and they arranged for one of their special mattress technicians to come out. He came and measured the mattress but again the depression was not exactly 1.5" but pretty darn close. So we were out of luck. I was extremely disappointed and frustrated. I contacted Jordan's customer service to express my dissatisfaction and the girl on the phone just said "Sorry that's all we can do for you." I told her that I would never shop at Jordan's again and she replied "Well that's fine." We are so upset about this purchase which cost us over $3000! My husband cannot sleep on it anymore and I have spent most of my nights sleeping on our 25 year old couch! I would be interested in joining some type of joint lawsuit if anyone wants to pursue this. |

Mountains on my Nature Rest
My wife and I purchased a king size Nature Rest Pacifica (one of their top line models) for about $3,800 in 2001. We specifically chose this company and their latex bed because we got tired of replacing mattresses after a few years because of ruts where we sleep. Our model supposedly has a 20-year warranty against defects like canoe ruts. Well, like all other mattresses we've purchased, this one started developing the canoe ruts after about 5 years. Until that point, I was practically a spokesperson for these mattresses -- the most comfortable I have ever slept on. Now, after 8 years, the thing is killing my back. The ruts are like mountains and I have to lift my head up to see my wife next to me in the bed. I haven't started the process of seeking a warranty replacement, but I'm on it tomorrow. If I have no luck, I may be interested in a class action lawsuit. I'll report my experiences from here forward. |

If the company responds they'll probably send out an inspecting technician to measure the ruts. Usually anything less than 1 1/2" is claimed normal. My advice is to request the inspector call you a half hour before arrival. Then during this period lay on the bed as you would while sleeping. You'll have a better chance that the ruts will measure accurately as they exist while sleeping.
Good Luck,
Rudi |

Nature's Rest Discontinued?
Hi,
I have been searching for the manufacturer's website hoping to find some information on how to clean my Nature's Rest mattress due to a spill this weekend. Unfortunately, the mattress cover we bought to protect it didn't work at all. I will be calling in to the Protect-A-Bed company separately but would like to have the mattress cleaned ASAP. Anyone know how to contact the manufacturer? I'm sorry to hear all the complaints about sagging and discomfort. I have only owned my Nature's Rest for almost a year and we are still quite satisfied.
Thanks in advance! |

RE: Mountains on my Nature Rest
We have had the same problem with our Nature's Rest mattress. Sleepy's replaced it after it was 2 years old in 2007, now the second mattress has the same problem and Sleepy's refuses to help. Has anybody pursued a court claim against Natures Rest? |

Do NOT buy a Natures Rest
Take it from me. DO NOT buy a Natures Rest.
Feels great for 60 days then "Beware of the Canoe". Make sure you say those words with a deep scary voice because you'll be in horror when you realize you spent thousands of dollars on a bed that causes such physical pain and emotional stress. Do not even second guess your decision. Run away from these mattresses and purchase a traditional coil bed. |

Nature's Rest Canoe
Having the same problems as everyone else. Mattress was great, spectacular even, for the first few months. Have had the mattress less than a year and the dips are getting worse. Not sure if they meet the 1.5 inch threshold or not, but I would guess they do. I plan to start the warranty process right away either way. I'm hopeful that the retailer/manufacturer will be helpful...we'll see. If not, I'm also interested in joining a class action if one becomes available. |

Mattress Ravines
Not only has my Natures Rest Kind Mattress have those deep Ravines like has been described.... now the material is separating around the decorative stitching in several places.
I have called "Mattresses and More" where I bought it... and have been told the Natures Rest has gone out of business and not honoring their warranty.
I had a tech from Furniture Liquidators come out for a problem with the couch we bought and he fixed it. I asked him about the mattress and he verified he would be the one coming out to measure it. He verbally mentioned that just visually I had a problem and he has to be assigned a work order for him to "officially" call it!
that is when I called Mattresses and More and they told me about the manufacturer not honoring the warranty.
Is there any truth to this????? I need this replaced.
Thanks

Great Sleep on our Nature's Rest Bed
In the past year we purchased a new Nature's Rest set of bedding. It has been great. The latex is really quite supportive. It took a while to get used to the feel of the bed (we've always slept on a traditional coil-type bed). The salesman explained to us that it would take a little while to get used to it. We've not had any issue with the bed at all. Just a really good night's sleep every night.
The latex is very comfortable. The quality of my sleep has improved greatly since we started sleeping on this Nature's Rest bed. We've had no problems. Highly recommended. |
